Citrus Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Hadn't been to Citrus in a while - but our dinner Saturday night reminded me what a gem Citrus is. I usually head straight to Shin (which I also love) but had a double date with friends and made reservations at Citrus.
What awesome food - the octopus appetizer was fun and inventive and our entrees were A-Plus. he server (wish I could remember his name) was well informed about both the food and wine and was attentive and fun.
The food was great, in flavor and presentation. The menu took traditional foods and added a delicious twist. The boiled peanuts, wow! The service was also exceptional, our wait staff showed genuine care that we were enjoying our experience and that the food was to our liking. We will definitely be return customers and will mark this our list of top restaurant choices for O-town.
Great food, great service. The noise inside...and the restaurant was not even full! It was extremely difficult to have a conversation. Patio was quiet, but we did not want to sit outside in humidity and rain. Finally moved from table to the end of bar. Still had to hold heads close together to be able to hear. Not sure what they can do about this. Perhaps it's a great place to eat but not to have conversations.
This upscale restaurant appeared to be a wonderful dining experience when we reviewed the menu and the website. We were seated promptly at 7:00pm on a Friday night; however, when other diners arrived, the sound level was ridiculously off the chart noisy, which made it impossible to enjoy any conversation with our invited guests or even enjoy the foods we were served. We even mentioned to our very patient server the noise level and he said it was because they were having a chef's table in the next room. I understand people having a good time, but not at the expense of others. Instead of a fine, relaxing dining experience, it was more like eating at a noisy bar with upscale restaurant prices. There are too many other choices in Orlando to choose from to settle for this type of experience. Very disappointing.
Had tickets for the Rolling Stones at the Citrus Bowl on June 12 and wanted to find an upscale restaurant for a pre-concert dinner. Found this place online and it appeared to be just what we wanted: Close to the venue, pleasing menu, and pleasant atmosphere.
Citrus Restaurant exceeded our expectations in all respects. Wonderful food, friendly greeting and service, modern and attractive appointments, and even valet parking for a quick in and out. We had advance reservations, were seated promptly, and our meals, while obviously taking great talent and time to prepare, were presented pleasingly and promptly.
This was our first experience at this restaurant and highly recommend it for both locals and visitors alike.
A relaxing and fun experience to get us set for a wild and crazy concert.
A Rock'n Senior
P.S. The Stones still ROCK!
In Orlando on a business trip from San Francisco. This place hit the magic button with creative, fresh, locally and sustainably sourced food. The chef, bar manager and general manager who I all met were great people. The chef, Lucas who went to college and worked in the Sonoma wine country really knows how to balance flavors and textures on the plate. The bar manager is behind some creative and fresh cocktails. Also a good place to go by yourself. Nice bar area with hi-top tables for eating. This is my go to place in Orlando
Over all service was great as well as the ambient of the place. It was my first time at this place. After ordering the food and having it in our table I cut the chicken I order and it was red on the inside and almost burn on the outside. I ask to talk to the manager to see if the chicken was suppose to be red on the inside. He said the it was suppose to be like that. the waitress offered to take the plate back and recook it, however, when she brought it back it was really burn on the outside
Great place for a date. Most food is in the 15-25 dollar range. Wines (for a bottle) ranging from 28-120 bucks. The food was good, but the soft shell crab I got came with little more than the crab, leaving me not quite full. Their brownie is delicious, but one is enough for two people.
Atmosphere is fantastic, food is locally sourced, and the service is really outstanding. It seems the entire waiting staff is attentive to empty glasses, clean plates, and whatever attention you may need.
Would recommend for dates, business lunches, a fancy brunch or just an enjoyable meal downtown if you've got more than McDonald's money to spend.
When we arrived there was no one to greet us. There was two of us and they sat us right next to a five top with a loud baby. There were lots of tables, in fact we were the only two tables in the place occupied.
Wine list was not very good, especially for the price.
We both ordered the fillet's and they had no flavor and the salads were basically lettuce..not what I was expecting. Will not return
This was our first time, for my husband and I. We were very pleased starting with the Valet guys, as well as the young ladies at the podium. Our server was name Tito, he was the most professional young man, and what was so phenomenal ( Tito) took time out to explain what was on the menu to my husband. The setting had a very nice ambiance feeling to it. The food/ spirits was exquisite. Overall was very pleased to see that you all take pride and giving the best customer service to your patrons. Keep up the good work, we will be back... I would like to say thank you for making my Valentine's Day special.
We went for Valentine's weekend on Friday evening and had a great experience. The menu is interesting and each course was delicious with surprising blends of flavors. Our server was outstanding, taking a lot of time to ensure my wife chose a glass of wine she would truly enjoy. Cocktails were outstanding.
Honestly, I made reservations for Citrus becuase about 6 months ago we had a delicious clam bake and I really wanted to reorder that. When we got there they stated they didn't have so go fried tomatoes which were pretty good but not a real standout. For dinner I ordered shrimp and grits and there was so much heavy brown gravy that I couldn't even tast anything else at all. I let the waiter know and he didn't offer to exchange it or comp it, so I picked at the shrimp, drank more wine and then we called it a day....not good!
Great food, excellent service. We had dinner before a concert on New Years Eve and were very pleased. My date thought her file mignon was the best she has ever had. Although we are not drinkers, the restaurant had an extensive wine and drink list. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I chose this restaurant based on reviews I saw online and we were so happy we did! Our server, Rockie, made the experience relaxed, guiding us through the intriguing menu, encouraging us to try the fried green tomato appetizer, which was amazing! We both had the cioppino, which had the most tender octopus ever! Our booth was cozy and intimate, just what we asked for when making our reservation.
My family and I went to citrus before going to see The Phantom of The Opera at the brand new Dr. Phillips Center in downtown Orlando. Being unfamiliar with the area I decided to just search open table for nearby restaurants with availabilities, scan the menus, and pick one that looked good. Boy was this a great pick. Citrus is tastefully decorated and the ambiance is perfect for a special occasion, a date night, or just a casual dinner among friends. And you will all find something worth eating on the menu I can assure you of that. From Filet to shrimp and grits Citrus doesn't disappoint.
Went with 5 people for lunch. Everyone ordered different entrees and we all shared. They have a good sized menu with great diversity. Wonderful flavors and combinations. Service was attentive and well paced. Everyone was pleased and we'll stop again in the future.
This is just a very nice place to eat. Has a wonderful vibrant feel. Great atmosphere and located in a very good location and easy access. The food was very good and the staff is extremely nice and prompt. overall a very enjoyable place and would highly recommend.
