The New Cafe at Greystone Gardens
(organic farm) served vv/vegetable skewer, lebanese fried rice, & tzatziki
tuscan mix, goat cheese, toasted walnuts, fresh orange, citrus vinaigrette
Absolutely delicious yet again! Thank you.
Although I had a confirmed reservation for my wife and me, upon arriving we found the place was unavailable to us as they had the entire restaurant booked for a private party and had no explanation for our reservation which of course was made and confirmed through Open Table.
The service, food, menu, and ambience were excellent. The maitre’d was impressive and welcoming. Beautiful venue sitting on the gravel terrace.
Accommodated dietary requests . Mostly good. Some foods highly seasoned, some bland . Coffee was warm, not hot.. not a great ending.
Always good food and great service
Will definitely dine there again.
The lamb was excellent.
Always a pleasure
Open Table took my reservation and sent a confirmation email. We arrived only to find the restaurant was only open for lunch on Wednesday. Not dinner....drove 30 minutes to find the restaurant closed.
Great Atmosphere - - - Warm and Friendly staff. Healthy Generous portions cooked to perfection. Will definitely return!!!
Always good. Great place!
Always a pleasure to dine here
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The fig flatbread was amazing!
Excellent food, pleasant surroundings, and excellent service. A wonderful place for lunch or dinner. Good choices for vegetarians as well.
I would actually recommend the New Cafe w/ reservations. Three of us had dinner on Wed at 5:00. Only one other table was occupied. The server seemed inexperienced, didn't visit the table often enough, timing was completely "off", re: cocktail order, dinner order. The most confusing: a basket of soft pita. Nothing to spread or dip. Pita is non-appealing w/o a dipping sauce or spread. When we asked, no explanation. We asked for bread then. Bread was hard and dry, no butter offered. Not edible. I ordered a crab appetizer, excellent. we all ordered a roasted beet salad/walnuts/goat cheese. Dressing was very good but beets were NOT roasted and were served in big chunks w/ no dressing on them. I roast my own beets, these chunks were too big. My friends ordered a stuffed mushroom entree. Both said it was Ok-good. I ordered a crab cake. Before the entrees arrived, the owner Dominick came out to tell us he understood we had a problem or two. I explained, he brought out dipping sauce, not enough oil to spices, too strong and pungent for the pita and we had already had our first course. By the time we finished listing our concerns, I started on my crab cake. Good amt of crab, not interesting "cake" tho. and potatoes were overdone/almost black and asparagus was too wilted to eat. I took it home, ate the crab the next day. Dessert: One piece of a Tira mae su (spelling?) and my friend ordered that. She said it wasn't as good as the Olive Garden. The other dessert that the server recommended was gone. So two of us had no dessert. I like the effort of serving clean, simple, good food and I can see the intention is good but they either don't have their act together on Wednesday or ........
Food was excellent!!! Food choices were diverse but all with Mediterranean flair! And Fresh and many homemade dishes. Owner/host was very friendly and amiable. Service was prompt helpful and friendly!! Upscale atmosphere with reasonable prices!
The atmosphere is very much a selling point for me. Outdoor dining is tucked away among a landscaped area adjacent to the garden center. Everything in Grey Stone is close by but divided out by rooms. It wasn’t even evident how close the parking lot was to where we were eating.
The food was quite good. It’s a lot of fresher fare than I’m used to getting when I’m in the Scranton area and that was appreciated.
We had the opportunity to sit outside on a glorious night taking in the flowers and greens for a perfect night.
We were very happy to learn of and dine at the New Cafe. The setting is serene and green surrounded by Greystone Gardesns. The restaurant was not too busy and the noise level was very comfortable with Middle Eastern music playing softly in the background. We started with a complimentary plate of cheese, pickles and olives served with pita bread. We tried the small size Mediterranean sampler plate which would have been plenty for 3 or 4 people. Everything was good, especially the baba ghanosh. We each had a salad, pear and fig for me and beet for my husband. They were a good size and we enjoyed both. For entrees we had branzino filet and salmon which were nicely prepared but by this time we were almost full and wanted to save room for dessert so we took enough for another meal home. For dessert we tried the coconut macaroons and an almond custard wrapped in phyllo. They were also delicious. We will be back.
Was not impressed with the salad; beets were bland; better if incorporated into salad as dressing. Candied walnuts not fresh.
The garden setting was lovely and comfortable. It was perfect for a delicious salad plate of the freshest vegetables complemented by tasty meat pies. Add refreshing cocktails and complete with coffee and a beautiful plate of Mediterranean desserts for a pleasant dining experience. The cafe never disappoints.
Service was great, salads and appetizers very good. Thelobster ravioli was good, however, the crab cakes were very disappointing. I was surprised cause I know they were very good for lunch the week before. It was like someone else made them. I was unhappy with them.
This is a hidden gem! Location is very unique, as it is located in a garden center. That is a great thing as one can walk around the beautiful landscape. Restaurant is cozy. Service was very good and most importantly the food delicious. Definitely worth checking out.....you won't be disappointed.
Very accommodating staff. Excellent large beet salad, huge delicious steak and seafood, lovely desserts in a very relaxing atmosphere.
Food, service, ambience are all excellent. Dominick the owner is so very welcoming and oversees all aspects of your dining experience.
We love the New Cafe. It is our “go to” dining spot whenever we have guests in Clark’s Summit. We especially enjoy sitting outside on the patio in the Spring & Summer. Eating delicious food surrounded by gorgeous flowers & twinkling lights is such a calming, centering way to share a meal.
Thank you, Jennifer. Hope to see soon outside Dominic
Dom, the owner and bartender, was very accommodating and friendly. Our meals were delicious with a mid-eastern accent to them. It's in a convenient location and we'd certainly go back there again.
Thank you, John for your kind review. Hope to see you again and soon
I always enjoy bringing out of town guests here. It is especially pleasant when you can enjoy the beauty outside because of the garden setting, but I have been here in every season. The Middle Eastern fare makes for delightful and tasty fare at both lunch and at dinner.
The beet salad was superb -- so fresh and balanced in flavors, the crab cakes loaded with crab and flavor, and the desserts were delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were made to my request. The total dining experience was relaxing and totally enjoyable. Looking forward to a return visit soon.
Food was amazing as well as service. Venue is quiet, very cozy amd picturesque. All around great. A must try for sure!
THANK YOU, MARGY. YOUR COMMENTS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED. HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON.
This was a great place to come for lunch with friends (although I’ve also found it wonderful in the evening.) I love the Mediterrranean food. Would only ask that the hot tea be hot!
My husband and I don't get out too often. This was a great place to talk to each other. It was not noisy. The food was different from what we are used to but delicious. We do like to try something different on occasion and this fit the bill. The service was excellent. We would go back again.
Very good experience. It was our first dinner at The New Cafe We had a very enjoyable evening
Set in Greystone Garden Center, New Cafe is a favorite dining spot. A comfortable setting, excellent service and a menu from which you cannot go wrong (plus daily specials) provides for a relaxing meal at an affordable price. Bonus. If by some chance you cannot eat your whole portion, take out containers are cardboard...recycling appreciated.
This place is a hidden gem - fantastic food and service.
Wonderful vegan/vegetarian choices. Attentive service.
Very pleasant restaurant! Our second time there. Was able to get vegan entre and beet salad was delicious !
We had a wonderful time and a Fabulous Dinner .... The Mousaka [Eggplant] dish was very good .... The owner was there to wait on us and he is very very hospitable .... Make a reservation and go have lunch or dinner here .... You will not be disdisappointed !!
Amazing food, superior presentation and fantastic flavors! Highly recommend!
Very nice quiet restaurant. The person on duty was great and explained the various dishes to us. It was fun trying the different Mediterranean foods. We will definitely be back. Also, the desserts were great.
