Cinnamon in Ranelagh is an eatery that has a menu to cater for any time of day. Starting with brunch and finishing with an evening A la carte menu they offer a selection of traditional dishes with a twist from around the globe. When looking at the breakfast menu you can find anything from an Irish potato farl with black pudding to an eggs Benedict. The restaurant is perfectly located in the heart of Ranelagh village, with their sister restaurant located a little further south in Monkstown Dublin.

Cinnamon is one of my fave places to eat in Dublin. I used to eat here quite a bit. However in the last few months I was recently diagnosed as Coeliac and this was my first time eating here since then. I was v disappointed with the knowledge about my GF options. The menu didn’t indicate any allergens on it so you are at the mercy of the staff. She was as helpful as she could be and did check with the chef but it made it v awkward for me and her uncertainly made me wary. Unfortunately I’d have to think twice about eating here again as a result.

Great food, great service and the interior was great. Lots of interesting design choices. There were a couple of unruly kids there while we were and the decibels got a bit too much but would genuinely recommend cinnamon as it was probably just an unlucky coincidence.

Service was awful - had to flag someone down anytime we wanted drinks or to actually order food. Water was dropped off and never refilled. Never got a second round of drinks. Food was ok, nothing fantastic and chicken tasted like it had been freezer burned and then cooked. Dessert tasted spoiled and inedible - one was removed from the bill. The staff was too busy doing end-of-shift prep to actually wait on customers.

Lovely food ! Great menu
Just wish they could get the lighting right as it’s very very bright in the evening and makes for a better atmosphere if lighting were not so full on!
Really great food though.

Food disappointing. A prawn cocktail in glass served minus serving plate, appropriate cutlery & brown bread. 2 sizzling prawn dishes lacked sizzle, had 6 vine tomatoes included with a tikka type sauce - weird.Mains of hake, chicken special & burger all served with lukewarm potatoes / chips and presentation plates of hake & chicken totally overcrowded with diced tomatoes & more. Off putting.

Our reservation was for 8.30pm and shortly afterwards a family group with 3 under 5’s were seated next to us . When the inevitable screaming & weeping occurred, I wondered why that party had not been seated elsewhere in the by now almost empty restaurant.
The initial service was very good & a little wine tasting facilitated.

I went with my family to Cinnamon restaurant in Ranelagh for my birthday. The food was delicious great menu and some good options if you are ceoeliac. The service couldn't have been better and each member of staff was friendly and efficient. This was my first time to visit I will certainly go back.

Food was fantastic and the staff were superb despite being very stretched due to how busy it was. Only negative I would give is that this is the second time I have been and both times they were missing a number of things from the menu, not reliable from this point of view!!

Found our meal very disappointing, as we have been regulars of the Ranelagh Branch. We were booked for an 8p.m, which obviously did not particularly suit the the staff on the night. There was no atmosphere, quality of food was poor, I ordered Chicken Korma, the chicken very tough and rubbery, my colleague found the scallops poor also. By 9.30pm it was obvious we were the last people sitting and in the way, only offered teas/coffee.s after our mains, so we felt we had no option to pay and go next door for a drink. Very disappointing, won't be back.

The burgers were so overdone, they were black and gray. Sizzling shrimp starter was lukewarm. Pasta with shrimp and a tomato fennel sauce had red chili in it. No mention of chili on the menu and overpowered the taste of the sauce and shrimp. Sticky toffee pudding was stodgy, dry and just not very good. Was left basically uneaten and staff never asked if anything was wrong with it. While it was New Year's Day and they may have been short staffed which is why we had to wave a member of staff down when we wanted something. On the plus side, goats cheese salad was good, chicken wings, and Moroccan vegetarian tagine.

Excellent value early bird. Starters were enormous - if you're smart - order 1 starter between 2 people - 2 mains - 1 dessert between 2 people. The whole meal will cost €42 - the food is not outstanding - but it is grand for the price of it. We enjoyed our night.

Food was excellent, have eaten here multiple times. Would highly recommend the Duck.
Only negative was the staff, who, when serving were polite and efficient, but someone (I'm assuming the Manager) kept stopping beside our table to give orders to his staff, to give out for over filling Prosecco glasses and requesting status updates "who's on dessert/ how long before they're finished etc".
Very off putting right beside you while you try to enjoy your meal. Would still recommend, just ask for a table in the corner away from staff walking past!
