We were looking for a place to celebrate a birthday, preferably somewhere we had not previously dined. While that can always be tricky, the menu looked good with quite a few options and the location was reasonable to reach (right after rush hour) and they had both off street parking and valet service. City Grille exceeded my expectations! Our waiter, Pasha, was excellent. He explained all the food options and explained that the chef could accommodate pretty much any food allergies, even making several dishes with vegetable stock rather than using a meat stock. The meal was leisurely and not rushed. We spent nearly 2.5 hours having dinner and to be clear, the courses were served in a timely manner, but we were able to eat each course without feeling rushed. We'll definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and will return.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect beyond the great reviews we’d read—but our experience went above and beyond. We arrived a bit early for our 5pm reservation, which gave us the chance to enjoy Happy Hour in the cozy, ambient blue room. The food, drinks, and service were all top-notch. If you’re an oyster lover, don’t miss the “Nola” oysters—they were absolutely outstanding. When it was time for our reservation, we were seated promptly. Our server, Chris, was attentive, understood our schedule, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Once again, the food was excellent. A fantastic experience from start to finish.

Our first visit to City Grille and it will definitely not be our last. Chris provided excellent service and information on the menu. My wife said the tuna tartare was the best she has had. My scallops were cooked perfectly and the bed of light sauce was flavorful. Wine choices were very good and the entry bar looked like a great stop before our next meal.

Oysters were delicious as well as the filet and grouper entrees. Delicious chocolate mousse cake desert!! Superior service. Great ambiance! Highly recommended!!!

Our food was excellent and our server friendly, knowledgeable and professional The bar looks amazing, would definitely like to visit there another time. But we were seated in the first dining room (just beyond the bar area) and if we return, I will request seating in the back dining room. The front dining room is mostly tables side by side in a long, shallow alcove. There are, I believe, 3 tables for 2 with a table for 4 between each. It does not make for intimate dining - it is, in fact, the opposite.. You cannot speak freely without tables on both sides being right on top of your conversation (and vice versa - NEVER my goal, can't stand that, especially in fine dining.) It would be perfect if they took out the fourtops in the alcove and simply added one more double, which would allow them all more privacy. (That would be much easier for the servers as well, who have to maneuver a bit to get close enough to each table to serve without being in the laps of adjacent diners.) The alcove is also the style of dining which is flat against the wall so that someone (half the party) faces the wall the entire time, which feels a little claustrophobic to me, but I realize it probably doesn't bother others. The other tables in the front dining area would be fine, but this night they were put together banquet-style in a long line for a large group. Otherwise, the meal was wonderful If you have a couple of drinks, an appetizer and dessert, be prepared to pay about $100pp before tip.
