“Some foods taste so much more complex when cooked on a wood fire,” Craft says. “Grilling is a universal technique so the menu reflects many different cultures but the food will be heavily influenced by the grilling mecca of South America.”
Craft’s focus on simple foods with bold flavors is highlighted throughout the menu and includes several steak selections and rotating grilled items. From grilled pickles to grilled lamb ribs in soy, lime and garlic with a mango-honey glaze, dishes feature enticing techniques and flavors.

Yup. I would fly to St. Louis for the feijoada. Pretty much all there is to say.
Delicious food! Great service! Beautiful view!
Absolutely delicious food. From the salad to the meat...just wonderful.
Great food and great service. Ordered the lamb appetizer, followed by feijoada and trout. Servings are large. Had an excellent Chilean red recommended by the server. Finished off with delicious sorbet and mousse.
No complaints. Will definitely recommend and come again. Btw, the sourdough bread was also excellent.
Excellent bread! Excellent food! Excellent view! Excellent service!
My husband and I were in St. Louis and guests at the Four Seasons for a long weekend. We had lunch/dinner at other restaurants and thought the food was very good. One night we decided to have dinner at the Hotel's Cinder House and were both very disappointed. To start my husband ordered 3 different bottles of wine because they did not have the vintage offered. In the end we opted for a suggested wine and it was good but not what we would've chosen but worth the offer of a discount for the inconvenience. The wait staff were exceptional! The 2 different salads sounded good but were wilted and lacking taste. He had ribeye and I had the Lamb chops. Both were okay but not worth the price. If you want a spectacular view but mediocre food, then The Cinder House it is! Regardless of the convenience, we both agreed another time to enjoy the view with drinks and some appetizers instead.
This has to be the noisiest restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Not a little noisy, over the top to the point we had to lean in at a table of four to even hear each other. The restaurant backs up to the bar, which is really loud and we actually sat at the table that was furthest from the bar.
The food was good, not great. On a positive note the salads were huge, easily spilttable if you'd like. Three out of four had the piri piri chicken - very good and very spicy. I had the feijoada which was very fatty; the flavor itself was very good.
Drinks, $21.00 for a martini - no special vodka or anything just Grey Goose.
The net is we are fortunate in STL to have many great restaurants (including others from Gerard Craft); I would put this one way down the list of places to go.
My husband and I made a trip to Cinder House for a special night out. The bar was busy that night (more about that in a moment). It took forever to get our first cocktail after ordering. The food, generally speaking, was good. We started with Coxinha. Delicious. We both had gem salads. The dressing was quite good, making this a very enjoyable dish. The bread service arrived late, but I’m glad we eventually got some; the bread had. Delicious, crunchy crust and a soft, airy interior. I wanted to try something different so I ordered the Feijaoda. It is billed as various cuts of pork, braised beef, with black beans, rice, kale, chimichurri and orange. Most of the pork in my serving was inedible, either all fat or ribs so tough that I couldn’t separate the meat from the bone. The brisket was passably good. The oranges were delicious. All in all, I wouldn’t order this dish again. My husband ordered a filet, which was very good. The accompanying sauces made this menu standard a little more special. There was a group of 20 somethings in the bar. They were obnoxiously loud. So much so that the assistant manager, Matt, came over to our table to share that he had warned the group to tone it down or they would be asked to leave. We appreciated that. Matt also noted that my husband had used all of the Hollandaise that came with his steak and brought out another serving. Nice touch. I’d give Cinder House a 5 out of 10.
Food was excellent. Very noisy but has a sort of hip nightlife/club vibe. Beautiful view of downtown/arch/river. Wine service is not what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Excellent! The food was beyond great and the service was outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about the experience.
The appetizer like hush puppies we're horrible and tasted like frozen food but our meals were very good
Our experience at Cinder House was nothing but exceptional.
My girlfriend and her daughter are Brazilian. Agreed that it was not only authentic but exceptional.
The feijoada was amazing and the seafood stew was as delightful. She said the Caipirinha was as good as she had had in Brazil.
Dessert was also Amazing!!
We will return soon.
Good food variety, friendly staff. Whole fish great idea just little over cooked
Everything was just okay.
Cinder House is out of this world! A true grand slam, out of the park experience. The food, service, venue and view are all superb. Cinder House is my new #1 go to restaurant in STL!
We had a fantastic night out on a double date at Cinder House. The restaurant was beautiful, and the view was gorgeous. Paul, the manager, was exceptional as was our server Dallas.
Fantastic service, great food. Beautiful view. Definitely will return.
3rd time visiting Cinder House and another fantastic meal.
Great steaks. Expensive but worth it. The side dishes are all very tasty.
This was our 2nd time at the Cinder House Sunday Brunch Buffet.
Unfortunately, Bunch Buffets are few and far between in today's world the victims of declining public interest and because of the high costs of putting one on. We are so happy to have this option available.
Everything was 1st class. Every item was delicious and flavorful. Although the variety is not nearly as great as the buffets of the past we understand the need to limit the costs of waste and with the quality of the offerings so great we highly recommend this for your next Sunday outing.j
We will continue to be back on a regular basis.
Amazing dining experience. Thanks to Casey, Matt and Chef Fricker for introducing us to their incredible South American inspired menu in such a beautiful space.
I was not impressed by the quality and taste of food. I had the Valentine’s Day 3 course meal. Best part was the chocolate cake. Filet was unimpressive and tasted like sawdust. Oysters were bleh. Lamb ribs were good however. Server was excellent.
Absolutely will be back! A romantic restaurant with beautiful views of the pool outside and the trees has lights on them. The food and service were excellent.
Valentine's Day with wife. Seated on time in a quiet section. Good service brought great food. We would come back.
Our whole experience at Cinderhouse was great from beginning to end. The only recommendation I may give is more signage on the outside of the four seasons/casino. It was a little tough to find. But we were bound and determined and I’m SO glad we had this experience.
Fabulous food, subtle and complex flavors in a great menu from which to choose. It is possible to do a wonderful dinner with the appetizers salads and side dishes as we did. The prices are quite reasonable for such high-quality food. The service was also excellent. We should also note that the decor of this restaurant, with its view of the arch, is just magnificent.
This was awful. The grilled oysters were small and tasteless. The scallops were salty and cold on a hot plate. Never offered a drink refill or coffee with dessert. The brittle accompanying dessert was inedible.
The ambiance and view are hard to match. Food was good, we had yuca and huancaina, steak with hollandaise, chimichurri and mole, caviar and scallops. Our thoughtful and engaging waiter was a highlight of the meal. Overall wonderful night!
The restaurant is so beautiful. That bar is amazing. The food is just as good. I had the Piri Piri sandwich and it was delicious. The pepper sauce has some heat and is delicious. My husband had the lobster roll, which he loved. The lobster was cooked perfectly. I can’t wait to return for dinner.
Dinner was overall excellent. April, my waitress, gave thoughtful recommendations and exceptional service. Traveling and eating alone, her level of service was noticed and appreciated.
I started my meal with the Little Gem salad, which had the perfect amount of dressing and complementary variety of flavors and textures. The trout special was absolutely delicious, once again mixing flavors and textures that satisfied. Finally, I ended the meal with the chocolate coconut tres leches desert. I’m not a huge coconut fan, but this hit the spot and was the perfect amount of sweet.
This was our second visit and again it did not disappoint. Very nice crowd on the night before Valentines Day. We tried the same apps, the cheese bread and the coaxhina which was beef instead of the chicken from our first visit. Concur with our excellent waiter’s assessment, it was even better.
Even though the bar was packed, our drinks came out quickly. Great Manhattans.
Seafood stew was fabulous as was the churro ice cream sandwich for dessert but the other pleasant surprise was the sides.
Polenta was delicious and I never thought black beans and rice could be elevated the way they are here.
Best overall meal I have had in the past year! BRAVO!!!! AMAZING flavor!!
Don't mis having.... the entire menu!! Love Pri Pri chicken, all the grilled meats and the rib appetizer is amazing!! BEST POLENTA EVER!!
I loved it . It was my birthday . The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. I was surprised with a Birthday dessert that was fabulous
We celebrated our 3 year anniversary here. Amazing food and a great atmosphere and our server was amazing we loved her. She did an amazing job of describing the food. Can't wait to go back when it gets warmer to sit on the deck.
The only thing we had a problem with is one of servers inappropriate behavior with the bartender. But overall it was a really good experience.
Cinder House made our date night extra romantic!
Gorgeous space. Our server was flat and not particularly positive or helpful. The food was just ok. Food came out unevenly and not always hot. We had to press our server for dessert and after dinner drink options. A cool place but it lacked the service and food quality of most G Craft restaurants.
Absolutely loved Cinder House! We especially enjoyed the new side dish - the creamed corn. It was the best creamed corn I have ever had and we joked that we needed to come back weekly just for the corn. Enjoyed the onion dip, Dia's bread, lamb chops and prime steak, flan and sorbet. Wonderful service, great food. Don't skip the corn!
The food was ‘meh.’ The short rib was merely a tough skirt steak.
Lovely view of the arch.
Incredibly delicious. Service was wonderful with large staff that is prompt at your table, but not overbearing and allow you to enjoy the company at your meal. Fantastic food, and views.
Really good food! Service was great!
