Fantastic service by the wait staff
This was my 2nd time to Cira. I brought a friend and my son this time. The meal/food was just amazing. My friend says this is her new favorite restaurant. Chef CP is the best! Tell him Alan Sosa told us what to order and he was spot on. Everything was amazing! I love coming to everything Cira, love the bar area. The staff is so exceptionally professional and friendly. Can't wait to come back.
The food was great
Easily shareable plates and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the pastas.
The space is elegantly design. The menu is limited. So I advise first timers to check the menu in advance to find the items that’s with them. The smaller plates for more delicious than the larger ones. Service was a bit slow.
Great food and service. Very loud. I recommend going with a group so you can try several items on the menu.
Went for brunch and everything was delicious! It was surprisingly easy to get in especially for the area (even though we had a reservation we probably didn’t need one.) The service was decent, but it definitely could have been better considering that it wasn’t a packed house. I’ve also been for drinks late on Friday (then it WAS packed!) The ambiance and music were great but the drinks certainly weren’t the best I’ve ever had. Luckily Lazy Bird is just downstairs and’s one of my absolute favorites!
It was dark in the dining area where we had dinner and hard to see the food with one candle light lol. Wish there could be more lighting
Food is just too fussy. Getting more basics on menu will drive traffic. Will not do lunch again.
Great ambiance. Love the avocado toast and the cinnamon roll. Pancakes are amazing too.
Overall experience was ok, I mean there was nothing outstanding in the food we tried.
Food was delicious. Service was really impressive- professional, yet unobtrusive.
Love the different types of hummus . Pita Is divine. Also enjoyed vegetable small plates and creative, low fat Caesar salad. Desserts were rich, but very tasty. Loved key lime pie.
We had a fantastic dinner! Everything we ordered was something new to us and was all flavored uniquely. The server explained everything to us clearly and helped us make excellent real choices. The drinks were exceptional as well. Overall a wonderful experience.
Great food however with limited options. Will likely return for a lunch meeting
We dined at Cira with friends fairly early on a Friday night. The menu was interesting and focused on mediterranean dishes with a good mix of vegetarian, meat and seafood options. The hummus and the pistachio ravioli were particularly good! Overall the food was quite tasty. Our server was ok, he poured red wine into my not empty white wine glass. The support staff was great, very efficient and friendly. By 7 pm the noise level made it extremely difficult to carry on a conversation. Consequently, I would recommend it, with reservations.
Great venue, service and music ... but a bit too loud
The setting at the Hoxton is awesome and this restaurant is right off the lobby/bar area. Very cool space and great people watching. Food was incredible. Highly recommend.
I made reservations to Cira since my girlfriend and I booked a stay at the Hoxton and figured it would be simple enough. It exceeded our expectations. The food was incredibly tasty and was extremely reasonably priced for the caliber of experience. For a “hotel restaurant,” Cira definitely should be instead defined a “fine-dining restaurant” that happens to be in a hotel. The only downside, and this doesn’t necessarily take away from the entire experience, was that our server was not very attentive. Although I understand Friday nights are busy times for any establishment in the West Loop, other tables were being attended to more frequently. I will definitely be back—with or without a hotel stay!
Great spot in The Hoxton! The food was good and service was awesome.
Service was quite good, but some items (Rock Shrimp) not as good as we had hoped. Value for our meal was pretty good. Loved the vibe of the place.
Definitely coming back!
The food was amazing but the service was terrible and it ruined the overall experience. The menu changed from what was listed online which was extremely disappointing as the actual menu was condensed and more basic. The server had 4 tables without beverages or food for about 20 minutes. The salad took about 45 minutes after we ordered it and the meals were not coursed out well. The food was exceptional but the overall experiences suffered.
This was our first time to CIRA. It was crazy busy due to all the folks in town for NBA All Star Weekend, which obviously cranked up the noise level and energy....fun! The food was not great, but not bad either. The menu does have some nice variety and we especially liked the SKATE Fish, which we catch all the time in North Carolina but didn't know one could eat them. The drinks were different, but I think for the price you could serve a bit more (drinks were very small). The service was great and our waiter was pleasant and very attentive. I would not necessarily not recommend CIRA, nor would I particularly recommend it either. It is in a trendy area with lots of fun people, but with ALL of the food choices in our great city, I think our money would be better spent elsewhere. That's why the 3 Star rating.....so-so.
Fantastic food and service provided in a lively and energetic atmosphere.
We went here for a date on valentine’s day. Despite the atmosphere being loud, we had a reservation and were seated in a quieter area which was really nice of them. The mood was nice and the service was exceptional. Our appetizers of hummus and falafel were really good too. My girlfriend ordered the pistachio ravioli and i ordered the valentine’s day special pasta dish. It was not special. It was basic. Boiled pasta, parmesan, some salt. I was not impressed.
The restaurant was amazing. The only comment- it was a bit dark. Had a hard time reading the menus without our phone lights.
We ordered beef cheeks and ot was so salty. I know thats salty and savory but it was way too much salty that we could not able to finish beef cheeks. Other appetizers include hummus, rock shrimp and felafels were great. However, we won’t be back since we address the saltiness of the entree but no one apologized for that.
Went for Restaurant week. Ambiance is nice, service is attentive. Cocktails are amazing, chicken liver mousse and smoked mackerel "Taramasalata" were out of this world good. The beef cheek was incredibly tender and full of flavor, as was the mushroom farroto. The desserts were interesting, but missed the mark a little. The chocolate cremeux and carrot cake were both too salty, the dessert plate was either a bit too dry or a bit too bitter. The concepts were great it just seemed like they tried a little too hard. Will definitely still be back.
Our server was awesome and attentive! This is what ranked Cira high for us. We were recommended by friends to check this place out (especially for the cinnamon rolls). We are our cinnamon roll first and honestly, it was really dense. Even the middle was not soft and ooey as we expected, but overall- it was a fine cinnamon roll. We ordered a few a-la-carte items for brunch. Again, all “fine” buy nothing that wowed us. Will try again for lunch/dinner hoping that it was just an off day.
May feel differently if it wasn’t for our server though. He really made this gathering more up beat and enjoyable.
Service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come over to get our drink order. Then had to flag down a food runner to get our check. Won’t be back.
Very noisy on a Saturday night, not terrible but be prepared. Food was good not great. Had the skate wing entree, the preparation was heavy breaded and fried. Wish it had a citrus sauce and not breaded.
Amazing! Bruce was great! Food was an EXPERIENCE, and hosts were very polite.
First time there and went with friends during restaurant week. Pre-fix menu with lots of choices. Food and service were both great. We’ll return.
Extremely pricey! But good food.
Everything was amazing!! Well above my expectations. Easily some of the best Mediterranean food you can get in Chicago.
Cira was all around a great experience! It’s a shared spaced with The Hoxton hotel bar, so it was lively with the music and ambiance. The food was great - highly recommend the carrot cake dessert especially, it was the best I’ve ever had! Came for restaurant week but will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
Came to Cira for Restaurant Week, and it was by far one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The food and drinks were nothing less than delicious! The restaurant is off the lobby of the Hoxton Hotel, and the ambience is very swanky. It's a great spot for dinner or even a good happy hour.
Good value for restaurant week but food wasn’t great (in particular the beef cheek, carrot cake)
It was restaurant week so we had the fixed menu from 1st course of appetizers:mackerel and shrimp that’s delicious to main course of lamb and skatewing
Great food and ambiance
