We did the Sunday brunch and the service was EXCELLENT and our bottomless mimosas were literally bottomless...our amazing server never let our drinks go past 1/2 empty! He was SUPER friendly also. Wish I remembered his name to give him special kudos. Food was also FANTASTIC! We had a great time.
Went for early dinner. Rather large, open room, somewhat industrial rather than cozy. Cold, had to go to car to get a jacket during dinner even after changing tables. Food fair. Excellent server. Overall average. Next time will try somewhere else in the neighborhood.
The food was very good; unfortunately the service was lacking. We were seated immediately for our 1:45 reservation and ordered within 5-6 mins but did not get our food (hamburger and fish taco) until 2:25.Even tho the restaurant was not crowded, I think our server had too many tables. The food was dropped off very quickly and requests for additional items (sweetener, salt and pepper) required waiting extensively for the server and then having to repeat the request.
We were quite surprised as this restaurant came highly recommended.
Loved the blackened Ahi!
I like this place. It's nestled among the antique shops in Orange. The buffet food was great. I wish, however, that there was an omelet bar. Mine was fine, but I had to order it from the waiter. The question lingered in my mind, "Will I be charged extra for my omelet?" I wasn't, and I'm thankful.
Wonderful service and friendly staff
Good food any time
Food was fine, but not good enough for the lofty prices. Same goes for the cocktails.
Absolutely perfect outing. Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, and phenomenal food!!! 10+ experience!!! Will definitely be back.
Enjoyed New Year’s Eve as usual. Menu was excellent.
We love eating here. Classic good food with a few innovations....love you..
Food was great, service was great--there was even live music, and at a pleasant volume for conversation. My only complaint was the the temperature in restaurant was very cold. Try the Octopus, it's outstanding!
Came here on Christmas Eve for date night. Great ambiance. Superb food and service. Beet salad was delicious and fun to eat given different textures and flavors that I didn’t know would pair so well. For main course, I had lamb chops (medium rare) and wife had roasted chicken - both cooked to perfection, succulent and savory. Shared creme brûlée with hot cappuccino. Yum! Highly receommend this gem in Old Town Orange.
Our seasonal favorite restaurant. Tried others, but always come back here. Sorry about losing the duck, but I understand.
Our waitress Joy was a joy and Jose is s super kind and wonderful person. All was FANTASTIC !!!!!
We celebrated my friend's birthday lunch here. The food looked and tasted very good. We all enjoyed what we ordered. I will definitely be coming back.
Birthday and Christmas dinner rolled into one and it was delightful. We sat next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and enjoyed great food and extraordinary service!
We had a great lunch with friends yesterday. I mentioned a hearing problem so super nice hostess gave us a corner table outside which was perfect. Spencer took care of us and gave AMAZING service. Food was yummy, my husband loved the sea bass! The Citrus Grill is a jewel and we will definitely return. Thank you so much for the great experience!
My friends and myself were celebrating a Christmas lunch. Everything was perfect. Everyone had something different and each said their choice was excellent.
Excellent food and service. Will come back!
Second time coming to this location and it did not disappoint. Had the special, which was a halibut with a red wine reduction sauce. It sounded different so I ordered it and it was amazing. The sauce was perfect with the fish, which was light and flaky. The side was a very well done asaparagua risotto. Had the grand mariner souffle which was also very good. Definitely will come back!
We were very cozy at our outside table; service was great; food was great!
We were disappointed. Service was slow. Waitress told me the wrong type of soup. She said you had clam chowder, when it was really seafood chowder. Too noisy with tables close together.
As usual, the service was exceptional. During our visit (we have been to Citrus City many times) it appeared that the crew was missing a server. As a result, times between service was extended and the refilling of beverages and the clearing of dishes was much longer than usual. Not a huge problem and one we have not experienced before. When we went to check in, management and crew were huddled at the front station re-assessing coverage. Qudos to them for attempting to cover a huge Friday night crowd.
I ordered the rib eye steak. Normally I go for the Sea Bass but thought I'd try something new. Plus my wife had ordered the fish. As is always the case, the Bass was outstanding. I have never tasted a better fish entrée in Orange County. I have ordered the bass at least 5 times before and it has consistently exceeded expectations. A lightly crusted exterior and moist buttery flesh. Unfortunately. the rib eye was disappointing. I had asked for medium rare and the steak was much closer to medium well. considering the size of the crowd and our impending curtain for Michael Feinstein, I did not ask for a replacement. I did, however, bring it to the attention of our server in the hope that other diners would receive the steak of their preference. We had noted in our email reservation that we were celebrating our 2nd anniversary. A point I also made to the manager and our server. Nonetheless, apparently management was not interested in our celebration, did not acknowledge our anniversary and did not provide any special treatment for us. One might have expected a rose for my wife, or at least some type of special desert. Nor did they make any accommodations in our bill with respect to the seriously over-grilled steak. While Citrus City will always be our go-to restaurant in the area, we will not return when we celebrate anniversaries, birthdays or holidays.
I hadn’t been here in quite awhile and it is still fantastic! If Joy is your server, it is an extra treat. I had forgotten how loud it is which makes it very difficult to carry on a conversation. I would definitely suggest Citrus City Grille for any type of celebration or special occasion.
Crowded dining area was packed and noisy for brunch. Luckily we got a table outside where it was quiet and lovely. Excellent service and deliciously inventive dishes.
Citrus City Grille is our favorite restaurant in Old Towne Orange. We made reservations well in advance, we had family joining us for brunch and wanted them to experience a lovely meal at our favorite restaurant. As we arrived at the hostess station, we heard her tell a young couple dressed in jeans and t-shirts no you don't necessarily need a reservation. She then seated the couple up front at a table for four. We stepped up and stated our reservation name and time, and we were seated towards the rear of the restaurant, next to a large group of very noisy young women. I commented to the hostess that we really preferred a table closer to the windows, and she said that she was sorry nothing was available. However, she had just seated someone without reservations, at a table near the window. This was very disappointing, and our family was not impressed with the experience, they will not return. It was somewhat embarrassing to say the least.
Nice ambiance and food. Service a bit slow though.
The Citrus City Grille is the perfect place to go for a Saturday night date, special lunch with friends or a business lunch during the week. It's delicious food, festive atmosphere and friendly staff are a delight! We love eating here and then walking around Old Town Orange.
We tend to have lunch here whenever we are in Orange. We almost always make a reservation and (in the past) have always had positive experiences. This time though was not quite as nice. We had made a reservation and requested a specific table (if available). When my wife went in to check in, the hostess ignored her and gave the people behind her the table we had requested. When the hostess came back, my wife pointed this out and the hostess did correct it, but did not apologize for either ignoring her, or giving out the table we had requested.
After that, the food was good as usual, but it is a mistake to eat outside on Saturday or Sunday, as that is when they have their brunch with unlimited mimosa's - apparently most people sitting outside seem to feel the need to yell in order to be heard after several mimosas. We could hear them fine, but could not hear ourselves talking. It would be a nice touch if the restaurant asked people who were yelling if they might tone it down a bit.
We enjoyed a great bottle of wine and had awesome service. We ordered the scallops and risotto, meat loaf and the grilled salmon. All our Entrée’s were very good but the highlight was the seafood chowder, it was so good with lots of seafood chunks in it.
We go every year for Thanksgiving and everything was fabulous! The only reason I gave the food a 4 out of 5 is because they ran out of their butternut squash soup, which is the best I've ever had. So we'll just have to come back ASAP.
Went for thanksgiving meal. Second year coming to citrus city for thanksgiving. Both times ordered the ham dinner selection. It was so good last year I decided to come back this year. Last year it was great and this year fair rating st best. First entire plate of food was cold. Second ham tasted like a canned ham. No flavor in garlic mashed potatoes. They decided to plant a raw spring of sage in them and I got oily residue from plant on my hands. The cherry sauce was good. I had 3 greens beans and I miniature carrot for vegetables. My yams was a slice of undercooked yam so small I thought it was another carrot. Carrot and yam was so undercook I could not chew them. We came at end of buffet and I wonder if they served us the remains of the buffet. Dessert was included and I took the apple pie. I thought I was in a diner and not an elegant restaurant as it came as cold apple slice on plate with no decorations or hint of cream or little dap of something. The service was ok. We had to request bread. Received 2 slices for 2 people. My champion and I at least had diet thanksgiving meals. Also drinks arrived after salad. Oh the salad was good and best part of meal. Will be looking for new thanksgiving restaurant. Wish I had photo to show dietary proportions of my meal. Best part of service was waiter handing me my dessert fork instead of placing on table. Again, thought I was in a diner.
We had a wonderful time sitting on the patio. Nice and quiet, service was awesome and even had a good laugh at the lady inside our window stuffing her tote bag with the wonderful food and desserts.
The Thanksgiving brunch was fantastic! Great food, drinks and service was awesome. We will be back next year had the best time.
Food was great and our server was very sweet but likely new, as she was a little overwhelmed and forgetful about our requests for condiments, drink refills, etc.
Outstanding menu, prepared perfectly. Quiet at lunch, but weekend dinner hours are lively. Well qualified servers.
Just amazing !!!!!! We will be back ! The manger , Mary is just the kindest most caring person . Food and dessert was delicious, such great stuff and environment.
Stuffed chicken was delicious.
Server, Greg, was most attentive.
Sat outside as I thought it would be
quieter but between a party of six
at the wall and remarks made by a
server, the noise level went over the
top! I believe it’s good to have fun
but I also like to be able to have a
conversation with wine and meal.
Just a OK experience, with service lacking somewhat. My husband had coconut shrimp that was not cooked. Our server did not check back, and we had to flag down someone to send it back. We used to go to Citrus City often in the past, and stopped going because the service was mediocre. Not much has changed.
Great food, great service, friendly staff, fun atmosphere, just too loud to carry on a conversation unless you eat outside. The night I was there was Greek night. It was fun to see the Greek dancing (owners are Greek) and hear the music. Greek and regular menus offered. Greek night once per month I’m told. I would not go there to discuss business or on a date to get to know someone. Too loud. Go there for great food and great fun!
