We love this place, can’t get enough!!
You advertise brunch & bottomless mimosas on your website & on your menu but refused to honor it because it’s St Patrick’s Day. Brunch is the only reason I picked your restaurant. Our server Kevin was great but you’re restaurant was very disappointing!
Great food but last two times service has been very slow. I have discussed this with management but not sure they care due to the busy snowbird business. I hope they realize the FL residents will impact his business too in the end.
With good friends, my husband and I enjoyed dinner and drinks at City Oyster and Sushi Bar on a recent Thursday. The bar crowd was so loud that the waitress was hoarse and we had yell to hear one another at our table of four. The kale salad and wedge salad were good. Tuna carpaccio appetizer was fair. We liked our fish entrees, wine, and beers. Maybe the next time the bar crowd won’t be so loud.
Family visiting from Maine.
Consistently fresh, tasty food in a friendly environment.
Not worth it at all. So noisy and busy that it was impossible to have a conversation with people at my table and the wait staff hardly had time for us. No thanks.
We had a great time. Food was excellent. Service was attentive but discreet. The restaurant was busy, but we never felt rushed.
Easily one of the best places in South Florida! Everything is so fresh....from seafood to drinks. Service is always superb and has been for the 18 years we’ve been going there. Very solid and consistent. Highly recommend!
I consider myself a regular customer. I still can’t figure out how to get outside seating ! I have called direct and used open table to book I always get the same answer- they can’t reserve a table outside-first come basis then I get there see a table outside and they say - it’s reserved. This is upsetting since I considered myself equally as important as any other customer. My husband has a hearing problem and noise levels too high can ruins his night - that’s why I would like to eat outside- it is less noisy- you can hardly hear yourself inside
The server was Luke warm - the food was as good as all the others on the Ave I might take my dollars elsewhere
Best dinner we had during our stay in Delray Beach. Definiely will eat here when we return.
This is my favorite restaurant in Delray. It has a great vibe, friendly staff and great food.
Leaks in the rain and too noisy
As usual, City Oyster did not disappoint! We were celebrating my wife's birthday and met up with two other couples. We had drinks, sushi & oysters at the bar. Oh so delicious and fresh. Next we moved to a nice booth for dinner. I had the Hong Kong style roasted snapper. perfectly cooked and seasoned. Can't quite remember everyone's dish, but I do know every plate was clean by the end of dinner. We skipped dessert as we were all too full. Great beer / wine / cocktail selection. Needless to say, we were all very happy with our experience (as usual) and will be back real soon!
Great food and best server ever- Ashley is a gem. A bit noisy but lovely ambiance.
Fun atmosphere. Outside dining great for people watching. Service made the experience relaxing and very enjoyable.
Great food m, amazing Service and the staff that did a great job
Always great food. We recommend the Hong Kong snapper and vegetarian roll. Ask for Marisa as you server if possible. She is just great.
The risotto was the best I ever had. We tried to get in a few times but it was always busy. Now I see why! We will definitely go back!
The restaurant service was fantastic and friendly. The food was unbelievable and I always come to this place while in Florida.
Bar service was disappointing. My girlfriend is in recover, 34 years, she ordered club soda and cranberry juice. She got that with Grey Goose. She took one sip and realized the bartender made a mistake. Took a tool on her mind but she's okay. The bartender made the correct drink for her but you would think, at the very least, he wouldn't add it to the bill. He did!
Spending time w family. Had a fantastic waiter who was super knowledgeable about the menu and friendly as well. Loved our table because it was towards the back where it was less noisy.
Food was delish!!
Love the food....
Blackened Swordfish with little neck clams. Amazing!!
Went for my birthday and they made it very special for me!
The noise level in the inside dining area was too loud and frankly, ruined the experience. Good hardly hear the person across from you. Food was good but not worth the noise. Would be fine for outside dining but not otherwise.
This is the third time I have been to City Oyster on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Fl and I will say I have yet to have any criticism of the staff, the food, and the fantastic Sushi Chef, Steve.
The menu covers virtually all bases; steak, seafood, and the freshest and most delicious sushi combinations that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. All I can say is WOW! City Oyster is not to be missed when on Atlantic. Loud, busy, bustling and most vibrant of restaurants you wouldn't want to visit if you are looking for a romantic, cozy restaurant. But, if it's great food and dynamic personality, this restaurant should not be missed.
My husband and I had a 7:00 p.m. weekday dinner reservation . We arrived a few mins early . Several people we waited no to be seated . The noise level inside was horrendous . We asked if we could sit outside , and were told yes if we wanted to wait 25 mins . We decided that do that . At 7:30 they were able to seat us .
We were frowned into a 20 ish table outside seating area .
Wait staff was excellent. Fish , mahi mahi and red snapper were good ; vegetables ok .
I would not recommend this restaurant and they need to redesign their reservation system .
Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts! Seating out on the avenue was great. Good drinks, great ambiance.
Our recent visit to City Oyster was very disappointing. Our server just didn't seem to be present. Our order had to be taken twice and even then it wasn't correct when the food arrived. We've eaten there many times and it just doesn't seem to be as good as it once was.
It's funny that the Noise Level rating goes to "Energetic" not "Deafening." This is our second time dining here and unfortunately our last. It's just too loud, especially the tables across from the bar. Our food ran very late and our server was very cool about it and comped us another glass of wine, which was nice. But by that time I was so tired of screaming across the table, trying to have a conversation, that I just wanted to get out of there. It's definitely a DelRay hot spot, very fun and lively and the food is good.
Excellent food waitstaff was great. Most important reservation was honored. Definitely recommend the restaurant.
We have been coming here for a long time, anytime we are down in Delray. Everything I had, burrata and tomato salad and sushi, was delicious. My mom had a swordfish dish but it was over salted. Our server realized she didn't like it, made her tell her why and then took the entire meal off our bill! Super great service, great cocktails and good food. Sit outside for excellent people watching!
Food is great for seafood lovers. The noise, however, is painful.
Had a girls lunch date. Our waiter Dano was superb and attentive. Food was excellent. The blackened fish tacos were everything Dano promised. Will return soon.
We dined as two couples at City Oyster and Sushi Bar on a Monday night and found the wine, food, and service excellent. We liked the Caesar salad, tuna carpaccio appetizer, kale salad, sea bass special, Hong Kong style mahi maxi, and red snapper with polenta and rapini. The server, Rachel, was very helpful and pleasant, even though her stations were very full.
Reservation not honored in a timely way..45 minute wait for food to be served..prices too high for skimpy portions...noise level deafening. All in all, NOT an enjoyable dining experience. None of the 4 diners will return.
Haven't been here in awhile. I had pan seared Mahi with Jasmine Rice and glazed carrots. My buddy had grilled Swordfish with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Both dishes were well cooked and delicious.
City Oyster is my favorite restaurant in Delray Beaxh
Chef should go to the Original Pancake House and find out how to make flapjacks. Fluffy, not thin & flat. Waited 1 hour to get .our food. Deafening noise
It was superb as always. My friend and I started with a dozen Blue Point Oysters that was the best I've ever had. Plump and delicious. We were disappointed they don't serve saltines with them as we are accustomed but learned they make all the bread/pastries themselves. Several yummy sauces came with them. My friend had a waffle (it was Sunday Brunch) and the refillable bloody Mary that she enjoyed. I had a cold seafood dish with avocado, tuna, lobster etc. and it was huge and delicious.
The service was fabulous! Even during a busy “standard” brunch, our server and the chef made some minor but, important exceptions for us. The food was very good ...beyond what is generally accepted as brunch. The entire group was very satisfied ! Only downside was the noise of trains. We thought this was supposed to be a quiet zone for Brightline
