Food was great Service was excellent as well Tuna appetizer was fresh Waiter was great at giving recommendations
Really delicious food! Attentive service
Love the creative, delicious food!
We were late for our reservation but called ahead. A table was ready, a quick and excellent entree and a satisfying glass of wine were serviced.
And we made the curtain! Thanks to City Cafe.
I’m following a very restrictive diet and the server and kitchen were most accommodating. Plus, the meal was delicious!
Second time this place has forgotten to serve me my appetizer. Really? You guys really need to get your act together.
Very nice place, Very nice ambiance, me and my date spent about $30 a piece but we overdid it buying everything that sounded good. Nice place. Nice prices
Rockfish with lump crab imperial was phenomenal! My wife and I enjoyed the food and waitress was great. Definitely one of my go to’s for a nice dinner date.
We were seated and greeted upon entry which was fine. It took a long time to get drinks and my wife's Lamb burger was not seasoned and bland.
Another delicious meal at the City Cafe. Service was great. Can’t wait to visit again.
We dine at City Cafe every time we go to Baltimore Center Stage. The Baltimore Benedict - eggs Benedict with a mini-crab cake - is worthy the drive from Philadelphia.
Enjoyed completely & service was great! Food came out more quickly than expected but still managed to be perfect temperature & so tasty. The best breakfast potatoes & the fried green tomatoes are amazing!!
Maria, our server, was fantastic! Good food, as always.
The food was quite good, but the service put CityCafe over the top! It was a Friday evening and we were trying to coordinate 2 people arriving from BWI airport, one by bus from Annapolis, two by car from Silver Spring and one in Baltimore. Of course traffic and delayed flights happened -- but the host and servers helped us make the evening happen. The four of us more-or-less on time were seated at a table that could easily add in the two from the airport when they arrived an hour late. Two had to leave early for a concert, but we enjoyed about five minutes around the table together thanks to the thoughtfulness of the host! Then the server was quite accommodating to the two who had arrived late from their flights and helped get them drinks and food. It was just a lovely experience despite all the challenges -- we will go back again and again!
One of our favorite and consistent restaurants! Terrific meal and service. We had tickets to a play so we’re limited in how long we had to dine- our waitress was terrific with suggestions and service and had us on our way in plenty of time for our play at the Spotlighters!
Both times I was there this month the service and food were pretty good but the place was really cold and when they sit you in the big room and the doors open every few minutes to allow diners in from the outside the gusts of cold air only add to the discomfort. Those doors should be closed in cold weather.
Delicious food, plentiful portions! We had the chilaquiles and breakfast flat bread - both were excellent!
Great for early Evening meal, prior to Symphony or Center Stage. Late nite after event is lovely as well as menu can accommodate full diner or lite fair. Excellent food and menu has variety.
Where do you go in the city when you need a place that can please everybody's tastes? City Cafe. It didn't disappoint us. The crab cake and the turkey club were great.
All meals were great!! Good value for price...nice Sunday brunch location. Get there early or it fills up!!
While we would not recommend based on this experience, we would also not discourage a trial. We experienced several glitches that took away from what we had hoped would be a relaxing, casual evening. Open Table information on the HH times and days of the week was incorrect, and we specifically went to the restaurant early to take advantage. Ordered salad hold the olives. Received Salad with olives and they held the onions. Ordered second entrée, a vegetarian bowl. At least 5 bite sized bits of chicken were included with the falafel. Brought all of this to the attention of the GM, who has some justification, but no effort to rectify. Disappointing to say the least
Really enjoyed the atmosphere here before our show. The drinks and dinner were really good the waiters attentive.
Delicious food- scallops and bronzing- and wonderful service by Marvin
Enjoyed dinner before a show Saturday. It was delicious and service was great.
Everything was just as described. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time together.
All of the brunch food is delicious, but you HAVE to try the butternut squash soup - it is unmatched.
Great place to run into people you know! We had a great time.
We love City Cafe! We also love that there is a spot where the noise level is good for seniors with hearing issues! Nothing on the menu that we don't enjoy!
We loved the City Cafe in Mount Vernon! Our waitress was so nice and amazing! We loved the food, drinks and ambiance! We will return!
Our server was excellent. Great balance of attentive and fun. He made the meal more enjoyable. Food was delicious.
We ordered too much food (4 appetizers for 2 people as our meal), but everything was tasty. I always love the fried green tomatoes with crab meat. I order them at a lot of restaurants, and City Cafe's/Tark's are the best. The Brussels sprouts were yummy. We also had a satisfying arugula salad and popcorn chicken bites. It's by far the best place to go before an event at the Meyerhoff!
As often as I come it’s always a special occasion. Hostesses are always gracious and welcoming and get you comfortably seated
without delay. Servers follow that same pattern and get drinks to the table pronto. They get a sense of your priorities and cater to them. It’s a pleasure and the entire staff from the excellent manager to the runners are on hand to assure you a fine time.
It never fails because they are beautifully trained. Consistency is a key to your success.
Again I enjoyed an amazing evening dining al fresco at City Cafe. I was accompanied by a friend who was enjoying the ambiance, food and service of City Cafe for the first time. Jennifer, Alex, and the host (I did not get her name) made for another pleasurable dining experience. I also give cusps to those in the kitchen that produced and delivered the gustatory delights. My friend selected the grilled Bronzini (one of my favorites) and enjoyed it immensely. I had my favorite drink the Sazerac and the porcini stuff ravioli with shrimp.
One can say no more about the enjoyment of great weather, great service, and good food and drink.
Thank you again City Cafe.
My friends and I were so sad to see that city cafe stopped serving their cinnamon rolls! Other than the rolls, food was great.
Enjoyed food which came quickly. Waiter did check once on how we were doing but didn’t see him till finished with meal
It has been awhile since we dined at City Cafe. On this visit, three of us got together for brunch on Sunday. We ordered Bloody Mary’s followed by breakfast items. One of us ordered the hearty country breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito as did the third guest. It took some time for our orders to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy, and we had French toast bits as a starter. When the orders arrived, two of the orders were fine, but one of the breakfast burritos contained sausage - and it was delivered to a vegetarian. It was a mistake, and our server retrieved the erroneous order and the kitchen prepared a corrected order. When the bill arrived, we were charged for 4 breakfast entrees rather than 3. We called it to the attention our our server, and she apologized and provided a corrected bill to us. Our server was friendly
I always have a great meal, great service, and great drinks at City Cafe. Thank you to our server, Maria for making my late birthday dinner wonderful
We dine at City Cafe several times during a year. It's a great place to eat before or after a performance at the Meyerhoff or Lyric or a movie at the Charles. Food and service are consistently good. Prices are reasonable.
The perfect spot for an occasion or just a casual brunch - it’s my go-to bc no matter what you order it is delicious and the service is fantastic. Lots of food for the price, too.
