The filet mignon was exceptionally good. The appetizers were average. Service was excellent and the wine list was impressive.
Overall, we enjoyed the meal.
Single women dining alone are often overlooked in the rush to please those dining in pairs or single men- this was no exception.
Watched three other tables seated AFTER mine get drinks water and bread prior to my being approached.
The food is good but not inspired and fairly expensive although in keeping with other nearby options. Restaurant is clean, nicely appointed and there is a good selection of wines by the glass.
Our server wasn't rude, just not very friendly. The food wasn't anything to get excited about.
Great place for a a dinner with friends or a date. The food was fantastic, every meal and dessert at our table was absolutely delicious. We were very pleased with the service- our waiter was very friendly and helpful yet hands off and didn’t come to check on us every 10 min, which we appreciated. I highly recommend City Table!
This is my favorite restaurant for brunch and to have a get together with friends. The service is impeccable from the moment you enter the restaurant which is in the Lenox Hotel. There is an elevated ambience, but you get a real value in the selection and price great enough for foodies. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends today.
Pretty good food. Mediocre service...
Was just my every weekend dining, was looking for something different, been to most dining in the area wanted to try different one.
But it was a perfect spot
My girlfriend and I visited City Table for our anniversary dinner. Our wonderful waiter, Eduardo, welcomed us with champagne and expressed his gratitude that we chose City Table. Throughout the night, the service was incredible along with the food. We enjoyed Tuna Tartare and the steak filet. The food was delicious and quick and our drinks were even better. Thank you to Eduardo and the entire City Table team for a wonderful experience
Fantastic restaurant. Had the ahi tuna and the Thai chicken soup. Food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. The service was adequate
Great place for client dinner, dinner with friends. Staff was awesome. Food is fantastic.
Our waiter Emory was very nice and made our meal enjoyable
Great spot for Sunday Brunch! Nice “city” vibe...Had the traditional Eggs Benedict & Bloody Mary. Every item cooked perfectly. My friends over easy-one perfect the other too hard. The waitress took it away and promptly returned with 2 perfectly “over”...she left the original 2 so my friend had a bonus!
The staff were wonderful-our waitress was exceptional.
The Lennox is a charming boutique hotel & the lobby very welcoming with a beautiful fireplace. Ladies room sparkled!
I have been to City Table for dinner before Symphony and it was also a satisfying & enjoyable meal.
Great martinis! We had burgers but there are entrees that looked great going by. Good service - vibrant bar. Will go back!
Fantastic service by Sergio at the bar & Mario at our 6 top - great food and such a fun night
Had an amazing time this past weekend at City Table! We decided to splurge and get the Filet Mignon, and it was the best filet I have ever had! They were super accommodating of food allergies, and the service was so great. I would absolutely recommend.
Great food and a friendly helpful staff. Location great for sightseeing.
Restaurant is fair. Decent food, overpriced for what you get. Staff is unprofessional. The restaurant clearly doesn’t get enough traffic as the wine cabinet is noticeably not full. The bread that was brought was probably warm at some point, but was not by the time it hit the table. We then had the Chopped Salad. Nothing to write home about. It was over-dressed and too much bacon was used. That was followed up by the Chicken Sandwich. Chicken was good, but the “house baked role” was just a sesame hamburger bun. The heaping pile of French fries and dollop of ketchup were significantly mismatched. The best part of the meal was the beverage. Bottled Allagash White for me ($8 - a little pricey in that I can buy a 6-pack for $11), and an overpriced $12 glass of Cab for my girlfriend. All in all, we probably won’t be back.
This was our second NYE at City Table. We all love it. Reservation promptly honored. Great menu plus a special NYE menu if you wish. As busy as it was we never felt rushed. Great drink menu. Server was very pleasant. I think that City Table will continue to be our NYE choice.
Wonderful food and service.
After reading reviews through multiple sources, I was hoping for something better. The service was great, but the food and drinks were “meh”. Tried brunch on the first morning of our stay. The other person in the party really enjoyed their biscuits and gravy. My duck hash had no flavor.
Our second attempt was at dinner the following night. We ordered the oysters - they weren’t good. Not bad...but certainly not anything to write home about. We had oysters down the street the night before and they were great. Anyway, my dinner was terrible. This time my guest agreed. “Mediocrity at its best” was their description.
Service was great, but when the food is bad - what’s the point?!
The city table burger was nice, but a tad bland.
Loved our waitress. Food was good overall. Giving 4 stars since we got the Shrimp and pork belly, which was good, but 3 tiny shrimp. Too small to be tasty. Otherwise, crab and avocado app and steak frites were hits!
We are never disappointed and return several times a year!
Reliable upscale always top notch food and service, ESpecially good for people over 40 because it has a lively vibe but not so much that it is a screaming match to hear your dinner companions
Very busy - seemed a bit short staffed.
Awesome menu and outstanding service. There was plenty to choose from to satisfy a small appetite and the folks that wanted a full meal. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing and very patient with a group of 60 year old women who hadn’t seen each other in several years.
I found this restaurant by googling "festive places to eat at Christmas" The photo of the adjacent "City Bar" clinched it for me and my friends and I were not disappointed. We were concerned that the location might not be conducive to conversation but it was fine. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive, making a few trips to the bar to see if our drink requests could be accommodated (one could and the other was an excellent substitution.) Three of us got the special which was handmade pasta with scallops, lobster, asparagus and cherry tomatoes. It received rave reviews from all three. The fourth member of our party had the scallops and she also loved them. We split a piece of carrot cake because we were all too full for our own dessert. Again, it was delicious. It's on the pricey side but not outrageous compared to other Boston restaurants. Walking into the lobby of the Lenox Hotel (where the restaurant is located) was so festive. There is a fireplace and sitting area that was decorated beautifully . It was a perfect holiday gathering among friends in every aspect.
I found this on Open Table and was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and amazing food.
Food is mediocre and they are pumping in a heavy perfume smell into the restaurant and hotel lobby which was not very pleasant.
Too loud but location very good for our plans that night thanks
Very late lunch or pre-concert dinner at 5 PM. Despite the odd hour, City Table was hopping. Only complaint was the rude reception when we arrived at 4:45 and were told to wait in the the lobby for 15 minutes... attitude adjustment issue. Fortunately a kind man offered his chair (seating is very limited) in the lobby to my date, who can't stand for long periods. The lobby was gorgeously decorated for Christmas with a lovely (best fake I've seen) fire and a very 19th c. English/Dickensian style. Returning to the restaurant, we had an excellent dish (cod) and a mediocre one (extremely tomato-ey bouillabaise, light on seafood) as well as a nice dessert. I will return at least once for top location, attractive decor, fair price.
Wonderful way to start a Sunday.
Waiter was a bit disinterested - didn’t take our order correctly and had to wait 15 minutes for toast
Really like this place however as this is the second time I have been here the service, especially at the beginning can be spotty. Waited 10 minutes for a server to ask about a cocktail and there was no one in the restaurant.
The women of our clan were on a getaway with our Mom/Mother-in-Law. She is struggling with some health concerns and we wanted to make the weekend special. City Table did not disappoint. We had a great meal with warm and generous service. She felt like a queen and we had so much fun. I love the Abe Lincoln painting. We had breakfast there as well and it was delicious. Warm and welcoming.
Have been before but was delicious again! Amazing fresh fish dishes and great wines.
Every dish we ordered was excellent. When the waitress got one of the orders wrong, the manager immediately came over and apologized - and we were not billed for the correct dish which came a few minutes later. Will be happy to come back
Attending conference- nice place for quiet breakfast
with a colleague.
