Minnesota sushi was not to my liking but others may enjoy it. I thought the pickle was too big and the prosciutto was tough. Scallops smelled really fishy even the people next to us we didn't know commented on it. Prime rib sliders were good and the cheese curds were fabulous. Only 1 bartender on after the game and it got quite busy.
Mary Kay is a fantastic server and a delight to chat with. Pork medallions and beef filet were tasty. Really nice wine selection.
Our food was quite tasty; we shared the Minnesota Sushi, an excellent green salad with cheese, walnuts and a maple dressing, short ribs, and mac and cheese with chicken. (The chicken was not necessary as the five cheeses were rich and tasty on their own.) Lovely and attentive service. A very nice experience overall.
Dinner before Transiberian Orchestra, mac n cheese with broccolini was yummy, just as good as last time. Husband ordered the citizen burger, great flavor and very juicy. Would definitely return.
Food quality was very poor. Dry.
Went here on Christmas Day. The service was slow and the food was served luke warm - I would expect better for over $40 per person
Worst experience ever. We waited over 45 minutes to place order. Food arrived and was cold and not correct. Second time food was under cooked. Asked for butter and it was never brought. Never received rolls and all of the other tables did. Asked for manager who was unsympathetic. The bill was $165.00 for 3 people and all he offered was to take 1 meal off the bill. We never even finished our meals, it was so bad. However desert was good. Will never go there again and will warn all of my friends to go somewhere else.
The side dishes were excellent, the main dishes were not good. The lobster sandwich had soggy, tough pieces of lobster served on regular sandwich bread with fries out of a bag beside it. The salmon was terribly over cooked. The crab cakes were small The garlic spinach and beets were excellent. Drinks were good. Likely won’t go back because the main dishes were so awful but if I did I’d get a burger and a beer during happy hour. The space is beautiful, service was OK.
Exceptional food and Ambiance. This is my fourth time dining at Citizen, and have always enjoyed the food and experience.
Food was very good. Would’ve been helpful to know that it was inside a hotel when we made the reservations.
Small plates were very small, food was average at best, waitress was unaware of specials advertised on the restaurant's website, even though she knew we were attending a show it took a long time to get our tab.
We were there on a quiet night and 6 of us were able to talk in normal tones. Service was excellent and the food was good.
Typical bar food.
Cute place if you’re staying at the hotel - not worth a visit otherwise.
Great food, good wine selection, great service all for a good price!
Dirty dining room - dirty dishes on most of the tables. Food was OKAY. Berries in the side of berries were moldy but the server didn’t charge for them and replaced with fresh-squeezed oj.
We were a little disappointed in some of the foods the we ordered. The taste was good, but my short rib was more than 20 percent fat. Not what I would call lean.
It was Restaurant Week. A Foo Fighters concert was booked at the Excel Center that night, so the restaurant was crowded and noisy at the time we dined. Service was slow because of the crowd, but server was pleasant and helpful with recommendations. Food was good quality and value. It's deserving of a return visit.
Visited for restaurant week; the appetizers were fine but not awesome, my friend said the scallops entree was just ok, and dessert was actually bad. However, the beef short ribs entree was fantastic. Our waitress was extremely considerate and attentive and it’s nice that they validate parking in the hotel ramp, but overall atmosphere and food were not enough to make me want to go back.
Went for lunch during restaurant week, had a great meal and will be back! Especially loved the tomato bisque soup. Service was excellent.
Both the food and the service were absolutely incredible. Between the 4 of us that were there, we all had different meals and no one was disappointed.
The food was interesting, differemt choices, well-done, variety of sizings, in a new restaurant so not noisy.
My Sprimp and grits was well seasoned and perfect. The augratin potatoes less so. The roasted chichen was nicely seasoned, large sized-(half of a large chicken), witn mashed potatoes.
SO comfortable comfort food choices, with other sizes and new choices to try.
Good spot for pre-show dinner. The food is excellent with the craft cocktails not far behind. The decor is interesting while still being inviting. The service, however, just barely misses the mark. Not horrible service by any means, it just does not match the quality of the other aspects of the venue.
Pleasantly surprised by this find. Defiantly try the cheese curds with house made ketchup. They offer small plates to customize your dining experience!
Love the food. Ask for Laura, she's the best server ever.
No where on their website (that I could see) did it state that the restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel:( Not at all what I was expecting or wanted!! We gave it a chance as we were already there but will not go back.....
Went here on a whim since it's close to the Xcel Center. Smaller menu, typical hotel restaurant. Had a burger (which was greasy) and fries (which were good). Since it is in a hotel, quite noisy with groups aggregating in lobby nearby. Works in a pinch, but I wouldn't go out of your way to seek it out.
Not an expansive menu, which is quite nice. They have options for everyone. Started with a moscow mule and it was done wonderfully. Appetizer of Walleye tacos which had a nice apple slaw and just a hint of jalapeno. Had the lobster club with fries and it was delicious and very nice portion. Not too much and not too little. We went before a concert and surprisingly not overcrowded- just a short walk from the Excel. Service was great, she was helpful with the menu.
First time visitors. Restaurant was clean, warm and friendly atmosphere. Chicken vegetable soup fit the waiters description of hardy. I enjoyed it. Humus and baba ganoush dip was delicious. Menu was interesting and numerous items intrigued us. Our entrees were tasty and portions just right. My wife had the crab cakes and I the jambalaya. Our initial seating was under a air conditioning vent and after a few minutes we requested a different table and they were very accommodating.
One issue stood out for us. Our waiter had accurate descriptions of the menu items and after going over several choices my wife decided on the crab cakes. She was served the scallops by mistake. My meal was served and after a few minutes we got the attention of a waitress who sent our waiter to our table. He remembered the conversation during ordering, apologized and removed the scallops and we waited for the crab cakes. We ordered a dessert, the opera cake 2.0 which was delicious. We thought the waiter could have offered a dessert on the house to make up for an obvious mistake and the awkwardness of waiting for an entree.
We were going to the Bruno mars show next
The service at both the bar and our table was amazing! The food was ok...a few items we ordered (lobster club) lacked flavor.
Great food, great service
Great service. Food was good. Not great
We made reservations at Citizen because it was within walking distance for a concert at the Palace Theater. We did not realize it is a restaurant within a hotel. There was a convention with very loud convention attendees at the bar. Service felt perfunctory. Menu was somewhat limited and overpriced. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you were staying at the hotel.
My hair smelled like a grill all day so perhaps needs better ventilation. We were nowhere near kitchen but by front window....intersting characters walking by. Parking ramp old and somewhat creepy.
It was restaurant week and we wanted to give it a go! The crab cakes were dynamite! Best thing we had!
Visited for Restaurant Week, very happy with value of items purchased, but entree's were not quite what I was expecting. Dessert was amazing
Great drinks, great food and great service. Highly recommended!
Aliyah was a very good and attentive server. The food was very good except the cheese curds. They were very greasy, and pretty bland.
Very nice restaurant. We plan to go back and take our friends.
