Over priced average food. Reinforced my dislike of hotel restaurants.
My food was outstanding...flavorful and plenty of it. Prices aren’t cheap but hey, YOLO.
We came for Restaurant Week, so we only had the special menu for choosing from. Everything we had was average, nothing stood out as great and at the same time nothing stood out as horrible.
The lighting was way too bright for a dinner, they really should be able to dim down the lighting some to give it more of a dinner restaurant feel. Overall for the price I feel like there are much better dinner options available in Madison.
food was horrible, service was great, enjoyed the atmosphere in the lounge
The food was good but it's really just a hotel restaurant.
The lights for dinner were way to bright. Felt cafeteria-like. I would dim them at dinner.
Great menu! Highly recommend the charcuterie & cheese board.
Amazing food and very vegetarian friendly!
Went to have Walleye that was on the website menu & didn’t have it
We were very happy to be able to make a reservation the day of graduation for 4 of us not actually having realiz3d it was graduation day until we arrived in town. The salad bar selection was very fresh and clean, the flat bread was very good and the service was excellent. As a hotel restaurant it was quite pleasant and we'd go back again.
Central item in each entree was well prepared but accompaniments were either bland or unnecessary. Tendency to add one too many things to an otherwise good dish. Not much atmosphere. Good reasonably priced wine list.
This is a great find. It is a "hotel" restaurant but the quality is dramatically better than most hotel associated restaurants.
Ambience was magic! Food is exquisite! The whole experience was amazing!
We were enticed by decent reviews and a tasty-looking menu, but the dinner itself fell flat. Very much a hotel restaurant - both of our proteins were at least medium instead of medium rare, and the flavor just didn't really stand out. The portion sizes were quite large, so you definitely feel like you get something for your money, just not a fabulous dining experience compared to other options Downtown Madison.
Was not aware this was in a hotel
Ambiance okay ...fairly plain decor
Service was great- friendly and attentive
Unfortunately food was all overcooked (all 3 of us had the same entree as it was a special). Day before Easter and only a few tables occupied but cornbread in cast iron burned on the bottom and pork tenderloin overdone and dry. Hope they read this and improve. It is an amazing hotel and I’m willing to give it another try.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Circ with both of us especially enjoying the scallops and salads. Generally I avoid hotel restaurants, but Circ offers very good food which was welcome on a cold sleety evening.
The restuarant's location in the building is a bit less than luxurious, particularly for its price range. It's almost open to the lobby which is great for breakfast, but less than intimate for dinner.
Yet very nice food and solid service.
This restaurant is in a hotel. I wasn't aware of it when I booked the table. As such, it wasn't very intimate and it had a very limited menu. The food was pretty good and the service was excellent though. I would recommend this as a good place to go if you aren't necessarily looking for a romantic date night but rather a good place for a meal and drinks.
This was our first visit, and we enjoyed it very much. We were welcomed immediately and shown to a relatively private table. The host brought us water immediately, and then our server came and took our drink order and answered some questions. Our server and the management were both attentive without hovering, which we appreciated. The food was delicious, as well.
Overall, I thought it was a good dining experience. The food was the best part. I had the scallops with pork belly. The folks at CIRC perfectly cooked it. The only drawback was I felt I was just in a hotel restaurant, and not an actual restaurant. The noise level was higher given the location and there was a lot of foot traffic. If this does not bother you, I'd recommend the restaurant given the quality of the food. For me, I will likely not go back as although the food was good, you can get a better dining experience for the same price in Madison.
Excellent dining option within the Madison Concourse Hotel.
Tables are set a bit closer than I'd like, but c'est la vie. Food was delicious and service was attentive without being intrusive. Would recommend.
A wonderfully relaxing, light, airy and open atmosphere. Service was very friendly and quick but not rushed. Food was amazing! Our group of 7 all had the salad bar which was beautiful and scrumptious! From salad to soup to pastas and desserts, everything was amazing.
Breakfast was just ok. Pineapple juice rancid and meat in breakfast burrito was bad. Enjoyed the Starbucks next door much better
Excellent food and perfect location for an Overture Center preshow meal.
Celebrated my daughter-in-laws birthday.
Excellent menu, all our dishes were superb. Service was friendly and efficient. Quiet enough for good conversation. Getting a reservation on a busy weekend night was easy. Highly recommend.
We had reservations at 6:30 but did not get seated until 7:30. We were not able to make it to our planned outing on time afterward. We were very understanding that prior diners weren’t leaving but the CIRC did not offer anything in return...despite the reservation.
Nice restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. Close to Overture Center.
We greatly enjoyed a lovely meal before going to the Overture Center for a Broadway show. Our waiter was very attentive and provided wonderful service.
We enjoyed our meal but waited a good five minutes to be seated or even acknowledged on this very slow day. There were only 2 other occupied tables when we were seated. I'd have to say that the food and service made up for it. Some background music would warm the atmosphere.
Excellent choice for dinner pre-Overture. Excellent service, excellent food, music could have been lower (but we kept forgetting to ask). My friend has a disability and the waitperson was very thoughtful. Thanks!
Brightly lit, loud with people and kids running theough. Mediocre food and service for what you’re paying for. Clearly there for the hotel guests and likely convenient for the downtown lunch crowd, but not a destination place for dinner!
Interesting and varied menu in a casual venue. Appreciate the 1/2 pasta dish option and the "small plates". Parking is an issue when the Concourse ramp is full or only open to hotel guests.
Menu was fairly limited and the server was almost too considerate. We missed a reservation for dessert because the entree was delayed until we finished our appetizer (which was nice, just not communicated)
Food and location were very nice, but nothing really set it apart.
Their desserts worth a try
Table of women too loud nothing done about it.
Fantastic salad bar!
Beautiful presentation. Decent wine list. Didn't expect it to be the hotel restaurant though.
I ate at CIRC while staying at the Concourse. My feelings about my dining experience are mixed. First, the service was excellent. My server was friendly, professional, and helpful. My meal was at best ok. The pork chop was tasty and well prepared. The dressing that accompanied the pork chop was the problem. The first time I took a bite the center of the serving was ice cold. I notified my server who apologized and went back to get me another serving of dressing. The second serving was only a little better -- maybe room temperature. Again, the server apologized and told me that I would not be charged for my glass of wine. I know that it is not fair to judge any business on one experience; however, I don't feel that I need to revisit CIRC because I don't get to Madison that often and there are so many options in Madison.
Restaurant week. Very good value and well executed dinner. The food quality was high, the menu creative and a generous portion for restaurant week.
The server was attentive and appeared busy. The server should know when people ask for herbal tea it generally means non caffeinated. I asked for lemon herbal and got earl gray with lemon. Not a big deal, except I drank it all and stayed awake!
Loved our Restaurant week meal! Will definitely be back!
