The salads were only ok. The Ceasar salad was a huge disappointment . The lamb burger was over cooked too.

The grilled Bronzini dinner was excellent and so was the tuna . It was a busy Friday evening but it was expected . Will return .

City Cafe never disappoints! Great vibe, terrific menu, and an amazing staff. A true gem in the Mount Vernon neighborhood.

This was absolutely a horrible experience. We brought our kids out for Valentine's Day and could have just saved our money. The food, especially the chicken, was under-cooked and cold. The waiter was very inattentive and had to keep asking other workers for various items. Management did nothing to rectify the situation and also had just microwaved food that we sent back because it was cold.

I brought my dad here for breakfast before heading to the auto show. We do annual father/daughter auto show trip - either baltimore or philly. We walked in and he was instantly blown away by the jazz music playing.

He ordered the angry omelet and his reaction after the first bite sealed the deal. He couldn't stop expressing how great the food was. It was like with each bite it got better. I can't tell you if it was good because there was no sharing to be had.

My crab benedict was amazing. I didn't think it was going to be filling but my goodness it was.
Also the large mimosa...was spot on.

I can't wait to come back for another brunch or happy hour to try more food.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience. On my way out the door ,my date and I were asked if we left a payment, which was clearly on the table with a tip .

We went to City Cafe before a show at the Lyric. It was a busy night with several shows in the area. The staff was sensitive to our time as they are used to a "show" crowd. Our food took a little longer than expected but they were very attentive and we felt like they took care of the situation quite well. Always recommend City Cafe

I like this place. Plenty of variety on the menu; helpful staff; diverse clientele; sensitivity to curtain time at the Symphony. We were seated next to an area with a private party and the noise level was high for us.

I almost always eat at City Cafe before attending the Baltimore Symphony. I look forward to eating there as much as going to the concert. I often get their crispy fried oysters (so good) and a wonderful salad such as their harvest salad with nuts, dried fruits, goat cheese, etc. I love their lamb burger and lots of other regular menu items. Their servers are perfect!

They kindly turned down the music for us and accommodated a requested change of ingredients. AND took photos of our group when our 80 yr old uncle asked. Lovely.

This place has two levels of service - ok and awful. We had the later. The food used to be good enough to compensate for the service. Lately, not so much.

Baltimore Cafe has to be the most constant restaurant in Baltimore. Service and food are always first class. We love dining there.

My family went to city cafe to celebrate my aunts birthday. The food and drinks were great! The service wasn’t. Our waitress was very confused and messed up on our drinks and check multiple times. Other than that the atmosphere was great.

The City Cafe is usually reliable for both service and food quality. Unfortunately, on this night, the service was not good. It took almost 25 minutes to get our cocktails. Both our appetizer and dinners were delivered in that time span. When I tried to explain to the food runner that we haven’t received our drinks and we were about 3/4 through our appetizer, she blatantly asked if we wanted our dinners or not. The server did offer a dessert for our patience with the drinks. I will go back to City Cafe because I’m hoping this was an one time occurrence.

Just a perfect place to have a delicious meal. First time back after traveling and it was great to be back to this lovely restaurant. The essentials have stayed the same; delicious food, great wine and cocktails, and outstanding service. What more could you want?!?!

Disappointed...I have previously had great experiences here but this last visit was not a good one. Our waiter was attentive through the point of ordering, then disappeared and never returned until he brought the check. My chicken was underdone - major issue - and he never stopped by to check on our food so that I could make him aware of this issue. We also ran out of water (no refills) and had no opportunity to order drink refills. At this point, not planning to return any time soon.

Quickie Review!: The service and ambiance is always top notch. Folks dress from casual to dressy, but everyone feels welcomed. The food is good, but the menu doesn't offer any "knockout" dishes. The specialty cocktails are inventive and consistently tray tasty.
