City Barrel Brewing
I love City Barrel, always have, but this trip I took my notoriously picky Nana and my vegetarian Mom with me. Both of them loved it. It's rare I find a place both of them will eat and not complain about the menu or the service, but City Barrel has done it! 10/10, would recommend.
My new favorite place! Fun beer to try and amazing food!
The whole restaurant smelled very bad. Probably not an issue on a warm day when they can open the place up and let in some fresh air.
We had the best time celebrating my husband's birthday. He keeps telling me it was THE BEST burger he has ever had. We had been for dinner previously which we also loved, but really enjoyed the lunch vibe in the space. A bit quieter & the natural lighting was awesome. Highly recommend. Everything we have had has been top notch.
Whiskey drinker here. This is probably 1 of 5 places in KC that has Jefferson's Ocean bourbon. Food was amazing. May be the best salmon in KC. A little loud inside but overall a great place. A more discerning menu that doesn't draw the immature Westport crowd. Definitely going to be a regular stop.
Solid menu. Good beer selection. Overall cool place.
Amazing food and drinks!
We loved our meal , So happy they r here
Excellent food, service and beer. We really enjoyed our experience.
We both had the Bacon Burger which was excellent if a bit overpriced. I asked for extra crispy fries and they were great! My husband tried several beers and loved all but one. Not being a beer drinker, I ordered a glass of wine. Our server, Daniel, was excellent, attentive but not obtrusive. He answered all questions and gave recommendations. I may have had another glass of wine had it been offered. The place was packed so that may be the reason it wasn't offered. This is not the place to go if you want to have a conversation. It is like many brew pubs, very noisy with more communal tables than private tables. It would be a great place to go with a beer drinking crowd.
Great experience. Food was great. Service fair. Overpriced for the overall value. Glad we went. Probably wouldn’t be a first or second choice again when going out.
We really enjoyed our experience at City Barrel! Great food, great beer, great atmosphere. I’m all about the IPAs and Sours, so this was a perfect beer stop for us. Prices on to go crowlers were the highest I’ve seen ($16-$27), but the beer was really good, so I paid it. It’s a really cool venue and the food was solid, not your typical bar food. Overall, one of the best BrewPubs I’ve been to recently.
I went to City Barrel for lunch with my Nana, and we had just the best time. She got the BLT (which she proclaimed the best she'd ever had) and I had a Brewer's Bowl salad which was filling and tasty in the extreme. I highly recommend the Ahoy! beer, although that's a limited run so go soon.
