Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Impeccable service, and lovely varied menu with fresh and vibrant ingredients, to suit all tastes (vegetarian through meat lovers and healthy through comfort). The menu is the same for lunch and dinner - which is a bonus, if you fancy trying a couple of different items on the menue over a holiday or long weekend. We had dinner and then squeezed in a delightful 1 course lunch in the garden pre a wine tasting.
My husband and I visited Cindy's for the first time for a Sunday lunch and it exceeded our expectations. Service was a bit slow and I wished for more frequent coffee refills but the food was fantastic and servers aimed to please. We look forward to coming back!
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, the waiters were all very friendly, however, the food was nothing special. I expected better tasting food. My sister ordered the duck and she felt it was not cooked as it should be. Their campfire pie dessert was good though! I would come again just for dessert, but not their meals.
Loved Cindy's backstreet! Amazing wine selection, excellent service and we all loved what we ordered. We are all vegans and wished there were more vegetarian/vegan options because there were only like two items on the menu that qualified but other than that would definitely go back!
The food is truly exceptional. You hear a lot about Napa Valley Restaurants--but we've had mixed experiences at some of the big names. This place really over-delivers. Charming room, exceptional and inventive food, ang solid service. Employees at two different wineries recommended Cindy's. Awesome dinner.
We considered other restaurants before deciding to come back to Cindy's; we've been several times before and evaluated the thrill/risk of going somewhere new to celebrate a birthday with the knowledge that Cindy's was tried and true and never disappointed.
Our server Alex got our attention right away by calling us ladies versus guys - off to an excellent start. He was attentive not intrusive and we felt in very good hands. The food was over-the-top delicious - every bite was savored. And, then dessert with the chocolate creme brulée sent us over the top. The ambiance is always elegant and comfortable. We'll be back!
Lunch for our party of 10 (which included kids) was fantastic! The service, atmosphere and especially the food was exceptional. We always try and do lunchtime when we have kids with us and we were all pleasantly surprised at having a wonderful menu for them as well. We were there for 2 and 1/2 hours eating several courses and just enjoying the company. We took recommendations from the staff and couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you CBK for your hospitality! We will absolutely be back in the near future.
We had such a good time here. Every person we were in contact with at this restaurant was authentically pleasant and a joy to be around. We were late for our reservation, but was able to take a seat at the well-appointed bar for lunch. Jason, the bartender, was not only very knowledgeable about the cocktails, wine, and beer, of course, but also about the the entire menu. We ordered the Oyster Bingo, Mushroom Toast with Duck Paté, (actually ordered this twice because it was so good), and the Grilled Peaches with Creamy Burrata. All were very well made and very tasty. As a couple of foodies from out of town, intent on eating our way through St. Helena, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and people at Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen.
the food was on a par with Mustard's restaurant. SErvice impeccable. wine selection very good. The mussels from Hog Island were the best we have ever had the sauce not overpowering but complementary.
The Rabbit salad was also excellent
WE look forward to returning
While my wife and I have been to St. Helena many times previously and have known about this restaurant, unfortunately (for us!), we have never eaten here. Well, that mistake was corrected on our recent trip to the wine country. This place is deceiving from the outside, but it's really quite nice inside. The menu is very interesting and deciding on exactly what to order might be the biggest problem you'll encounter here. What we ate was wonderful, but we saw numerous other menu items being served to other guests that we would definitely like to sample in the future. The service was great and highly competent, but we were not rushed in the least. Our next trip will absolutely include enjoying a meal at this somewhat hidden gem in the Napa Valley.
Cindy consistently provides amazing tasting food with a flair. Feel like a tostada? How about rabbit instead of chicken. Creative dishes for those who a little more adventurous, but there is somethimg for everyone (spare ribs, meatloaf, fish and chips). Charming place, bright and cheery with awesome service.
Introducing old friends to new friends, Cindy's is the perfect place to find just the wine and food that meets everyone's needs and special desires. We lingered 2 hours at lunch and shared plates and 2 bottles of wine! Everything was yummy, from duck burger to pasta, grilled peaches to avocado and papaya salad, and the plates were licked clean.
The food is outstanding as would be expected from Cindy. It was fresh, creative, and delicious. The service was also excellent, friendly, and helpful. The dining room was noisy with two loud parties, one on a cell phone using a lot of profanity (not the restaurant's fault) and there was an uncomfortable number of flies inside the dining room - gross. This is not something I would have expected from a fine dining restaurant.
