A Beverly Hills bar you actually want to hang out in.
If you are looking for great food and cocktails and are not in a rush, hit it up.
Got there for happy hour on saturday from 5-7pm. I had the mai tai (on happy hour) and she got the strawberry fields (no happy hour). Both were great. We started off with the ceviche and the cheddar biscuits. The biscuits came with some delicious butter and smoked honey. I was hesitant about the honey but it was just the right amount of smokiness. The ceviche was good too, it comes with chips and they even gave us more as we ran out. The beef wellington was the star. I would highly recommend it if you are okay with dropping $53 on it, it was worth every penny as we split it. Our server was very attentive and nice. The patio had very warm heaters and the music and ambiance was perfect for us. I would definitely come back if on the neighborhood.
Great Service, Great Food!
This restaurant is a true revelation, with every surprise a good one. Over the top biscuits, extraordinary salad, delicious cocktail, and halibut that was sublime in its freshness and luscious sauce. Every bit as good as the acclaimed establishment next door.
Food was mediocre and service was terrible. There were few other diners, but it took forever to get the attention of a server, which was frustrating since twice we didn’t have necessary cutlery (eg a knife, necessary to cut the chicken that had just been served). Also they forgot to put in a dish and when we asked for it, the server pretended as if it had just required all that time to prepare it rather than admit the error.
I would not go back.
Got seated ordered drinks took about 15 minutes to arrive. Appetizers very bland. Waiter switched and went missing for another 10 minutes. Waste of a $100 reward
Great vibe in a lively open restaurant
Priced very reasonable for being in Beverly Hills
Interesting menu with something for everyone
Interesting unusual menu
Loved the vibe, food and service were both excellent.
The food was excellent. The halibut ceviche was delicious and the osso buco was outstanding. The broth with the osso buco was amazing. The service was first rate. Definitely worth a return visit!
Very nice meal. Very relaxed and good service and food. Perfect place to take our 25 year old while visiting him in LA. Not crowded late on a Friday night
Charming restaurant with an outside patio. Interesting in that the venue has a diverse amount of options. My dining companion and I each had chicken dish and both were excellent. I look forward to going tonight.
I have always been impressed with the service i have gotten at Citizen but what really impressed me last Friday was, not only was our server beyond sweet, informed and gracious but she was incredible in helping me with my dog who came with me to sit on the patio. This is a place i will come over and over again.
The chef here is outstanding
everything perfect, dinig, ambiente and service first class
Great burger! Great drinks! Great salmon! Great service! Definitely recommend!
Nice restaurant. Food was good. Services was a little slow. And there were not packed.
I have brought many friends here as it is one of my favorites in Beverly Hills. They also love it. Not ostentatious. Casual upscale. Excellent service, good food, fun decor.
Excellent service and menu! Love Citizen!
Great service! Loved the decor, drinks were creative and amazing, food was pretty good, we got mostly appetizers. Great atmosphere.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent!!!
We had a really nice meal at Citizen this past weekend. The service was good and the food very delicious. We(four of us) had four starters, two fish dishes and two sides and it was the perfect amount of food. We shared two really good desserts. I enjoy the small plates concept where we got to try a lot of different things. I will be back.
The food was good. A little on the pricey side.
Portions were fairly generous.
The service was professional and efficient.
The banana split was huge, but it cost $20.
I will return.
The ambience is great at Citizen - even early when you’re having happy hour. Decor is gorgeous, and well kept. The menu selections for happy are great and the food was very tasty. We may not go back because we had such poor service. Server was inattentive, forgot to put two orders in entirely. A manager did notice that we were looking around for ~20 minutes without fresh drinks and dirty plates in front of us - a good save and comped some of our food. But unfortunately service for the rest of our experience did not improve after the intervention. Although the options and ambience were wonderful, I don’t think we’ll be back due to service.
Everything was wonderful!
This was my first time at this restaurant and it was ok but nothing special. The food was fresh and good but not very creative. The waiter was slow bringing the food. It was a ok experience but not special.
Beautiful entry & bar, but strange design in main dining room with ropes hanging everywhere. Design doesn't know if it wants to be. Was looking for more "wow" factor. Menu & food good but somewhat odd twists on traditional fare. Service good. Disappointing small pour on way overpriced wine.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. The menu has a lot of comfort food. Our server was fantastic. The only issue was that they were out of the bottle of wine we wanted which didn't make any sense to us.
Well this was the perfect Birthday Dinner everything about this place is special ! We had a great time !
I just wanted to say thank You Eric Cearley was so helpful & gave great customer service ! We will be back soon !
Great experience, all around! Very friendly staff (beyond), amazing menu - the food is delicious (comfort food done gourmet style) and the best ambiance! We loved everything and would highly recommend it and go again. Our busser took this pic for us from outside in - which was really sweet and everything was beyond our expectations!
Great location and friendly service. Food was good and happy hour is a good deal.
We had the best service. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine. She made great food and drink recommendations. Parking was easy (valet $10)
As a party of 2, we were the first to arrive for the lunch hour. Nevertheless, it took an extremely long time to be served each course (2 courses took over an hour). Moreover, the steak frites was served cold as if had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. I really want to like this place, but I can't. This was my second bad experience there.
Nice place. Good service. Good food but not for the price. Expected better quality of food for the price.
Pretty restaurant, but door not that great given price.
We ordered from the Dine LA menu, and my Ahi appetizer tasted a bit fishy and I asked for my burger to be well done, but it came out medium.
My husband asked for pepper for his entree, however we had to ask another waiter to bring it after the waitress got too busy.
We asked for the bill, and also had to ask for the cookies, because the waitress did not automatically bring them.
No longer love this restaurant as food quality is crucial for us. All the dishes we used to return for are gone, leaving like-anywhere-menu items. Exception: The beet and goat cheese salad was very good. Wine selection is good. Service is great.
Turns out the chef left last Sept. I googled and got his name, Scott Howard, but couldn't find where he is now.
Really liked this place
Dining at Citizen was an all-round wonderful experience: great food and just right service. The music was not too loud, and all of my favorite songs. I'll be back, bringing lots of my friends.
Dessert was served while still clearly eating main course...there was ice cream on dessert
