Chef Marc Collins draws inspiration from many cuisines around the world to create a menu that is truly unique to the Charleston restaurant scene. Drawing inspiration from historic Southern dishes and always highlighting what is local and in season, Chef Collins puts a healthful, distinctive spin on classic Lowcountry dishes. This means there is less butter and cream than typically seen on Southern menus. Whole grains are incorporated to dishes and ingredients are used at the peak of flavor. The result is satisfying dishes that retain their bright, bold flavors without the large amounts of fat found in many restaurant dishes. From our Plantation Rice Bread Rolls made in house daily, to the selection of local seafood, to Pastry Chef Lovorn’s incredible desserts, each dinner at Circa 1886 celebrates the region we call home. The restaurant week deal was outstanding! I had the pork belly app, antelope as the main course, and pumpkin soufflé for dessert. All were fantastic! My date had the same but ordered the beef Piedmontese which was equally as delicious. Great service and excellent wine selection!

Tried this restaurant for the first time Friday night, (restaurant week), wasn't expecting it to be terrific, because usually restaurants during restaurant week are too busy to pay attention to detail, I was wrong, wrong, wrong. The service, from Caitlyn, was outstanding only matched by the restaurant week menu. Everything was perfectly prepared and served piping hot, only to be beaten by the dessert, the Caramel Apple Cake, one of the best desserts I've ever had.

Had dinner at Circa 1886 to celebrate anniversary. Second time at this restaurant. The food and service were top of the line. It is pricey but good for special occasions. Enjoyed an enclosed booth which made the evening very cozy. The restaurant was full and the conversation level around us was lively but not too noisy. Will consider this restaurant again for other special occasions.
