The food was great as well as the service!
Group of 12 for Saturday brunch. Everything was excellent! Nice city vibe, parking on street nearby, very friendly and professional staff. Nice menu selection and everyone enjoyed their meal.
Food just wasn’t good. Everyone was disappointed with their dishes.
The calamari appetizer was exceptional, crunchy and tender. The fish tacos were also delicious, with a slightly spicy sauce on them. Had a really nice time there and walkable for a show at the Meyerhoff.
Quite simply, I think City Cafe -Baltimore is one of the best, most consistent, restaurants in the city. We started with wonderful fried oysters and fried calamari. The portions were at least "generous." The calamari came with an unique (to me) dipping sauce. Then we had the rockfish imperial and softcrabs, both of which were delicious. Plus they have wonderful cocktails and a decent wine list. The bonus was the weather which allowed us to dine outside. I'm told that the outdoor tables can not be reserved and go on a first come basis. Parking is easy in the area. So, City Cafe - Baltimore is wonderful anytime but perhaps particularly so on a beautiful day. I'll be back. And they support Baltimore Center Stage as well! (It's an easy walk to the theater).
Food and service were spot on. We had an early dinner and enjoyed our selections.
The food is reliable, the atmosphere very bright and pleasant, and the service always responsive! City Cafe is a great place for all occasions!
Great food, decent service on a crowded Mother’s Day dinner.
We had a very nice dinner before the Symphony. Would do it again.
We frequent City Cafe as it is an excellent place to eat before the BSO concerts. Our waitress gave us an excellent suggestion for wine and it went well with our fish and chicken dishes. My pad Thai salmon was excellent as a teriyaki salmon with the noodles and peanuts. No other relationship to pad Thai.
Definitely will go back. Would like to see some chef specials other than the same menu.
First time diner based on location for a show. Immediately liked the ambiance and staff. Food was excellent. Value outstanding. I will return and recommend.
Everything was delicious. A very popular place; a nice crowd. The best cream of crab soup I’ve ever tasted. Service was friendly and attentive.
One of the best crab cakes I've ever had. Server looked ovewelmed.
Always terrific. Very accommodating too
Too many other restaurants that are better overall.
Service excellent - food good
Excellent vegetarian options. My friend enjoyed a meat dish w sweet potato fries. Good service. Restaurant wasn't too crowded. Good atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor tables if good weather.
I had the Tuna Poke Bowl which seems to be a different size every time I order it. It is a satisfying combination of very rare ahi tuna, avocado, brown rice, red bell pepper, and dried wasabi peas. My friend had the cream of crab soup and popcorn shrimp. All in all, a satisfying lunch in an environment conducive to a private conversation.
The Burger I had was good only thing was instead of putting sliced tomatoes on my sandwich they cut and put a while half tomatoes up their. What I pose to do with that!! Second my fries was like they dug them from the bottom of the bag and gave me the pieces. Not a fry on my plate was longer then my finger nail. I hope this was just a off day for the restaurant and the cook as I have dines their many times before and know they can do better.
Still our favorite brunch spot and the Champagne Supernova was so good I could sip them all day.
Thanks for being there.
City Cafe was Awesome! A gem!
All 6 of our party enjoyed their meals and cocktails. My steak and eggs were cooked wonderfully. Pancakes with cream and blueberries were delicious.
Food was delicious and service was great (we were catching up with friends from out of town and they didn't rush our table at all until they let us know another reservation was coming , really appreciated it!)
Food was great. Portions are ample. Steak salad was yummy. No hanger steak here. This was chunks of a flatiron steak. Don't sit next to the window on a sunny day. You'll roast even with the shade down.
Brisket sandwich was half brisket half onion- should have had more meat.
The bbq braised short rib was AMAZING
We had a reservation for six that arrived in groups of 3 and were immediately seated which is not always the case in some restaurants. Overall service was excellent—friendly, she knew the menus and was extremely efficient.
The food was fantastic—every dish from pasta to Maryland Club Sandwich were great.
Overall very nice mid-week dining experience.
The venue was nice but I didn’t like the how you couldn’t leave the bar with your drinks to sit at our table during happy hour.
Great portion sizes for the food
Always reliably good
We go every Monday for steak night. City Cafe never fails but Meghan, the bartender in the back, is rude. It’s not the first time either
We were there on a Sunday lunchtime. The place was bustling but the food was ordinary. We've been there before and liked it better. Perhaps just a bad day.
Service is great, Food is delicious, a great place to crab a quick breakfast or lunch, have a business meeting or date. Continue to deliver great service.
We went for brunch and everything was great. Drinks were a bit overpriced, but the food portions were huge and left us filled for the whole day. Highly recommend the bacon and egg flatbread!
We were seated promptly. The waiter was very attentive. The food was served promptly. The food was great. I had the rockfish. My wife had the surgery crab blt. My friend had the steak salad and his wife the onion soup and a salad.
We had a nice pre show dinner at the Cafe. Food was excellent, salads are outstanding. Cucumber martini was tasty.
The food was very good, and our server Joshua was excellent. We were going to the BSO for a show, but never had to say anything, because the service was excellent. We had to wait a little while for the table because she said the system took my reservation so close to my arrival, but I thought to myself, that really should not be "my" problem if the reservation was accepted. Nonetheless, we were seated and everything ended up fine.
We frequent City Cafe and love everything about it. This time our veggies were lukewarm but we aren’t tainted. We will definitely be back.
We love City Cafe! It is particularly wonderful after a BSO concert. You can eat as light or heavy as you'd like since so many of the appetizers work really well together and become meals. The last time we went, I had the skirt steak salad which I loved. My husband had the Poutine which he enjoyed tremendously. We shared our food, neither of which is a full entree but were still too full to eat desert. The atmoshphere is chic, comfortable and inviting while the menu is totally creative. I mean, Poutine, right? For those of you who must eat gluten free, many of their dishes can be made to comply. Just a wonderful place to be.
The brunch is delicious!!!!!
Everything was absolutely delicious! Perfection from the appetizers to the entrees and mixed drinks. Great and friendly service. We have been here more times than we can count. Great job as always.
Always a winner. Food is consistently delicious and eye catching presentation. One of our favorites.
