We had a great experience at City Grille- everyone was so friendly and even showed their raw bar expertise by informing us about the different regions and the oysters (how they’d taste) and even providing info on when certain regions would open back up for selling oysters and what shut them down to begin with- very educational.

Ceasar salad , mussels appetizer and desserts especially the limoncello cake were very good. Very noisy restaurant and was a bit too cold where we were seated. They messed up our drink orders but got it right the second time.

We didn’t know what to expect, so we thought we would give it a try. Glad we did and we’ll be back. I had the pasta with seafood which was excellent, no shortage of seafood including lobster in a delicious light sauce. My wife had the filet with the oscar preparation with crab hollandaise and asparagus. It was one of the best steaks she’s ever had, cooked perfectly, and plenty of crab. The service was top notch with Olivia as well as the other servers we had contact with. Highly recommend dinner at City Grill.

The first few times we visited City Grill it was fantastic. It has slipped. Now it’s ok but not the great place we first knew. I’m not sure what’s missing, maybe ambiance & the food. It just didn’t have the flair, the taste. Disappointed.

First time here since it opened. People were so friendly and accommodating. Quiet place to have lunch and catch up with friends. Food was delicious and server did an amazing job. Can’t wait to come back for dinner next time.

Took friend for her birthday and the service was wonderful. Very attentive but not to the level of interfering with our conversations. Recommendations for the Iberico Pork turned out to be great unique one. I will definitely go back again.

Oh my…we will be back. It started with the charcuterie & Spanish octopus. Continued with the ribeye, frutti de mare pasta, halibut & the scallops. And ended with the limoncello cake, black & tan, and crème brûlée. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted divine. The atmosphere was pleasant & relaxed. The service was excellent & we were provided with great recommendations.

Having moved to the Jacksonville area from South Florida, I am thrilled to have found this gem. There are many great places to dine in Jax, but nothing has knocked us off our feet. Nothing has compared to some of the restaurants we frequented in FTL and MIA. Well, we now have our place, and City Grille is it. I happened upon this fabulous establishment when trying to make reservations for Thanksgiving. Even on a day when many restaurants throw quality out the door and focus on quantity, this place is as classy and delightful as can be.

Service was on point, but food overall was good, not great. My husband’s flounder wasn't hot. Plate wasn’t hot, meal seemed to have been left to sit for sometime after prepared. We’ve had such a great service and food experiences at 11 South, our expectations were high and this meal left us disappointed, especially for the price.

We have eaten at this restaurant several times since it opened few months ago. Ambiance is terrific. Food was wonderful this time as it has been every time we have been there. Our server, Griffin was awesome. Overall another great eating & drinking experience. This has become our favorite upscale go to restaurant. Great experience from when we enter to exit. Even the valet parking person terrific.

The service provided by Sydney was great. Oyster selection was remarkable from Nova Scotia down to Virginia, Chilean Sea Bass special was perfectly prepared. They have a wide selection of wines and caviar. The owners of 11 South have done an awesome with City Grill!

I really enjoyed the appetizers, the Ahi Tuna and the Oysters were great! My rack of lamb was undercooked but I didn't send it back, just mentioned to the waitress to pack it and I would cook it more at home. They were ordered medium and were just passed rare. The noise level is a bit overwhelming when it is dinner time and they are busy, but otherwise, the staff was great! Love the new look -

It was my 2nd time there and the food & Burrata was good but a little bland. It would have been better if it was served with either Italian bread or similar and had more flavor. The Frutti di Mare Pasta is to die for. So delicious and an ample portion. We will definitely be back.

Food was excellent - and was service (though the presentation on the charcuterie left a bit to be desired). Baked oysters were standouts. Unfortunately, front of house management doesn’t maintain an ambiance of fine dining when large groups are allowed to be extremely loud with no regard for other diners. A couple was also seated near us and the gentleman was extremely loud and rude - yet staff made no efforts to minimize the distraction. All of the diners in our area were irritated and we all kept giving each other understanding looks. If Intended to be an option on par with Matthew’s, Orsay or Rue St Marc, then the dining experience and ambiance should be managed so all diners can enjoy the experience. That behavior would never be tolerated at those establishments so hopefully this is just a learning experience for front of house staff.

Felt very cramped in the small room in the back left. Tables were very close together and the room was full and very noisy because everyone was talking loudly to hear over people. This doesn’t bode well for the older crowd this restaurant attracts. Food and drinks were good. Service is was excellent.

My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary and we had a lovely time. Our server was knowledgeable and very amicable. We had as appetizers the Escargot in a tarragon scampi butter and toasted crostini and the Spanish Octopus, both were amazing, but the octopus was my favorite. I ordered the Cape Cod Diver Scallops which consisted of 4 seared U-10 scallops, lemon thyme risotto, prosciutto wrapped green beans and a yellow tomato coulis (the coulis was simple, yet amazing). Everything was on point, but the risotto was a bit overcooked for my taste. My husband ordered the Japanese A5 Wagyu NY strip with a side of the Argentinian Red Shrimp and Lemon Thyme Risotto. He enjoyed his meal and part of mine! He also thought the risotto was overcooked but ate it. The taste though, was good. My husband is a Bourbon drinker and was not impressed with their selection of Bourbons, as it was very limited. Love the look of place. I would definitely go to this amazing restaurant again.

I’m so glad we checked out this place! The service was exceptional - attentive, knowledgeable, and so friendly. Cory was our server and he took excellent care of us and was supported by a great team. The managers stopped in to check on us and thank us for coming. The food was outstanding, too. I will definitely be back.

What an awesome place for a nice dinner. We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and were told our table wasn’t ready yet but we could have a seat in the lounge, which was very cool, and perfectly fine with us. The bartender was very attentive and came right over. before I even got my glass of wine our table was ready. Food was excellent!! We had the salmon tartare and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. Entrees we’re seafood with pasta and scallops, risotto and prosciutto wrapped green beans.

I think they were ill-prepared for a huge influx of diners following last Friday's Symphony Coffee Concert. Service was extremely slow and food was cold. We asked for a burger with no mushrooms and it was obvious someone scraped off the mushrooms before presenting the meal. It will take me a while to consider returning.
