Usually very quiet dining. That night was very busy so the noise level was much higher. Dining experience from food to service was excellent even in a packed house!

Had brunch at City Cafe because to be frank the options for dining in Yuba City are VERY limited and we did not wish to travel an hour for a meal. We had satisfactory experience previously with lunch, brunch, and dinners. Entire experience was satisfactory and what we've become accustomed to in our small town. Worst part of the meal was the extraordinary wait time to order and receive both drinks and food...we were there for TWO hours. Upside was we never felt rushed. Food itself was not anything to comment on. In summary, it was a good location in town and no wait for reservations with food and service that is what would be expected for Yuba City which ticked all of our boxes.

My friend and I had heard about City Cafe from a friend so we decided to make a reservation and stop on our way home from Sacramento, as we live up in Chico. Our dinner was fantastic! We both had the house salad which came with our entree. It was delicious.... cold, crisp with delicious dressings and crisp vegetable in it. I ordered the sautéed prawns with polenta. The polenta was creamy and of the perfect consistency. The shrimp were in a wonderful sauce and cooked to perfection. She had the duck in a pomegranate sauce, served over polenta with broccolini on the side. The duck was exquisite! The prices were reasonable, especially considering soup or salad were included. We didn't try dessert but i'm sure they're also great. I can't wait to go back!

The food was delicious. The service was wonderful. The ambience was calm and soothing. We did not feel rushed and truly enjoyed our meal.

A lovely dinner with friends. We each shared a meal...steak was very good. We weren't hurried and the noise level was low enough so we could converse easily.

Overall our dining experience was good, the service was good, food was very good however portions were on the small side. I understand that when one dines at a more upscale restaurant one pays premium prices for cocktails however, I was taken aback when we ordered the dinner special for the night which was the filet mignon that came with a choice of salads or soup. The dinner menu had the same entree for $48.00 as a regular item, I did not understand the price increase for it being "A special of the evening" for an additional $12.00 per person. I guess I need to ask the price of the special, lol.

Now under new ownership the City Cafe has returned to the quality, service and elegance it had been noted for. The place in Yuba City for fine dining it is great to have it back. Excellent craft cocktails, uniquely prepared menu items and many fresh local ingredients put dining here on a close par to the famous farm to fork eateries in Sacramento. Beautiful outdoor patio dining is a nice option and the indoor formal mural room offers elegance and style. We enjoyed the garden salad and calamari steak entree along with a great house made dessert. I encourage people to visit and enjoy the locally owned and operated fine dining establishment.

A jewel of a restaurant. An oasis in yuba city where none exist. Ambiance, food, service are top notch. I try to eat there every couple of weeks.

We made a reservation for the brunch on Saturday morning. Great service, comfortable patio area, and very good food. Servers were attentive without being constantly in your face. If you’re looking for large full plate quantities of food, this is not the place. I don’t mean that in a negative way. I’m just saying if you want piles of breakfast potatoes and an omelet the size of the plate, go to Black Bear Diner. City Cafe is a more intimate dining experience and I would definitely recommend it. I had the garden omelet, which was very good. My friend had the carnivore omelet and he said it was quite good.

The restaurant is beautiful. It appeared the restaurant was understaffed today and service was slow. The food was excellent but the portion was literally toddler sized. I ordered the bacon quiche and it did taste amazing but the portion was tiny! The side salad was literally two fork bites and the side of fruit was what you’d give a toddler. Not sure what’s going on with the portions as we have eaten at the restaurant in the past and this was my first experience with baby size portions. I literally left still hungry… and the restaurant offered no dessert.. it’s Father’s Day and no dessert? Sadly, I was disappointed with this dining experience.

I super enjoyed my evening meal at City Cafe. I appreciated that I could make reservations online for outside dining. Only problems were the annoying loud cars and motorcycles cruising up and down Plumas. Excellent food, great tasting, and perfect amount served. Excellent service.

I love the open table to make reservations! The City Café was recently opened by the amazing Toni Ruiz who has hospitality down to an art! Our waiter was Nate an absolute delight to have served us. The short ribs over mashed potatoes.. well simply divine. We will be back over and over again!

The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating. I called a day in advance to ask about vegan options and they were happy to provide a few tasty options. The food was excellent and the cocktails / wine is surprisingly reasonably priced.
