My wife’s birthday.
IT's a typical appearing tourist type spot, very noisy(loud people, kids)but our waitress was more professional than you would expect. She knew every food preparation and service was excellent. The Hamachi board was very good, also great crabcake. Unfortunately for a place with Oyster in the name you might expect a better oyster selection. Only 3 options and nothing West Coast. They have a good Happy Hour for Oysters and Drinks.
Waiter was very arrogant. Constantly reaching across table. Not sure where he was drug up but never learned manners.
Ashley was our waitress and she was amazing!! So fun and knowledgeable.
Food was wonderful!
Our server, James, made our first experience even better!
It was packed but the ambiance was fun and lively. Love the bartenders. Made a special trip to our table to sing Happy Birthday to our friend who we were celebrating. Really made our night
Noise level inside was terrible. Mahi mahi was over cooked and tasteless. Sushi was good. Out of Crab which is why we went there. Shrimp very small for the price.
Very loud - noise level makes it hard to talk. Otherwise, great food.
A total disappointment... the place is packed and buzzing and food was totally mediocre .
Great food! Fun atmosphere! Excellent grapefruit martinis! Very good wait staff!
Another enjoyable meal and evening at The Oyster! Great Sushi, Oysters and Clams and entrees.
City oyster Is one of our favorite local restaurants and always there for special occasions and out-of-town gas. Always great quality food and service! Love it! Best part, is that it is always consistently excellent
There were many fish selections. The raw oysters and clams were super fresh. The cooked fish was cooked to perfection. We sat outside, which was beautiful, but our table was on a definitive slant.
Nice environment. Ask for outside seating in nice weather.
Dined late this past Sunday evening, everything from start to finish was great. Will def be back back, peanut butter pie is must!
Food was great
Great Seafood Restaurant on the main street of Del Ray Beach. The dragon sushi was awesome hand crafted by the Sushi Chef on site. Owned by the same group as City Tavern on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, this is a wonderful dining spot to meet friends in Del Ray. The menu has a dining option for everyone! Love the big booths to sit and look out for people watching.
We were pretty disappointed overall. We’ve been here several times but this time we were celebrating our engagement with my parents. I put that in my reservation notes - no one ever mentioned it or congratulated us until we told the server. The manager wasn’t friendly at all- she didn’t introduce herself or really seem to care when our dry aged steak came out overdone. They had a new one made- but didn’t do anything to really make up for it which was frustrating since we were all done eating by the time his new steak came out. Our sever Steven was nice, but again the whole experience was just really disappointing.
Requested outside table. 2 tables were available while we waited and we were not seated at outside table. 1 reason a group ahead of us - and understood they were waiting before us. 2nd reason Group that got the table came after us and hostess just shrugged her shoulders. Extremely noisy where we sat could not hear a thing
Food special request could only be accommodated by charging for 2 full meals. Our waitstaff said chef doesn’t accommodate request made.
As always excellent food and service. Fun place!
After reading the write up in the Boca mag at the hotel I was psyched for incredible food. The food was mediocre at best. Everything tasted ok, but nothing I would say really stood out. Would not bother going back- not at all what I expected from a restaurant specializing in sushi. Price moderate. I would rather pay double and get really good food. I would recommend skipping this one.
A+ service, great raw bar & awesome food. Twin lobster tails were perfect! It’s loud, but fun. Booths are horribly uncomfortable
This was my second visit. The first time I thought the food was mediocre and the service was lacking. We decided to try again, but alas my first impression was correct. Nothing horrible...but at those prices the food should be better than mediocre. Outdoor dining table was pitched dramatically and things kept sliding off the table. Not what I expect from a place with $30+ entrees. I guess I’m in the minority because the place is always packed.
Against a background of an extremely loud bar crowd, four of us enjoyed our dinner at City Oyster and Sushi Bar. Tuna carpaccio appetizer would have been easier to eat if served sliced, but it was fresh and tasty. Our different IPAs were all cold and flavorful. We liked kale salad. Entrees of Hong Kong style mahi mahi and of snapper were well seasoned. Local yellow snapper was very good. Rare tuna was a little sinewy but otherwise good. Our server, Linda, remembered us from a previous dinner and was extremely pleasant and professional. We remembered that my husband liked wasabi with tuna carpaccio and brought it without our asking!
It's a great place to eat you get to see all the action on Atlantic Ave
Service was horrible. There must have been 4-5 major crashes, plates/glasses breaking. Our server dropped a glass on our table, it broke in a million pieces, then tipped over a glass and a bottle of beer. As she was trying to clean it up, it dripped all over me. Total disaster and we got NOTHING for it. Drink service was soooo slow and in general, the service was slow. Not very attentive server. It's too bad cause this place was recommended to me but I will NOT recommend it to anyone else!!
I love City Oyster. Great atmosphere. Always reliable for a good meal.
Wait staff was attentive, but entrees were overpriced. Oysters fresh as always. Misleading happy hour advertising.
Sunday afternoon packed and service was so slow. Everyone’s food was pretty good, but mine. I asked for tacos with the shell and I got three small pieces of fish! None of the extras that accompanied the tacos. Disappointed for sure.
LOVE LOVE LOVE CIRY OYSTER! Ashley the AMAZING! Love her 100%!! It’s always perfect at City Oyster with Ashley!
She just made the evening perfect as always. Thrilled to share the beginning of the birthday celebration with her! Thank you for a memorable night! 😘
Great seafood and sushi right on popular Atlantic Avenue. Although it was crowded on Saturday night we were able to be seated on time and the food was prepared quickly. It does get pretty loud, but it is a good restaurant with good service.
Eclectic decor. Spectacular ambiance. Great cocktails. Attentive bartenders and servers.
Extremely loud but lots of fun. Overpriced menu...
This was not the first time I had dined at this restaurant but not as enjoyable as the previous.
The noise level is so high even being at an outdoor table made it difficult to talk. The service was just ok as the servers seemed frazzled by the crowd.
Food is very good. However a request for gluten free veggies to go with fish dip was met with confusion and eventually told kitchen wouldn’t accommodate in spite of offer to pay extra for the cost.
Fish dip is excellent, drinks very good, Crudo delicious and sushi, oysters and salmon alll fresh and well prepared.
It’s VERY VERY loud inside Thur-Saturday nights, so be aware of that before booking (owners, you should do something acoustically about this). Love the varied, nice menu especially when going w a group cuz there’s something for everyone!
One of the best places for Sushi in South Florida.
We go every year. The food never disappoints. A consistent fine dining experience in a beautiful place...
The service was fabulous tonight!!
