The food was wonderful and Charles provided outstanding service! We will be back and we highly recommend.
This was our 2nd time dinning at Circa 1886 while visiting Charleston, our 2nd Birthday celebration there.
Very elegant and very expensive. Interesting and unusual menu with extensive wine list. Service a bit too obsequious for my taste. A walk up to the cupola on the Wentworth Mansion was wonderful.
Excellent food but a little pricey for just any night out. Service was incredible and the food was awesome even if it was a little eclectic. Best apple soufflé I've ever had, hands down.
My husband and I dined at Circa to celebrate our 7th anniversary. The food and service was amazing. Our only gripe was that the amount of food was far less than expected. After appetizers, our meal, and even dessert, we had to plan our "after dinner meal". We spent nearly $200 for two and left wanting more, but while the food we had was great it simply wasn't enough. I would certainly recommend Circa, but with that disclaimer. Great food, but we won't be back.
The food was amazing. The have a pastry chef so the desserts were made to order and delicious.
We had a reservation and arrived on time. Greeters (two young gals) initially told us we had to wait "because our waiter had just gotten another table seated", then as soon as we sat down to wait we were told our table was ready (elapsed time about 15 seconds). The restaurant was pleasant but not noteworthy. Food was quite bland (the duck breast was thick and tasteless; the tuna was just OK; the fried artichoke appetizer was so poor that the waiter apologized and took it off the bill). We were disappointed as this was a special weekend in Charleston and we had heard good things about this restaurant. It is pricey but not worth it.
This was our first time at Circa 1886 and it we had a wonderful meal. The service was spot on as well. I had the artichoke appetizer and the blackened catfish main course. Both were very well prepared. My husband had the cabbage salad and beef dinner and he thought both were wonderful. We were too full for dessert. The wine selection by the glass was good and the prices were in line with other fine dining in Charleston. We would visit Circa 1886 again.
