Chef Marc Collins draws inspiration from many cuisines around the world to create a menu that is truly unique to the Charleston restaurant scene. Drawing inspiration from historic Southern dishes and always highlighting what is local and in season, Chef Collins puts a healthful, distinctive spin on classic Lowcountry dishes. This means there is less butter and cream than typically seen on Southern menus. Whole grains are incorporated to dishes and ingredients are used at the peak of flavor. The result is satisfying dishes that retain their bright, bold flavors without the large amounts of fat found in many restaurant dishes. From our Plantation Rice Bread Rolls made in house daily, to the selection of local seafood, to Pastry Chef Lovorn’s incredible desserts, each dinner at Circa 1886 celebrates the region we call home. The private dining room (Tack Room)with mirroring fireplaces and six windows overlooking our garden can accommodate up to 38 people. Our Garden Room also offers a private dining experience perfect for a party of up to 12. Several different banquet menus are offered for private parties.

30th wedding anniversary dinner was outstanding. Definitely request s booth if available. The food, service and ambiance were all superb. Highly recommend.

A truly remarkable meal, paired with outstanding service. We were unaware that it was Charleston Restaurant Week, but the chef still provided the full menu instead of a limited selection. Every dish was incredible, and the wine pairings (appropriately different for each dish as opposed to a standard selection per course regardless of order) were superbly selected. The caramel apple cake was without a doubt the best cake I have ever eaten. Sarah provided expert and comfortable service and was thoroughly charming. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Charleston.

Loved it! Get the coconut cake. The staff attentive and the food was exceptional ... be sure to have reservations ... the attire is jacket preferred but I saw a good mix

Stayed at the Wentworth Mansion for a weekend getaway in Charleston. We went to Circa 1886 our first night in town and absolutely loved it. It was restaurant week and the food was not only amazing, the prix fixe menu with wine pairing was an absolute bargain.

A friend and I gave Circa 1886 a try for restaurant week. We made reservations. The hostess gave us a call prior verifying it with us. The ambiance was oozing; the staff were friendly and attentive. The service was impeccable. The food and wine were very good. This place deserves a repeat performance on a regular basis.

Restaurant week 3 course menu. Very lovely restaurant newly renovated. Creative menu. Great pacing, attentive service and interesting menu choices. A great value for restaurant week. The beets appetizer was terrific, the antelope was tender and delicious. The desserts were also wonderful. Recommend this charming restaurant.
