Service was BAD after a large group arrived, our section was forgotten. It took forever to get anything after the large group arrival, Food was OK, lack of taste on some dishes but overall OK. View is incredible but the lack of service mad me mad. I wont recommend to anyone even for the view.
Best views in Chicago! The food and service was superb.
Outstanding food, service, and ambiance with a spectacular view! Highly recommend!
French influenced American food. Beautiful scenic views of Chicago from the 70th floor of Lake Point Tower. Food price ranged from $30-$50 for the entrée which I felt was pretty good price given the ambiance and overall experience.
Check menu online to make sure the options are to your liking. They use lots of reductions in the cooking, so if you are not into sauces then some of the options may not be for you.
I reserved a table for myself and my boyfriend for his birthday/ date night. I requested a city view knowing it was not a guarantee, but we had a BEAUTIFUL view. The service was amazing. So many smiling faces. The food was literally mouth watering- for the price it definitely was worth it. Overall, worth every penny. Will be going again. Thank you for a wonderful treat!!! The atmosphere was romantic.
Cité was the perfect place for our first date. It had a spectactular view and the staff was beyond welcoming. It was a great atmosphere. Plenty of low lighting so you can really enjoy the night skyline.
Good. Been visiting for 13+ years!
El Restaurante Perfecto
Cite was enjoyable. We were seated with a window view of the city and our waiter(s) were attentive. The food was okay, a little overpriced, but the service and scenic view made up for it.
Probably would have had a better experience if the view wasn’t blocked by all the fog but the food menu is very limited also but it was good overall!
Had a great time and dinner at Citè , the restaurant it’s beautiful with an amazing view
Food and wine delicious and service speechless!
Way to celebrate my birthday!
Absolutely perfect. Couldn’t have asked for better service, or more attentive staff. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The view is spectacular, our food was perfection, but we didn’t get our drinks till a half hour later. Service was slower than normal, but sometimes I feel they think we want it that way to soak in the view. I would go back
Cite is located on the 70th floor of the iconic Lake Point Towers with sweeping 360 degree views over our fabulous city, the Gold Coast, downtown, the beaches and parks along Lake Michigan. That is what drew me to the restaurant, and the creative menu. We took the private elevator to the 70th floor opening unto the Maitre'd station. We were given a great table along the window and grand piano with a fabulous view of Lake Shore Drive. Hovering above the rush hour traffic as far as the eye could see. We chose Cite to celebrate the selling of our home. And the staff made it a night to remember. Service was impeccable, lovely china great wine and the food was exemplary. We started with a fresh romaine ceasar salad with fresh white anchovy and shaved parmesan cheese. Then the center piece of the dinner arrived. A 32 ounce ribeye steak to share, de-boned and sliced artfully laid out and topped with a fresh homemade peppercorn sauce. The flavor was outstanding and meat tender as could be. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, our server surprised us with a complimentary bananas foster arriving on a rolling cart and presented with a whoosh of rum flambe! I highly recommend Cite. It is very fine dining and prices are high.....BUT you get what you pay for. Great for romantic night or a celebration.
The bar was quite nice too.... maybe stop in for a cocktail and appetizer sometime!
Great time, delicious food and great service. Took my girlfriend for her birthday, she loved it.
Our server was amazing! All our expectations were meet
The food was very good and the service was super good and the view was great. Seen chicago at night while dining was amazing.
the food was great but the service was quite slow and unattentive for how small, not crowded, and pricey the restaurant was.
1. Was initially seated in back over the roof. We joked about this on the the way there as "every time" we have been to this restaurant (5+ times) they always attempt to seat us there.
2. The chair had to be swapped out from the 2nd location we were seated at as the chair legs were noticeably loose such that there was a very high probability the chair might have broke.
3. No one approached us for about 5 min. upon seating.
4. We had to ask for the tasting menu.
5. Seafood tower was good. Soup was good. Salad had too much dressing. Wife's seabass was good. Ribeye prepared medium was horrible - tough, chewy and visually not appealing. I had to sent it back and choose Seabass instead. Mushroom side was good.
6. Wait and table staff was very nice and understanding yet a bit slow. Hostess was very nice and engaging.
7. Worst experience of all the times we have dined here, so much so that we talked about whether we should continue to dine here.
8. Not what one would expect from a restaurant of this stature. They can do (and in the past have done) BETTER.
My wife and I have been to Cite a couple times when we visit Chicago. This time I brought my Daughter and Granddaughters. Great experience. Treated my Granddaughters like any other patron. I have been to restaurants with comparable food, but never one with the food and the view.
So I just wanted to start off by saying Cite was very good last year when me and my girlfriend went there for Valentine’s Day. We loved it so much that we booked a table for this year. Unfortunately, we did not experience the same service. It was two completely different services and it was upsetting. When we got there we got seated fairly quick, but did not receive our menus nor get greeted for about 25 min, but the table behind us, which was seated after us had already received their menus and met their server. Our first course was bought out to us after our second course was served, which they didn’t even realize until I pointed it out. Our server did not check up on us until the third course was received. When our third course was received it was incorrect. We ordered two soups, but got one salad and one soup which caused us to wait even longer. The soup was ‘tableside’ but when we told them the order was incorrect the soup was bought to us already made. The whole experience was prolonged to almost two and a half hours. It took so long and we got so impatient that we asked to take our main courses to go. This was completely different than our first valentines there. I would love to book with Cite again, but the expectation that was set the first time was not even close to being met. Very unhappy with our visit and hopefully this feedback is taken into consideration.
It was Valentine's Day, they need more on the menu! Paid 175.00 a person and we didn't have any sides. The only seafood choice was salmon which was wack. The view is amazing and the waiter was great !
It was very nice the preset menu was well put together the ambiance was fantastic for our first experience. It is definitely a perfect place for dates and romantic special occasions. I am very pleads with dining at cite.
Went on the 13th to celebrate Valentines day as I had to due to scheduling. It was amazing! First time and the ambiance was the best. Very cordial waiter as well!
It was great.
The hostess Susan was amazing. From the greeting to the goodbye she made the evening. The waiter was informative and provided great service.
It was my second time at Cite. Denis provided outstanding service. Honestly, besides the amazing view and great service, the food is just okay, nothing to be impressed. Overall it’s a great dining experience for a special occasion.
DON'T WORTH THE VIEW
The kitchen was a little slow, but other than that everything was great. Good waitor, good food and nice atmosphere. I do however wish they could reserve window seats.
The best thing about this restaurant is the spectacular view. First we were seated at a table that was on study and rocked and they gave us pushback about changing our table. The waiter had way too many people he was trying to serve at the same time. He spent 20 minutes at the table next to us taking their order even after we told them we were on a time schedule to make it to the theater. Instead of waiting we got up went to the bar had an appetizer and a cocktail and left
Some of the food seemed to have been sitting out a while so it came out tough. Once redone it was perfect
They did not honor the restaurant week menu offered on their website. Very misleading! We were disappointed. Server claimed that they had run out of some of the items.
We had group of 6 and were seated in the back of the restaurant (The view is different). Our waiter Noe did a terrific job, very pleasant and professional, great guy! The food was just ok, lacked seasoning.
Service was terrible, ordered oysters, one was bad... took a long time for dinner to arrive or even another drink.. Ask for one thing special, called before and even talked to waiter... asked for a special dessert.. all I wanted .. They forgot !!!! Please don’t ever do here for a special occasion
Excellent food and service with a great view! Overall great experience and value!
Been here a few times now, usually to celebrate a special occasion. Most tables have stunning views. Warning not to sit to close to the bar though... Food is delicious although very expensive and portions are small. They used to open much earlier, now only at 6pm. This takes away the beautiful views transitioning from sunset to evening, which takes away some of the ambience. Not exactly sure why this was done but perhaps for financial reasons. I must caution against the gift card options however. I purchased the gift card which was supposed to give you an additional $25 of buying power per $100 purchased. I purchased $200 worth of gift cards which translated into an additional $50 worth of "bonus cards" for a total of $250. I was told that I could not use the bonus cards with the original gift card. (Only one card per meal). I was surprised as I read the fine print when purchasing and was not informed of this. I would have been okay with this development until I was informed that only $190 of my original $200 gift card purchase could be used because the gift cards didn't cover taxes!?!?!? This led to $10 of the original $200 gift card being useless (taxes were about $22) as I used the electronic version and was told that it couldn't record a $10 balance. I apologize for the long review (I usually don't write long reviews) but wanted to be sure I informed other potential guests of this situation so they won't suffer the same fate... Additionally, the last time I dined here for someone's birthday, they did a cute birthday design tribute with the dessert for my guest. Not so much this time despite me clearly informing them of the birthday occasion at reservation and while receiving our drink order. In addition, the dress code seem not to be enforced as strictly as I remembered in the past as several guests showed up in blue jeans and gym shoes... Overall, I would recommend the restaurant, but honestly, things have changed a little...
The ambiance and food were outstanding. This is definitely a top restaurant for intimate dates for you and your significant other.
Professional service, snoothing atmosphere and great food, tender and tasty.
Went here for New Years had one of the best experiences! Ken made sure to make our night even more enjoyable by placing us to a better table when asked for. The service and food were both outstanding!
We normally love going to Cite. The food and service are usually excellent and you can't beat the views. Unfortunately, they fell short for New Year's Eve which was very disappointing. We got our second course of the tasting menu before we could even eat the first one. The subsequent courses came as soon as the last bite of the previous one was consumed. My husband was brought a repeat of the third course instead of his chosen item for the fourth course. Amir did quickly rectify this error, though. Overall, we felt like we were being rushed through the evening. Amir was one of the bright spots for the evening. He was his usual kind and attentive self in spite of being very busy.
