It was suppose to be a Special occasion as my friend and I were celebrating our May birthdays with our husbands. We read the reviews and they all were very positive, we still don't know how that happened, so we decided to try it. The atmosphere was not like it was reviewed (romatic), only one waiter for the three tables but he was very good, but it took FOREVER to get our food. VERY small menu and everything was VERY PRICEY, which is ok if the food is good, which we didn't think it was, and desert was outrageously priced and the four of us did not enjoy it! We all agree we absolutely would NOT recommend it and we would NEVER go back. The reviews said the owners were very friendly, we never saw them...only the waiter. It was NOT A good experience and we've eaten at fabulous restaurants all over so our tastebuds are very educated. SORRY.
The food is excellent. The seats are very comfortable.
Very friendly staff
Caisoullait difficult to cut being served in a bowl, plate would have been better. Did not think the dish had much eye appeal
The food was exquisitely prepared. I had crab croquettes and vichyssoise. The croquettes were prepared perfectly, not under- nor over- cooked. The creamy bland soup was a nice contrast to the salty croutons and together made a perfect combination. The service was excellent. The waitress knowledgeable. Serving time quick despite busy hour. It’s a definite gem.
Always an wonderful experience.
The french toast is to die for. Yummy! My friends also had very positive feedback. I taste a piece of the sausage that my friend order. This was also spectacular. I will definitely try this place again and I will order the Soufflé.
We had a wonderful experience at Citronelle. The menu is not extensive but every item is special. Service was impeccable, friendly yet professional staff. Very knowledgeable. We will be back.
We had an outstanding dining experience. The menu was quite varied, making it hard for each of us to choose what we wanted to eat.
We started our meal with a delicious pate, the best we’ve ever had. Our entrees were equally delicious.
Our server was attentive and professional..
We look forward to dining there, again.
Welcoming as soon as you enter. The wait staff are very pleasant and create a relaxed atmosphere. Loved the music played in background. Intimate room, lovely décor. Limited menu was ideal. Brunch selections were great. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes. Cannot wait to return to try more dishes!!
The food was amazing, as always. Better than other BYOB’s in Lancaster. Great service and the menu has great options!
Food was excellent, service quality superb! More square tables for two couples. Quiet European music! Keep menus simple, but "high-end". Serve great wine, keep BYO
Excellent food and service.
The food was fresh, innovative, and cooked impeccably. What really stood out though, was the relaxed but thorough service. The ambiance was lovely too. Can’t wait to return!
Global Wednesday, Piedmont Region. Authentic, flavorful & delicious
Always a pleasure to dine here. Superb food quality, presentation, and pleasing to the palate.
On a very snowy February night this place was packed. Service was slightly slower than I might have anticipated, but perhaps that was because of absences due to the snow. The starters were fantastic, the entree was extremely tasty, and the speciality soufflet desserts were to die for. We'll be back for sure.
Drove all the way in the snowstorm and it did not disappoint. Great greeting, wonderful service and all the entrees were a hit. The mango sorbet was delicious as was the chocolate soufflés. Would go back again.
My wife and I loved the food. We shared the crab croquettes which were creamy delights. I enjoyed the cassoulet with perfectly prepared duck confit. My wife chose the wild boar gnocchi which she couldn't stop raving. We both took half our entrée home for a delicious lunch the next day. Finally we shared the decadent chocolate soufflé which was amazing.
Valentines Day menu, a bit pricey but some amazing flavors. Overall a good experience.
Special Valentine's Day menu was a great taste treat.
Superb, authentic French paté, cassoulet, and soufflé . We forgot to bring wine, but the elderberry drink was fine, especially with an added lemon slice. Offers a 3-course pre-theater option.
A wonderful experience. Our first time here and we will definitely go back. Everything was delicious. Had first and second courses and dessert. Everything was great from the food to the service.. A cozy little place and BYOB. Great place for date nights.....probably not a good choice for small children.
We had the friendliest service and a delicious brunch! I had the french toast and my boyfriend had the open faced omelet... both amazing.
Great place to dine
My wife and I enjoy going out during the week for a date night. We like to share a meal often our dinner was more than enough to share. The dinner rolls where the best I have had and the desert was second to none (there specialty). I believe that the tire store down the street is lenient to parking latter in the evening. This would have to rank as one of our top three favorite restaurants in the Lancaster area.
From the moment we walked into Citronnelle we knew it was going to be a special experience and it did NOT disappoint! From the appetizer to the dessert, it was the most unique and traditional French cuisine imaginable. We will be back, hoping to get the fireplace corner seating next time! Thank you Citronnelle for one of the best dining experiences of our lives!
We came here for dinner before a play at the Fulton Theatre, and it was wonderful. I had a perfect NY Strip and my wife had salmon that tasted like it just been caught. BYOB makes it more affordable too. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. We highly recommend this little restaurant. Cheers!
We met friends on a Thursday night and had a very enjoyable time. The food and service was excellent. I just wish there were a couple more options for the second course however nothing to complain about.
The Global Wednesday was superb--a visit to Hungary with goulash soup and chicken paprikas that were wonderfully authentic. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. The server was just the right level of attentive.
A last minute reservation for date night. We were both pleasantly surprised as the food was excellent, though the menu was a little eclectic. The restaurant wasn’t noisy, but they could a little more space....it felt like I could hear everyone’s conversations, also I could reach out and touch the nearby tables.
Overall a good experience because the food was top notch 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
My husband and I had a wonderful date night here. Happily surprised by the ambiance, delicious food and gracious staff. It’s BYOB which we appreciated as we have plenty of our own good wine choices. The portions are more filling than they look and I am enjoying my leftovers for lunch boch today!
Great restaurant, have been many times and the food is always excellent. The owners are wonderful as well as their staff.
Food is out of this world!
I had given up on dining out on New Year's Eve until dining at Citronelle. We had a lovely evening with each course more luscious than the last. We will definitely be back. The food was amazing and the presentation artful.
Converted row home into country French place. Staff was very attentive. Interesting food courses especially for Lancaster Pa. BYOB was nice plus.
Wonderful take on modern French cuisine with beautiful ambiance. Great service with knowledgeable and caring staff. Appetizer selection was excellent and the desserts were out of this world! Second course/entrees were good but way too large in portion size - a little overwhelming and a bit heavy. Otherwise a fantastic experience and we enjoyed a milestone birthday event in an environment we’ll return to again.
Great food but limited menu. It’s a byob which is nice keeps the cost down. Always enjoy our meals there.
Pate very good. Small lamb meatballs. Carpaccio was good. Wasn’t impressed with entrees. Server very good.
Nice place only down side is it’s BYOB food was great
One of our favorite places in Lancaster city.
