The restaurant was nearly empty but noisy as they had a private Christmas function.
They should have told us when we mad the reservation
Excellent food, although perhaps a little on the pricey side for what it is (our food-only bill for 3 came to $200, whereas I would have expected around $150-$160), fun atmosphere, smart-casual dress and ambiance. The brussel sprouts are amazing, and their banana split is a heart-attack waiting to happen, but soooo good! :)
We had a really relaxed, excellent birthday dinner, and were there for about 2.5 hours, which was exactly what we were after - no rush, loads of great food, fun vibe. I'd recommend this place to anybody.
have been for drinks before and always wanted to try it for dinner. VERY disappointed. The most limited menu I have ever seen in a restaurant of this size. And the items they do have are very strange. My friend ordered a Caesar salad for her entree as she could not find anything else that appealed to her. I had a mezze appetizer and a noodle dish with a limited amount of sirloin beef that was very mediocre, as was the appetizer and Caesar. Very limited wine list by the glass as well. Certainly with all the other choices within a 2 block walking distance, I cannot imagine this place will stay open much longer, unless they totally revamp the menu and get a new chef.
Loved our cheddar biscuits. Drinks were flavorful and fun.
Food was very good but just a tad pricey. Decor was cool and comfortable. Server was awesome.
Food choices are good, but they are not tasty. Chef needs to take it up a notch in adding more flavors in every dish. Making sure quality inn number 1 - after all this is in Beverly Hills on Canon and the are definitely much better food on the she strip....
Our waiter/servers did a great job...
We enjoyed w friends so sad it’s closed
The quintessential LA dining experience. The food was fantastic, service was impeccable, and our group sat at the couches around the fireplace. I would return gladly!
I love this place! It's busy enough to feel alive, but quiet enough for conversation. The food is interesting and well prepared and tasty. It's comfortable, friendly, and well-located. Go!
Great. The electricity went out and they didn’t charge us for dinner :-)
Great food, good service, great ambience - well worth a visit
The biscuits are outstanding. The cheddar are a must. The brussel sprouts are wonderful as well.
We had the steak frites which was delicious and the steak was prepared perfectly.
Only negative is the dessert chocolate bread pudding was "meh". They need a solid chocolate dessert. It was the same thing the last time we went.
If they nailed the desserts it would be an all around perfect meal.
The restaurant was half empty. Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Service was ok .
Not much happening in the restaurant
I really like this restaurant. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was unusually slow but that worked in our favor as the noise level was good and the service quite attentive. The food is quite good. I like that we can share three or four plates and have lots of delicious food without being stuffed to the gills. We had the cheddar biscuits which are served with a chive butter and smokey honey. I LOVE these! We also has the tuna tacos and the farotto as well as a yummy apple dessert. I will definitely be back.
Great food, pleasant and attentive staff and DOG FRIENDLY (outside)! We will definitely be back!
Ambiance and service were all okay. But the food wasn’t very hot and the tacos weren’t worth $22. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing.
The service was attentive and the food was delicious. Best burger I've had in a long time. Also the brussels sprouts were fantastic. The guacamole is a must have. Coming back whenever I can.
The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! My brother was in town from NYC and was very pleased with his experience!
It was great i wish they had more vegan or vegrtairn options in the menu
Heard good things but not real impressed with my lunch. I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was more bun and lettuce than it was chicken.
A pleasant surprise on every level - I am already working on my next trip back! The burger and tacos were off the charts. The fondue and smashed avocado were equally excellent.
Always a great time. Attentive service. Tasty food. Comfortable environment.
Friendly, from bussers to servers to management. Great drinks and a wide variety of food.
The service here is incredible. You are greeted with a smile, no attitudes, all very down to earth good people. This is foodie heaven, I sampled a bunch of small plates. It was hard to pick a favorite! Can't wait to go back. Awesome happy hour.
Wonderful service and great atmosphere. We did DineLA and everyone liked their meals and the value but look forward to coming back for personal choice.
Great presentation and delicious food and drinks. Outdoor ambiance is nice too
We really enjoyed our dinner, the service was good and the food was very nice. One note is the the first glass of wine is super small and the second is larger which I can only assume is a way of getting you to buy two glasses! (This happened twice so not just a one off)
Overall great and would return for sure
Food and the service were exceptional. We decided to try them before a play and we were not let down.
Great food and we were treated very kind. Our server was fabulous. We will definitely be back.
Always good food great service & a great ambience at this place called Citizen ! I am definitely a Citizen of Citizen !
This restaurant has a limited food menu but they are all fantastic.
Patio is pretty and appealing. Made a res with a note to be seated outside. Got seated in the empty indoor space and my date didn’t know to ask for outside, so it was basically like being a reality show—date in an EMPTY restaurant.
I was pretty disappointed in this dining experience. First, I had planned to meet my friend at 11:45am so we would have more time. I had even called and mentioned this and was NOT informed that the restaurant doesn't even open until noon time, which is really odd in beverly hills (or anywhere for that matter) so we were standing outside and nearly went somewhere else to eat. After we ordered, we were told that their biscuits would be another 15 minutes (they should have given these to us for this mess up on the kitchens part) and they certainly worth a $9 price point....that was absurd! the tuna in my salad was overcooked and honestly, did not taste good, like it was a lower grade tuna, so that was off-putting. and finally, when the bill came, and I put my credit card down more than 10 minutes came by and I finally had to wave someone down to take the payment. Also, I had received coffee and was never offered a 2nd cup, which I thought was also pretty poor.
We were there at an off-hour, so the place was quite loosely populated. Nevertheless, the hostess seated us at a booth right next to another party. Thankfully, they were not overly loud, but there was plenty of space to seat us another booth away from them.
The food was delicious, the plates beautifully composed, and the service excellent!
Good, farm to table food, but service could be a little bit better.
I love this restaurant! The service couldn't be sweeter or more unobtrusively attentive. The food is solid, though I would like a few more fresh options - but everything I've ever eaten here has been terrific. The drinks are good. The wine list is small but reasonable and no stinkers. There are 3 distinct areas: bar, outdoor patio, and dining room. All are busy but not overwhelming, with a good buzz but not so loud that you have to shout. One of my favorite spots in BH!
We sat on the patio because the interior was so incredibly noisy. There were no more than 5 groups of patrons indoors, but the music was just blasting. Very unpleasant.
I have been to Citizen three times and each time has been a unique and enjoyable experience. Their craft cocktails, appetizers and staff are all amazing.
Great Dining, great service by Michael. Thank you.
