Our dinner was fantastic! We loved every dish we ordered-the burrata, tuna, shrimp pasta, and salmon. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I’d definitely recommend it!
Great for foodies! The combination of flavors are very thoughtful. Good vibe in the restaurant too.
I ordered the eggs and bacon for lunch. The bacon was obviously cooked earlier in the morning. The hash browns tasted like the oil in which they were cooked. Valet was expensive
We shared shooters, potato bread, charred carrots, shrimp pasta, scallops, and caramel apple pie. Everything was tasty and creative. Only criticism: bread portion was too small for $8. Otherwise, fair value.
So sad that a restaurant with such a cool name and in a vibrant location can’t cut it. I will try again in 6 months
My husband and son had the salmon...they said it was good, but nothing special. I had the burger and it was delicious.
I really enjoyed our dinner at City Mouse. Our server, Leah, was awesome. We had three kids and two diet allergies and she was very accommodating, kind, patient and overall on point.
The food was great as well. The brussel sprouts were amazing.
We'll be going back soon!
From the moment we came into the restaurant we were treated wonderfully - our server Joe was knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond with a friend of ours that had a number of things she couldn’t eat and he worked with the chef to come up with several delicious dishes during the meal. It was the perfect backdrop for a friend’s gathering to catch up, drink wine and eat good food!
Our Christmas tradition of dinner at City Mouse continues!
5 Stars WOW from the food, to the ambiance, to the service. Everyone adored the avocado toast (so fresh) and brie with carmelized onions - yummmo. The burger was cooked just right. The butternut squash salad was an amazing vegan blend, with radicchio. The waitress said it was small, but it was filling. The ambiance is modern warm - and "I want to hang out with friends" place. Go!
Good food. The key lime cheesecake was awesome.
Our actress was helpful. But it would have been even better if she smiled lol.
Hotel looks nice and restaurant atmosphere is great. We just didn't like our food - 2 appetizers and 2 entrees each and all 4 were just OK or not good. Had avocado toast, chicken wings, burger, and shrimp pasta. Also - host was super nice but he didn't check us in for the Open Table so I got a "we missed you at City Mouse" email. I checked in under my name and the same guy even seated us so not sure why I didn't get checked in....We would come back only for drinks not for food.
Christmas. Waiter was beyond friendly and whole staff perfect
Delicioso! Súper casual, ambiente familiar. Recomiendo el “Avocato Toast”
We came to City Mouse for Christmas Day brunch. They did not disappoint!!! The drinks were amazing and the food was outstanding. Our waitress made some really great suggestions! The service was second to none! We are looking forward to coming back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the patio and rooftop bar!!!
Love this place! Food is always great and when you can sit outside on the patio, it's one of the best spsots in the city!
Really really limited menu — which is okay, if it means the items they do offer are great. Not so much. Salad was a mix out of bag, then they dump some odds and ends in it (not entirely sure it wasn’t a dressing out of a bottle) and shove it out the door. Really pretty lousy. On the upside, our server was really nice and attentive.
While I love the pups, as I am a dog owner, there was a very large dog barking over our lunch - more than 5-6 times was a little rough over a business meal. Be cautious choosing for business. Otherwise was great.
I had a terrific experience at City Mouse! The cuisine was delectable, the service was on point, and they seemed eager to accommodate us, even late in the evening. Thank you!
Great meal, great wine!
It was too loud for sunday brunch.
The food was very complex and original (at least, to me). Drinks were strong. So all in all, exactly what I was looking for.
Great food and service
Kudos to the chef for accomodating a good friend of mine who had recent oral surgery. The chef quickly and creatively made a couple of dishes to accomodate his need. Thank you, thank you for your kindness.
Being dog owners, it was very off putting to see dogs and hearing them bark in an inside enclosed restaurant... outside seating YES inside NO
The steak option was outstanding. There is no bread served with dinner. You can purchase bread as an appetizer. There are no side options (veggies etc).
I went the day after thanksgiving, so it may not have been a very good gauge. There was almost nobody there, it was so quiet and nice and we had a ton of service. The interior is chic.
Thank you for a wonderful family get together for Thanksgiving Day. We enjoyed our day, thanks to you! :)
Food was delicious! Service was good. Atmosphere was so-so.
Phenomenal food, great service. We had a group of 10-12 would definitely come back again.
Stayed at the Ace with my mom for a girls trip and wanted to get the full hotel experience so we decided spur of the moment to try City Mouse. Got a table right away on a busy Saturday night (the hostess was so sweet!). Joe was our server and had great cocktail recommendations and explained the dishes perfectly to help us choose between all the amazing sounds options. Our fave was the scallops with squash in a green curry sauce- YUM! We ended up taking dessert to our room and eating it in our bathrobes :)
Food was mediocre at best.
Service was rough.
Sat next to the servery/kitchen with the bright white light flashing every 2 minutes.
The service people decided to open and keep the door next to us open... uncomfortable.
Octopus was too chewy. Roasted carrots and garden salad were the best. Chicken wings were fine. No wow factor.
Extremely attentive service! The server was able to balance the urgency of feeding my 5 year old son and the slower pace of my mother. Not an easy trick. Some of the best pasta in the city!
I ordered pancakes and the bottom twould were burnt in places. Normally I would of brought it to their attention but I did not want to makes waves with my guests I was treating. Noise bad.
We went there as a celebration for my best friend's engagement. All the staff made her feel special and the food was top notch! Get addition to neighborhood :)
Meh. That is how I would sum up our trip. I had heard good things from friends, we were excited, we left pretty disappointed. Ambiance, nice in the front, the back dining area is completely boring. BLVD blows it out of the water for ambiance. Food, burger was phenomenal, country mouse, pretty good, tagliatelle.... pasta itself, good, shrimp was extremely fishy, scallops, rubbery, bland, gross. Wine list, boring, drinks, too fruity or too strong. This place seems to almost always miss the Goldilocks zone. The service was also lackluster. Our server answered everything with sarcastic, hipster-esque condescending tone. Just on the verge of being rude, but ok-ish enough so you feel like a drama queen if you complain. Just enough to put a ding in your good mood.
Bottom line, there are too many excellent establishments in the area to bother with this place. I highly suggest trying BLVD or Madison Bar and Kitchen.
Great find for our visit to Chicago. Great food and service.
