Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila – Old Town Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately it was not a great experience. The restaurant was packed that night, which I understand is unusual. The service staff was extremely apologetic, and the gesture of discounting the bill was most appreciated.
The service was quite slow, it took forever to get waited on and even longer to get our food. Food is quite spicy, some of those in our party loved that.
I would probably try this restaurant again, but maybe for lunch or sometime less crowded.
It was a cute and fun Mexican restaurant. Overall the food and service was good. We had one issue and that was with the fajitas, which were incredibly spicy and so inedible. I don't eat spicy food so fajitas are my go to meal at a Mexican restaurant unclear what happened here.
we read that the restaurant was rated as a top 10 Mexican Restaurant (by USA Today) and are not sure how this is possible. I assumed that was a national rating but even if it were local I could not see this place cracking the top 20 in Phoenix, let along top 10 nationally. It was just OK, not what we expected based on the advertisement of a USA today top 10 rated restaurant.
I had made a reservation in a little in advance to when we were going to eat. The only table they had was either outside or upstairs. Since I have walking problems, we ate outside. It was like we were eating in an alley. Chairs were horrible, waiter was not much better, people were smoking, margarita tasted like water, and food was basically horrible too. And the price to good food ratio was way too high. Definitely don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. And, we obviously, won't be back.
Very nice southwest style bar. There is some seating for dinner, but this is not really what I would call a dining experience. It's a bar with some tables. Variety of interesting and good margaritas. Food was very good. We went to dinner after a day of golf ready to have some drinks. It was surprisingly loud. This is one of those places that depends completely on what you're expecting and what you want. It was a little loud for us, but the food was surprisingly good. After walking in the place, I thought we were going to get standard chain restaurant Tex-Mex. We probably will not go back just because there are so many other options in the area. If this place was near my house in the Midwest, I would be there every Friday.
Tacos and service were great. Table was horrible. We we're upstairs around a corner. Ambiance felt more like a Denny's. Margarita tasted like they were premaid and not fresh as described. Rice was dry and burnt. Just ok. I expected better. Maybe an off day??
The food was very good and the margaritas were great. But the ambience was awful due to the noise level being outrageous!! We were literally yelling at each other across the table -it was uncomfortably, painfully loud. Granted we went on a Saturday night but I sure hope they can do something about the acoustics in that place. I would not go back.
