City Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful restaurant with beautiful and delicious food! We enjoyed all of our dishes, including the crispy calamari, the spicy brussels sprouts, and the bread. The hangar steak salad is, by far, the best steak salad I've ever eaten. So flavorful . . . just perfect. The butternut squash pizza is a must-try! So, so good! The apple tart with ice cream was pretty and delicious. We had an awesome server who was attentive and knew the menu well enough to make awesome recommendations. Can't wait to go back to City Kitchen!
We picked this restaurant after reading a review indicating that it was a good option for gluten free needs. We were disappointed that the menu did not indicate which options were gluten free. The server was also not familiar with which dishes were gluten free, but did ask the chef and eventually returned with his recommendations. Overall, this did not inspire great confidence regarding the attention to gluten free needs. However, in our party of 6, everyone enjoyed their selections and our gluten free guest dined with no ill effects.
The food is quite good, but very high priced for the portion size. I have been here twice and both times went home hungry (and I weigh 110 lbs). The noise level made it impossible to hear those sitting across the 4 person table and the waiter was over constantly asking for our order, our dessert request, etc. as if he was rushing us to get out from the second we arrived. I doubt I will return, though my meal (risotto) was delicious.
I had Thanksgiving lunch at City Kitchen. The place was packed. The food was only okay. I think its hard to control the quality of a buffet and should have known better to think a buffet would be acceptable for Thanksgiving since I don't like buffets any other time of the year.
The Thanksgiving buffet was not up to City Kitchen's normal quality and standards. I'll continue to eat there for other meals but wouldn't go there again for a Thanksgiving buffet.
We have been to this restaurant multiple times over the last few years. The food was always ok and it was always easy to get a table. During this visit my wife ordered two sushi rolls. When they arrived my wife went to take a bite of one and a bug walked out of it. Suffice it to say she did not eat it. We told the waiter this and he did not seem to care and the manager was not even notified when we complained. I had to ask twice to have the sushi rolls taken off from my bill. Due to this we will never go back to this restaurant
City Kitchen is a tried-and-true standby for before or after movies, performances, or plays. The service is nearly always very good, staff are friendly, portions and prices are reasonable. Easy parking is an added plus. The bar menu varies from the regular menu, so you should also give that a try. We had the shrimp bisque, Greek salad, and risotto. The food, drinks, and wine were all very excellent. I don't understand why they keep giving tomato paste with their nice bread (why not some olive oil?), but that's their thing.
Our server was great but.....
Did not like bread & “tomato paste” spread
Flatbread was not a crisp crust & we just didn’t care for the flavor of our Margarita flatbread choice
( & I love most margarita pizzas!)
My hubby’s vodka martini was the tiniest pour I have ever seen! Our great server did take it back & brought back a normal size drink.
Good, not great. That's what my husband and I both said as we were leaving City Kitchen the other night. My short rib was dry and not "fall apart" tender as it should be. There were numerous brussel sprouts on my plate but they were not cooked through. I do like most of my veggies al dente but not my brussel sprouts. My husband's trout was 2 very thin fillets . Both dishes could have been hotter. The prices of both were higher than they should have been.
I chose the restaurant specifically for the steak, it was very good. The side dish of fries were terrible, burnt and soggy w/grease. The dessert menu lacked choices, didn't have cheesecake or brownie with scoop of ice cream. Atmosphere, service, steak were all very good, a little overpriced.
