A favorite restaurant of mine in St. Helena! The food and service are always top notch. I went for lunch with a coworker this time. The carnitas tacos appetizer was so good. We both had salads, chicken curry and mango avocado with salmon - our plates were cleaned. We had enough room for dessert believe it or not, the key lime pie and the Fancy Nancy were so good, not overly sweet and easy to share. I would highly recommend this restaurant to locals and anyone visiting from out of town.
The concepts and the food are always outstanding, what a wonderful wonderful meal!!!
Friends from LA were in town so we decided on Cindy's. A short two block walk from home. Great cuisine. No corkage if the reservation was made on Open Table. Cindy's is one of my "go to" places in Saint Helena.
Disappointing..Waited over 40 minutes for our food. When it came it was wrong. My cheeseburger was missing the cheese. When they "fixed" the cheeseburger the fries came back overdone. It would seem that they were left under the warmer too long. Appetizers came after the entrees. Surprising as I have visited Cindy's many times in the past.
This is my fourth time eating at Cindy's. It's always a positive experience. Wonderful food and excellent service. I highly recommend Cindy's for dining in St. Helena.
Excellent service. They went out of their way to help me with my wife’s birthday. The food was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
For the last 7 years I’ve been going to Cindy’s for lunch on my bday. It’s my tradition. Love the ambience of the crisp white table linens, colorful rainbow of crackled water glass, light steaming thru the windows, window boxes filled with plants & flowers, beautiful art work, great food and service. And, of course, seeing Cindy! Love it!
Enjoyed lunch here. Creative small plates. Nice main meals. Service could be improved. Needed to remind staff of items such as bread. It was not busy so don’t know the issue. Restaurant was quiet allowing conversation.
Anniversary dinner...Everything’s by was great especially the Pollo Loco, key lime pie and Margaritas
First time here. We visit their sister restaurant, Mustard's, every time we come to Napa, so we decided to give it a try. Everything was delicious. Our group had a variety of items...fresh fish, meat loaf, duck burger, and pollo loco. Every one was happy with their choices. We will definitely be back to visit in the future.
My only complaint about this restaurant is the choice of music and the level of noise sometimes. I don't care for loud rock anywhere and it seems particularly odd for this restaurant. I'd rather have no music at all than loud hip hop.
Great service, good recommendations - will be coming back!!
Easter. We have had dinner or brunch many times. Food was really great but the waiter lacked sleep or wasn’t interested. It made for a less than special event.
We each had the Easter ham.
Excellent food and good service make this another star restaurant in Napa Valley. If staying in St. Helena, then you should have this on your list of dinner spots.
Excellent food and service
Loved all the food and had great service!
Silvia was incredible! very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was impecable and fresh like always!
Some of the worst food I've had in uears!
Cindy's never ceases to please. This is a fantastic, solid restaurant--perfect mid-day meal during a day of wine tasting!
Wow I've been here 15 times or more but this meal by far was the best! Oyster ..to die for as always, Ceasar, the best in the valley as always, in the past sometimes the duck has been overcooked. This time I had the Hanger steak. Oh my gawd so good like butter. But that bourbon potde creme with the creme fraiche whipped cream I'm still thinking about it. We also had the best most brightest rainbow ever seen . The whole restaurant was taking pictures and we were all standing up in the back room at one time. I wish I would have gotten my waitresses name she was fabulous, tall pretty blonde.hopefully you can look it up so you can tell her great job. Even busboys bread guys were good. Ty best time so far. Ps always have the Mojito even when it's winter ( Soo good)
Doing a wine tasting trip in the area while celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Cindy’s was an excellent choice for the event. I would love to try everything o the menu. Meatloaf was perfect comfort food for a raining cool evening.
met an old friend for lunch, hadn't seen her in nearly 20 years. We were seated exactly per our reservation time. I hadn't been to Cindy's for quite some time, but it was just as friendly & comforting as I had remembered. The food was still excellent, the service beyond what you would expect. The total bill for our lunch was just short of $90.00 (appetizer, main dish & wine). We were so impressed with the meal and our waitress, we left a $40.00 tip. We spent nearly 3 hours sitting, talking, remembering, and not once did they ask us to leave. It was a perfect afternoon and a memory I will not soon forget.
Out of all of our years going to Napa this was probably one of the worst meals we have ever experienced. We were celebrating two birthdays for my wife and her brother (67 & 66). First off even with reservations our very young hostess sat us at a table in the bar area. Out of the number of times we have eaten at Cindy's this was the first time to not be in the dining room. It wasn't because there wasn't sitting in there, this is where she chose to put us, so we went with the flow. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! Our waiter was nice but not very attentive, spending most of his time standing behind the bar talking to the bartender. The bartender was the real reason for our horrible evening. The entire dinner he spent either yelling and jousting with the customers at the bar and no one in the room could talk over him or hear their own conversations. When I turned around once to see who it was talking so loud (I thought mistakingly it was customers at the bar) he glared at me and then made inappropriate gestures to my wife who was facing him. At the end of the meal, I don't know if he was trying to make amends, he came over to our table and started doing card-magic tricks. My brother-in-law, who had never eaten at Cindy's before said he would never go back. We have eaten there many times, taking friends and family, but I do not know if we would ever go back either. The food was just ok, nothing special, this time as well. Cindy's used to be the go-to place but that has certainly changed. Management definitely needs to look at this problem and put someone older and more responsible at the check-in desk and correct this kind of "customer-driving away" behavior or make the sitting around the bar area strictly for someone looking for that kind of atmosphere, not someone who is paying for an expensive meal at a restaurant looking for good food, nice atmosphere and good service. Definitely a big waste of our money and evening!!!!!
As always I had a great dining experience at Cindy’s. My friends were visiting from out of town and we stopped by for lunch after our wine tastings nearby. Excellent food and selections of wine. The place was packed but the service didn’t miss a beat.
Love this place bartender was fabulous and the food is always fantastic!
Delicious food marred by mediocre service. This is the third time we've had so-so service at Cindy's. The food was delicious, the room comfortable and the cocktails were yummy. But the server was lazy, didn't bother describing the specials fully, didn't check to see if we wanted to order more cocktails or wine. It's too bad that while he spent so much time leaning against the wall opposite our table instead of working. Service makes a difference and a good manager should have seen that our section wasn't properly covered.
Have eaten here often and never been disappointed. This time for dessert I ordered the " campfire" pie. Delicious, but really too big for 1 person to finish - better for 2 to share. Also, if you have not been there before: in the dining room the tables are very close together. ( the friend I went with had not been there before and was a little bothered that it was almost "communal" seating.) If you and your party want more privacy, ask for a booth when booking.
One of my most favorite places to eat in the Napa Valley!!
A very nice dining experience! Will definitely go back again.
We were at Cindy's a decade ago and it's maintained itself for quality, flavor, ambiance, service, etc. after all that time. I love the cookbook and I've been cooking those recipes for years and it's amazing how well her food delivers on freshness and flavor. The bread is made exclusive for her from Model Bakery across the street; the sauces and farm to table ingredients are all made in house; the meats are grass fed, sustainable, and beautiful in flavor; the dishes are simple but focused on ingredients: if you order, say, an asparagus dish for $7.50 and it's just asparagus with some toasted breadcrumbs on it, expect the freshest and most perfectly grilled asparagus imaginable smoked over a hearth, crunchy/toasty breadcrumbs with fresh parmesan. You taste every flavor and texture asparagus has to offer and you feel like you've "seen the light" on what it's supposed to taste like. It's an homage to food dining at her restaurant and I love the small plates, the value, the quality, and the enthusiasm everyone there seems to feel and share. Not the lame food scene and name dropping of Yountville. Instead, a discreet and "real" restaurant that feels like you're in Cindy's home with real food and real people. Love it!
I have been coming here for the past 3 years and never in my time of visiting have I received such horrible service. My boyfriend and I decided to make a visit to Cindys as it was our all time favorite place to visit for lunch. The adult grilled cheese was my absolute favorite and with my bf having his heart on that yummy meatloaf, it was a must. As soon as we sat down, the server came up to us and asked what we wanted for drinks. I saw they changed root beers so I figured, why not try something new? That's when things took a turn for the worst. Our server realized that we weren't purchasing any alcohol so he decided to take his time on our order. The people who were sitting next to us were getting their orders before we did. And there was no bread offered. There was another guy helping out...you can say he was a supervisor or manager of some sort because he was wearing a suit. I asked that guy if he could bring us some bread. 10 minutes go by and nothing. Perhaps he forgot to mention it to the server or the server completely forgot. Either way, I waited for the server to stop by again for a second attempt of asking for bread. Still nothing. Our food finally came, and we still haven't received any bread. I finally get a moment with our server and asked if he can bring us some warm bread for the 3rd time. He said he would get us some bread again but I knew it wasn't going to happen. We decided to eat our food without the bread and it still turned out to be delicious. The server cleared our plates and asked if there was anything else we needed with no acknowledgement whatsoever on the bread. I asked for the check and he threw it on the table. We paid for the food that was given to us then got up and left. I have to say that the food here has always lived up to my expectations but service has dropped significantly.
We had a reservation and were seated in the bar area. It was kind of chilly so I wore my coat throughout the meal. Service was fine but we felt rushed. This visit didn’t really live up to past meals here.
I'm sorry this turned out to be a negative review because the setting looked very inviting. My wife ordered the soup of the day which came to her so spicy that tears came to her eyes. No warning from the waitress and no alternative was offered. The bread was very dry and over done. Maybe next time things will be different.
Well crafted beautifully spiced, not salty high-end Mexican based meals. Many gluten free options. The wine selection was also outstanding. One of the top restaurants in St Helena. Just next to Tera.
We had the Asian sizzling rice dish which was outstanding. We also had the meatloaf which was humdrum and came out of the kitchen lukewarm. I would not order the meatloaf again even though it must be popular since it's been on the menu a long time.
Excellent as usual!
Fantastic Valentunes Day lunch
Will be returning again!!! Recommending to everyone.
