Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Location is perfect if you are doing either shopping in downtown St Helena or hitting one of the wine tasting rooms.
Bartender George greeted us and made us feel at home before our reservation. Our server was enthusiastic and described everything beautifully.
Place was packed but we were never made to feel rushed. Nice simple food well prepared. I would definitely recommend!
caesar salad delicious and plentiful, pollo loco good, chicken was a little undercooked in parts, but otherwise tasty, the stuffed pepper w/cheese, that came with it, was way too spicy to eat. asked how hot pepper was, was told mild, with 1-10 10 being hottest it was a 6. fresh fish of the day petrale sole, out of this world delicious. duck burger A+
ordered mushroom toast appetizer, they forgot about it and then when we mentioned while dinner was being served that we never received it, they then brought it out when dinner plates were being cleared. so we declined. waiter never apologized for forgetting an item he recommended. Campfire dessert was good. great food. kids meals chicken tenders were great. fresh chicken tenders homemade kind. will be back again food was top notch
I was so excited to check this place out with my husband! The space is beautiful, and the service was great but the food was just ok. My entree the fish and chips, was so soggy that I was only able to eat a couple bites. The restaurant was pretty busy and by the time a server came back to check on us, my husband was almost finished with his meal and didn't know if it was worth saying anything at that point. I had such high hopes for this place but unfortunately left a little disappointed.
I had to ask for a menu to start. waiter was not knowledgeable of menu. The ceasar salad was loaded with way too much dressing. Dressing tasted bland. We ordered the dinner scallops. The puree of potatoes was dry. The califower was not cooked at all. The scallops were tasteless. It was like lukewarm. The vegetables of the evening we're dry. Oh sooooo dry and tuff. Chewy. Then after dinner waiter brought a candle on plate. My sister birthday. Nothing with the candle!! We were sooooo disappointed in the food.
My husband and I along with another couple truly enjoyed Cindy’s. I had the haddock special which was very nicely prepared and juicy. My friend got the meatloaf which was a surprise but Alison extremely great. She took home the lemon mousse dessert and it was heavenly. We have been to the restaurant before and it did not disappoint!
Owned by the same person as Mustards, this place is a "hidden gem" that you enter from a side street that parallels the main drag. I say hidden, because everyone knows where it is. Reservations are a must. The food was great. We went as two couples and shared several plates. The food was excellent and the service was very good.
