   Staff very accommodating. We had a party of 20 people. Food was great and staff continually checked on our needs. Great menu selection and fast service.

   The chicken and waffles were amazing! Mimosas were delicious. Staff was friendly, but a little slow, and the diner was very crowded. The bathroom was in an unspeakable state…quite gross-but was handled right away when we notified our server. Overall a great meal, but I think the atmosphere needs some work.

   The server was also the bartender and did know how to mix drinks well. They were also understaffed but our waiter and the manager were accommodating

   Fathers Day and the recent lifting of most COVID-related restrictions brought many to City Diner this past weekend. The Diner was busy throughout our morning/early afternoon visit. That said, we were still seated promptly upon arriving and attended to right away. Water came to the table within minutes and our orders were also promptly taken. Our waitress was very courteous and attentive, even with the busy FD gatherings. She made sure even the little things were covered (e.g., a side order of bacon brought her question of "would you like that crispy or soft"....in my 62 years I have never heard that question; it was a welcome surprise and showed a level of customer satisfaction that is rarer and rarer these days). We each ordered from the breakfast menu...primarily blueberry pancakes and vegetable omelets. We were all happy with our meals. The Diner is pricier than most "diners" but clearly is not your typical diner either decor wise (a step above) or service wise, as we experienced it (again, a step above).

   Run. Just run far far away from this place. The poor service reviews are correct. I have never seen such poor service and mismanagement in years and years of eat out regularly across the US. While their computer ordering system crashed and needed to be rebooted--not their fault--neither the waiter nor the floor manager seemed able to take our order the old fashioned way...you know, pen and paper. And so, an hour later still no food and no hospitality. No one bothered to check in with us or even offer some water for the table. I have a few ideas as to why we were ignored but /I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to technology and failed problem-solving skills. When we packed up our stuff to head for the door, it was THEN that the waiter came scrambling over seemingly able to take the order. PASS! The mistake I made was waiting around so long. Hopefully my mistake will be your gain. Head over to Hudson and Co or Sam AM where the technology works and your patronage, regardless of colour, is more than welcome.

   Service was good, but food was bland. This place is probably best for breakfast, not dinner items.
