Always a good choice for a quiet-ish lunch with plenty of time to sit and talk. Unfortunate to see how many patrons are staying away due to Covid-19 concerns.
Dined here with friends, service & food were great. A tad pricy.
Everything was great. Service was excellent. A spicy tuna roll was on point and our two entrées were equally as good. My friend had the lamb and I ordered the trout.
Excellent service, tasty healthy options and a great table to celebrate a friends birthday. Thank you!
One of our favorite places in Chapel Hill; we go often. Spacious without feeling cavernous, good for business or informal lunch and dinner any time, great bar scene, best outdoor patio around. Recent visit for early dinner before theater was great. Nice table, cheerful server. Limited but interesting wine list with some nice ones by the glass. Favorite app is Fried Artichokes - tender quarters in a light and crispy coat with tasty lemony dip. We both had fish, the trout from the menu and a flounder special. Both delicious; fish perfectly cooked, interesting accompaniments. I liked the trout preparation better than the flounder but only because the cheese in the rice/orzo under it didn't work for me, a matter of purely personal taste. The chocolate bombe was impressive! The riff on apple tart was a nice combo, great caramel sauce, but the puff pastry should have been crisper; it was leathery, hard to cut. All in all a very good visit. We'll certainly keep coming back.
Good Service. Okay Food for the price. Bread was overcooked, meat was great.
Love this place. The atmosphere is just as fun and enjoyable as the food. They were very receptive to hosting a large group as well.
First time sitting at bar for drinks and dinner. Great wine and food!
Great food but incredibly slow service. Took over an hour for our food to come.
Disappointing experience. Plate delivery person was pretty clueless. One of us ordered a burger, they mistakenly brought a kids burger - which had been sitting under the lights forever, and it was harder than it should be to raise the issue. They finally said they would take care of it on the bill, but instead of removing the charge they just charged us for a kids burger. Really?? Also without going into detail our waiter was clearly not well trained. I don’t blame the staff; I consider this a management issue and similar to other issues we’ve had there in the past. This place could be good but is just not well run.
I was surprised that we were seated in the back of the restaurant close to the bathrooms despite having a reservation. Also, I had noted on the reservation that this was a birthday dinner and no special recognition was given. The food however was excellent.
service was terrible & the noise level made it difficult to talk
Slow service. Catch of the Day ran out and I was served something else without the opportunity to decline.
Food was great but service was not that impressive. Had to ask for things numerous times and received a reply that someone else was getting it or oh yea I’ll be right back but then still didn’t get what we asked for. I ordered a beer and never received it AT ALL. I was really not impressed with the level of millennial style service staff that have no desire to actually do their job good, but in true millennial fashion just deliver the bare minimum.
I have eaten here many times and I am always impressed with the menu selection and the quality of the ingredients. There is a good bar scene usually and the clientele ranges from young professionals to mid-50s.
First time at this restaurant. Good food service and value.
Best steak I’ve had in a long time.
My group visited on a Saturday morning and were disappointed that brunch is only served on Sundays. However, they do offer shrimp and grits and a frittata on the regular menu. Everything we tried, we enjoyed. Also our server Alex was one of the highlights of the experience.
Our food took 30 minutes to come out and when it was delivered, my steak was cold and we were missing sides of aus ju and pea puree. My steak was taken back and we were told that they would get the sauces. Once they brought the steak back we were told the sauces were being made and would be right out. We then saw that my steak was undercooked and sent it back again. It was better when brought back, but still slightly undercooked. 30 minutes after we received the food we were then told we would not be getting any sauce as they were out. Overall this was a very disappointing meal that we had high hopes for.
Vibrant and energetic atmosphere supported by amazing food.
This was an adorable place my wife and I spent Valentine's Day at. The server was a joy to be around and the food felt refreshing and delicious. We ordered sushi samplers and loved the fish. I did think the combination Italian-Americano with Korean cuisine made for an interesting menu, but the food is well prepared all around and we left happy, full, and satisfied!
Amazing table with a view of music and the lower dining area. Enjoyed the Valentine’s Day menu for two.
Went to City Kitchen for Valentine’s Day dinner - the food was way too salty and the service left a lot to be desired. Our server seldom checked on our table and didn’t clear our plates. The dipping sauce for the calamari tastes store bought and the frites were definitely frozen. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and not worth the $100 bill.
The atmosphere is great, plenty of parking, comfortable seats, awesome menus, a tad on the noisy side but that was from people in the bar watching a basketball game.
A Local Dining Treasure for Family and Friends. The wait staff and all are wonderful as well as the food!
Table was ready when we got there—a little early.
Food and service was excellent.
The only thing, the 3 of us were seated at a small round table outside. There was absolutely no place to put my legs under the table because of the way it was made. (obviously should be a table for 2 only).
Service was prompt and food was very good. We had one of the specials for the night. Very enjoyable. We were not rushed.
We always enjoy our meals at CK. Unfortunately, a large and celebratory party was seated right behind us, which made it very difficult to hear my luncheon companion. Next time--a booth in the front of the restaurant, will be requested! My companion enjoyed the shrimp po boy & I, the Greek Salad with grilled shrimp. The staff and management were very attentive & accommodating. We'll be back!
The food was alright. I wish they had better sounding vegetarian options. Everything we had was delicious and our waitress was a delight.
fair, beef not good, salmon good, waitress excellent
Great time with friends I haven't seen for awhile.
Food was outstanding. Service a little slow probably due to restaurant week. Will definitely be back.
Food was delicious and wait staff attentive. The noise level seemed to rise considerably as it got later in the evening.
Wonderful vibe, great service, delicious food! I can't say enough about my experience.....will be back next time I am in Chapel Hill!
Love the VIBE. Celebration space without celebration NOISE! Food is fabulous. Service is attentive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at City Kitchen. I think they stepped up their flatbread pizza game because it was absolutely wonderful, had lots of toppings. Far better than a previous visit. It was delicious the next day too! But we have always enjoyed City Kitchen and had a fun night there. The special salads were winners too! Did I mention the wine? Delicious! Service was grand as well, our waiter knew exactly what he was doing and it showed. See you again City Kitchen!
Some unique dishes and everything was high quality.
Great brunch. Terrific service.
