My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We were blown away by the quality of the food and ambiance. We loved that it was a BYOB. Our waiter was incredibly kind and helpful when making our selections. I enjoyed crab croquettes for my appetizer and the strip steak for dinner followed by an esquisite soufflé. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I will definitely be coming back soon and very highly recommend this perfect little spot.
As usual, dining at Citronnelle was a wonderful experience. The GLOBAL nights are exquisite. The Palestinian dinner was delicious. Coming into the restaurant one felt transported by the Middle-Eastern music and the delightful aromas that came merging from the kitchen. Susan is the friendliest and most welcoming host, always taking her time to explain different aspects of the dishes served. And our server was great. And the food was superb! The lamb kebabs for appetizer, the intriguing casserole, and the out-of-this-world dessert combined with lovely music that was loud enough to appreciate and quiet enough for us to enjoy our conversation plus the friendliness and professionalism in the service made a perfect evening.
Good food and a nice overall experience. Being in the city, the view out the window is terrible, but the restaurant is charming and the experience was a good one. The big appeal is high end restaurant that is BYOB, but they don't have stemware so if you want to use nice wine glasses, you need to bring them.
Very small, everyone is very close. Table of six in front was noisy, with lots of loud laughter. Ask manager to try and hold the noise down. Corkage fee for wine(glassware, service etc) NO stem ware and had to ask server to refill glass..
Food was very good. Tried some tastes that I would not normally eat. Service was friendly. Was there for a special night. Overall a good meal and good time. Some what overshadowed by the noise.
Food was amazing. I liked that it was BYOB. Very friendly service. Good price.
I was glad the restaurant had a few vegan options, but the food was just ok. It is a very small restaurant, which I don't mind, but there was one party there that was fairly loud, which made conversation and communication with our server difficult.
We had a wonderful dinner and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It has become our new favorite in Lancaster. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly and professional. The restaurant is small but the ambiance is cozy and inviting. The noise level was low as the kitchen is well separated from the dining area.
This restaurant is BYOB which was great as it allowed us to bring our own selections of wine for our special meal. There is a corkage fee, but the staff is well trained in wines handling and service, so they deserve some compensation for their work...
We will definitely be returning in the future!
The Barramundi special was delicious!! Thanks for the great evening!
Delicious food! Love that you’re BYO. We’ll be back!
Food was delicious. Becca, our server, was tremendous. Lemongrass soufflé was the best thing I’ve ever tasted.
It was a great meal. The service was excellent. We ordered the squid (delicious), the tajarine (this was very good, though I️ found the egg preparation off putting), & we shared the turbot (the vegetables were delicious and the fish was ok, a bit heavy handed with salt). Do not skip the soufflé! It was wonderful!
The food is always spectacular. The service is always good and the owner always comes by to say hello. It’s a small place so the noise level is high. The air conditioning needs to be cranked up as it was a very hot day. I will always come back for more!
Amazing food, small space... but the tables are not too close together where you feel like you are in others conversations. Flavors are French with a modern flair. We will be back.
We enjoyed Citronnelle for our 53rd Anniversary dinner. The food was excellent! We had the steak which was very tasty and the accompaniments were yummy (especially the squash fritters)! The service efficient but warm and inviting. It was a Tuesday eve so there were not many people there but still great ambience with good music. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and not for just special occasions. It is a BYO with a reasonable $5 corkage fee which makes it affordable for any time.
Everything about it was fantastic; food, service, atmosphere. We felt so welcome there and definitely will be returning.
A fantastic meal as always. The cuisine is imaginative and well prepared. Service is prompt and not over-bearing. The octopus and mushroom pasta appetizers were delicious and unique. Our entrees of barramundi and Amish chicken were flavorful and perfectly prepared.
Kudos to Raphael! He is an incredible culinary talent.
I went with a date for Sunday Brunch. Was seated and was immediately set up for the Champagne I brought, and with chilled water with a sparkling option. Ordered salads to start. Absolute works of art with brilliant greens, Compte cheese, cubes of crisp apple, edible Nastursium blossoms, and a delicious vinaigrette. She had am omelette of Brie and mushrooms with a spicy kick, great. I had poached eggs on toasted croissant with sauteed spinach and hollandaise. Delicious, eggs a bit on the rare side for me. Ended with coffee and souflees, hers lemongrass and coconut, mine dark French chocolate and Grand Marnier. Served with sauces to complement.
A great meal, well paced, and nicely served.
I will go again.
Small, intimate restaurant. Took my parents here for Father's Day. Large group next to us with crying infant. Hard to hear ourselves talk at the table. Food was delicious, but it took a long time to get our meal, etc. Food was delicious once received and staff was attentive. Would go back another time to try it again.
Every time we dine at Citronnelle everyone involved in the dining experience has gone above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. The food is amazingly delicious whether it’s dinner or brunch, and the desserts are an excellent finish to a magnificent meal every time. If I could leave higher that 5/5 I would!!
I wish I could select 6 stars! Everything was superb. The wait staff has ESP. They know exactly what to bring and know when to bring it! The entire menu is unique. Super time!!
We LOVE Citronnelle! Always delicious, love the atmosphere - we celebrate every wedding anniversary there! Susan and her staff are very attentive to detail and take care of making sure that every guest is very happy. During our dinner this year, we had Becca as our server and she was terrific!
As always, the food and service were outstanding. Our friends from DC who came up to join us at the theater loved it so much they want to come back just for the food. We have never missed here.
Citronelle presents very creative, delicious and wholesome food in a humble facility. It has no liquor license, so, if you want wine or beer (or other) at diner, you need to bring your own and pay a small corking fee. The menu is limited but everything on it appeared to be good, making selection difficult. One of the few restaurants you will find that has soufflés on the dessert menu, and in which the wait staff knows to point this out to you before you finish your meal as each one is prepared from scratch. My wife and daughter each had a souffle and raved about them. We would go back frequently if they would move it to Palm Beach Gardens, FL where we live.
Had diner on Friday 6.1.18,
appetizers were great, menu choices were a very strange mix
lamb loin was bland and bloody, strip streak not much flavoring other than the seasoning and way overpriced for amount.
Server was very nice and attentive. We expected much more from rating and other reviews
The food is always fresh and delicious.
The food is outstanding, very creative, satisfying and delicious - well worth the drive from Philadelphia
It was suppose to be a Special occasion as my friend and I were celebrating our May birthdays with our husbands. We read the reviews and they all were very positive, we still don't know how that happened, so we decided to try it. The atmosphere was not like it was reviewed (romatic), only one waiter for the three tables but he was very good, but it took FOREVER to get our food. VERY small menu and everything was VERY PRICEY, which is ok if the food is good, which we didn't think it was, and desert was outrageously priced and the four of us did not enjoy it! We all agree we absolutely would NOT recommend it and we would NEVER go back. The reviews said the owners were very friendly, we never saw them...only the waiter. It was NOT A good experience and we've eaten at fabulous restaurants all over so our tastebuds are very educated. SORRY.
The food is excellent. The seats are very comfortable.
Very friendly staff
Caisoullait difficult to cut being served in a bowl, plate would have been better. Did not think the dish had much eye appeal
The food was exquisitely prepared. I had crab croquettes and vichyssoise. The croquettes were prepared perfectly, not under- nor over- cooked. The creamy bland soup was a nice contrast to the salty croutons and together made a perfect combination. The service was excellent. The waitress knowledgeable. Serving time quick despite busy hour. It’s a definite gem.
Always an wonderful experience.
The french toast is to die for. Yummy! My friends also had very positive feedback. I taste a piece of the sausage that my friend order. This was also spectacular. I will definitely try this place again and I will order the Soufflé.
We had a wonderful experience at Citronelle. The menu is not extensive but every item is special. Service was impeccable, friendly yet professional staff. Very knowledgeable. We will be back.
We had an outstanding dining experience. The menu was quite varied, making it hard for each of us to choose what we wanted to eat.
We started our meal with a delicious pate, the best we’ve ever had. Our entrees were equally delicious.
Our server was attentive and professional..
We look forward to dining there, again.
Welcoming as soon as you enter. The wait staff are very pleasant and create a relaxed atmosphere. Loved the music played in background. Intimate room, lovely décor. Limited menu was ideal. Brunch selections were great. The food was excellently prepared and presented. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes. Cannot wait to return to try more dishes!!
The food was amazing, as always. Better than other BYOB’s in Lancaster. Great service and the menu has great options!
Food was excellent, service quality superb! More square tables for two couples. Quiet European music! Keep menus simple, but "high-end". Serve great wine, keep BYO
Excellent food and service.
The food was fresh, innovative, and cooked impeccably. What really stood out though, was the relaxed but thorough service. The ambiance was lovely too. Can’t wait to return!
Global Wednesday, Piedmont Region. Authentic, flavorful & delicious
