Cinque Terre is a beautiful area of the Italian Riviera which is comprised of five villages. The towns are connected by medieval style walkable paths. Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore are set on steep rock formations at the water's edge. These villages are a favored destination for travelers to Italy where seafood is prevalent. Pesto, a condiment made of fresh basil, is the flagship of tradition in the region. At Cinque Terre, we make our pesto every day from the freshest and top quality ingredients. We always have on the menu, Muscoli (mussels), Polpo (octopus), Gamberi (shrimp) and a variety of seasonal seafood, artisan pizzas along with house-made pastas. This was my first time here and I had made a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday. Everything was great, however, the server forgot to bring out the birthday dessert which was very disappointing because I had wanted it to be a surprise.

I would not go back. Our waiter brought our drinks and got them backwards (gave me my wife’s drink). We ordered a half dozen oysters. He just put in the order and didn’t ask us if we wanted a mix of the two special oysters or one or the other. My fish was supposed to be deboned but they left the boney structures around the gills. These are not small bones. They are big ½ moon pieces. The spinach was very acidic and cooked in vinegar. Both my wife and I found it inedible. Not worth the $200 we spent or even ½ that.

I’m really curious if this is how the chef de cuisine expected the food to be prepped.

...fabulous! we enjoyed everything! I liked that their cream soup wasn't loaded with cream. They got the flavor, but not with excess fat. Very thoughtful in everything. Highly recommend!

We came here for our 5th-year anniversary on a brisk November night - I mentioned in the note that we would be celebrating the above. I arrived before my significant other to a table with menus that read "Happy 5th Year Anniversary" at the top and table away from the others so that we could enjoy each other's company. In addition, we were greeted by Carrie, our waitress; she was outstanding. I would go back just for her service! Then the food! OH, THE FOOD! Everything was delicious and timely. I ordered the Steak and she had the Salmon. Both were so fresh and well prepared. We dabbled with desert too; for me the cannoli, and for her (both of us) the tiramisu. Both to die for!

All in all, these guys did an outstanding job and they know how to make a special night even better. Thanks a ton!

When we told our server we were there to try out the restaurant for Seattle Restaurant Week, he seemed to lose all interest in serving us. He rushed us through the three courses in about 45 minutes.
The menu places an emphasis on being fresh and local, but our entrees seemed like they were precooked and re-warmed, not fresh. The salmon saltimbuca was hard and dry. The tiramisu was pretty good though.
I really feel like the experience could have been improved if we had a different server. I don’t need a server to be obsequious. Just don’t act like you’re disgusted to be serving us. We had high expectations for this place and we really wanted to like it, which is too bad because with so many excellent dining establishments in town we are unlikely to go back

Next time we go, we will ask to be seated in the alcove where it should be quieter. We enjoyed our meals. The salmon could have cooked less. It was very tasty but a bit dry to our taste. The steak was perfect.

Got one order wrong. The Steak that was brought back to replace wrong order was raw,cold, & mostly grizzle. The rest of our meal was good. We know things happen. Our server was very pleasant.

We went during the Seattle restaurant week. We picked Wagyu. It was served with POWDERED mash potatoes. That's not how you serve Wagyu even if it is a cross breed. It was a low grade wagyu so basically prime /prime plus steak with wagu dna.
Anyways, it was drenched in sauce and put on top of powdered instant mash potatoes.
When I asked her questions about the grade, she said she will be back and never came back.
I buy Olive A5 Wagu and A4/A5 Wagu from Japan often so I know...

Dear guest, we are very surprised and saddened to read your review. As we appreciate your patronage, we object to several statements you've made. Our mashed potatoes are NOT powder, that's actually a compliment because we are able to ULTRA-STRAIN it so well that they appeared to you to be powder. Our menu clearly states that the meat is Snake River Farms wagyu sirloin. This is a northwest family owned operation with many employees that put a lot of VERY HARD work. They are offended, simply

The food and atmosphere was great. Though the booths in the corner (where we were seated) were very close to each other. The service could use some improvement though. Our food took over an hour to come out, while other tables that arrived after us got their food much faster, and the waiter did not come to check in the entire time we were waiting, to the point where I had to go seek him out to ask what the status was. Overall, a pretty good place, but could use a few improvements.

Our first dining experience at Cinque Terre was great. Our server, Darco, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. Our pasta dish was perfect and the pizza was wonderful as well. We'll be back soon.

As just arrived in Seattle and it had been a long day we just wanted a quick supper with a glass of champagne - this gem of a restaurant couldn’t have been nicer! We had the fish soup - don’t be misled this was far more than just a soup and was excellent, I believe one of the restaurant’s signature dish, and the carpaccio which was prepared to perfection. Out lovely server, Carrie really looked after us - we had such a pleasant evening - thank you. Maria & Paul.

Food and service we're outstanding! We were celebrating my fiance's birthday and loved seeing happy birthday at the top of the menu, to the impeccable service from our server to the amazing dishes and the complimentary tiramisu. We look forward to coming back.

Darko was amazing! If you’ve never been before or are new to the area he has incredible recommendations. I highly recommend the Rigatoni al cinghiale! It was incredible.

We were a party of four celebrating 3 birthdays. The hostess greeted us warmly and with birthday wishes as I had indicated the occasion in my reservation. When she seated us, she handed us menus which were labeled happy birthday and made us feel very welcome. Our waitress, Carrie, was an absolute delight! She made the entire evening even more wonderful. She advised us on menu items, answered all our questions, and took wonderful care of us. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. Portions were very generous and our main courses arrived piping hot. We were treated to a very special celebration at dessert time which topped off a perfect evening. I highly recommend this Restaurant for all and any occasion.

This was the first time dining here that I was underwhelmed. The server was relatively new, and was doing his best to be interactive with us, but his social skills were a bit off. Timing of certain things coming to the table was out of whack--oysters that were to be a starter arrived after a reminder and entrees had already been served. It was a Monday and not a busy night, yet a beer was out after one glass served to one of my guests, a dessert was out--and then five minutes later was magically available, and another special was out. (We were there at 5:30 p.m., by the way.)

Overall, it was fine. But it was odd to have menu items unavailable that early in the dining evening, and the service and food delivery timing should absolutely have been better.

So from the beginning this experience was a mess. Our reservation was for 12, they took us to table with 10. Not such a big deal easily fixed. We sat down, mind you right in front of the kitchen and service station, and it took me getting up and asking the hostess to get our server to get any service - around 20 minutes! Drinks took forever, food took forever and we had to actually ask to have the empty glasses and plates taken away. They sat there for over 30 minutes as they served around them. The price point is absurd to quality of food and the service is awful. Avoid at all costs!!

This was our first time, and I've added to my very short list of favorite downtown restaurants. We loved every dish that we had. Started with a roasted tomato soup with other ingredients (garbanzo beans & other) that was delicious. Fresh, clean flavor. My partner had a veggie appetizer, similar experience, fresh clean flavor nicely blended, not fussy. We had pasta for main course, again flavors of each ingredient came through and were beautifully balanced (spaghetti al granchio, fettuccine al coniglio). Our dessert was worth going back for just for itself: pear tart on frangipane base. Thank you, pastry chef. They make their own bread, also great.

We decided to go all Polpo (Octopus) for our meal, and what a great decision. The grilled appetizer, the Bucatelli with sauce and very tender meat, and the charred entree were perfectly executed and attractively served. Our server Miguel, and the dining room manager Michael were friendly and attentive. Even the owner came by to greet us and chat. Overall a terrific experience.
