    I’m sorry to leave this review, because I have been looking forward to coming to Cielo for a long time. It was our first time, and most likely will be our last. Our server was Grace, and I don’t think what was happening was necessarily her fault. EVERYTHING came to our table extremely slowly, starting with our drinks. At least 30 minutes went by before we got our salads, after our appetizer. Bread was brought to our table WITH the appetizer, instead of upon being seated or prior to our order being taken. We spent nearly two hours at our dining experience, and over $160 (with tip included). For that money, I expected a much better experience. :/

    Went to meet some old friends coming from out of town, stopped in here randomly for some of the best food and drink. No rush to turn the table. The food was amazing as were the drinks. Definitely recommend

    The reservation was very easy to book and Cielo was understanding of the dietary and allegory restrictions. The food was properly priced but the pizzas were on the drier side and needed more sauce. The drinks were spot on and our waitress was absolutely lovely.

    My dish (gnocchi with pumpkin white sauce) was divine but my boyfriends seafood pasta was average- not much flavor. Our server (I can’t remember her name) and the experience otherwise was wonderful. We visited the rooftop bar beforehand - very nice and great drinks! Cielo is a great addition to Atascadero!!

    I had their spaghetti and meatballs; first, the pasta was overcooked and not enough pasta for the six meatballs. The pasta sauce had no good seasoning, very bland. The dish was very dry and the server did not offer and parmesan cheese. My partner had the Margarita pizza which also had very poor seasoning, and the crust had the texture of old hard bread. The server took too long when asked for parmesan cheese and a side of sauce for the pasta. She was trying too hard to be nice which we found most annoying We had previously had lunch there twice before and enjoyed the food, so we thought there are other items on the menu we would like to try for dinner. The first time we had the Fig pizza and the Calabrese pizza. The second lunch Butternut squash Tortellini and the Short Rib Trombe, both of these lunch meals were pretty good, well seasoned and paired nicely with the bottle of red wine (Cinsaut). Our server both times for lunch gave good service and this and the two lunches is why we wanted to try dinner One odd thing about lunch to dinner, Cielo charges $5 for bread at lunch but not for dinner. It is uncertain if we will return again for lunch, we might wait a while, however there are very few options for dinning out. We are very busy and eat out 99% of the time, so for us when we have a meal it plays a very important part in our day to relax and unwind from working. We like to take our time to enjoy a well prepared meal accompanied with a very good wine. After we generally like to share a dessert with a double cappuccino. Duane

    We had a party of 7 and everyone was impressed with the food and service. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating and our waitress was outstanding. Cielo has become our favorite restaurant, it's consistently good.

    The first time I went to Cielo for lunch I had the Fettucccini Alfredo with chicken. Scrumptious! This time I had the Fettuccini with Clams in wine broth and my friend had the fig pizza. Both were a disappointment. The F. Broth was so peppery that it was difficult to eat. The fig pizza was boring and not much on it. I will try it again, this time for dinner, but then thats it. Keep my fingers crossed!

    Group of 9, celebrating a birthday. 5pm reservations, entrees took a very long time to arrive, we left at 730, we did not order appetizers or dessert, seemed odd to take so long and not much conversation from the waitress. One person ordered the ribeye med rare it was well done. Ceasar was great, good cocktails. Noise level is quite loud with the acoustics. Great ambiance but honestly not the best dining experience. Gnocchi seemed overcooked.

    We had an early reservation 5:30 when seated we asked to be moved to an open booth instead of the table for two in the back of the restaurant. There were 3 open booth and 3 booths with 2 people in them. They told us that the open booths were for party of 4’s. They were open the entire time during our meal and were never seated. Someone needs to learn how to manage tables better. Service was very good and so was our food. Would have enjoyed it more from a better seat.

    Chic dining room and bar, we had a great server, the calamari had good flavor, enjoyed the bruschetta (a different take - more like a salad) and really enjoyed the nightly fish special, sea bass!

    The Osso Bucco was excellent, served with the creamy polenta was perfect. We also had the Bruschetta appetizer, and enjoyed it. It's a deconstructed Bruschetta, and the tomato cheese side with shallot pesto balsamic reduction was like a salad served with bread. The olive oil balsamic parmesan dipping sauce was perfection. The location and ambiance are very nice. That part of the street around the Carlton Hotel is really maturing and developing into a foodie destination.

    We had another delicious dinner at Cielo. Went for happy hour at 4:00 then dinner at 5. Had the special and Caesar Salad. The bread they bring you is so good. They make it there. Then we went up to the rooftop for after dinner drinks. I had Leonardo PiStachio so good! My husband had the Spicy Avorita. Also very good! We definitely will be back. Juan( the bartender is awesome! All the staff are so attentive!

    Cielo is a nice place in Atascadero with good food. I just wish the portions were larger and the prices lower. Quite expensive for what you get.

    Our first visit to Atascadero, staying at The Carlton Hotel, it was delightful to walk a block to Cielo and enjoy a great dinner. Charming service, generous portions, good cooking, nice presentation. We had the fish special and the chicken with fettuccine, and shared the lemon cake with raspberry sorbet, both excellent.

    This was our first visit. I was excited to try their Carpaccio. I was so bummed they did not serve it with Crostini's. The horrible horse radish ruined the taste of the meat. We scrapped off what we could, but still made the meat bitter. They need to visit Flemings in Palo Alto. They serve the best Carpaccio. I was also excited to have pasta with Bolognese sauce. Tasted so bland. These chefs need to go to Maurizio's in Morgan Hill. All his sauces are amazing!! Never a dull plate there. The roof top bar is okay. I know Atascadero is a small town, but so is Carmel. Vesuvio's is the best roof top bar and it is also small, but so nice and always a small band playing music. Maybe Cielo's needs music? And the plastic wine glasses. Feels like I am drinking out of a sippy cup. Rose Wine, was not the best either. They need to serve Tooth & Nail Rose. That is a spot on Rose!! While waiting to order, we had to flag a waitress down. The girl who got us water, was quick to attend to us. But our waitress...took her sweet time and stood around chatting to co-workers. The cost was too high for a small town. Plus the food was not worth the price. These chefs need to take make changes. Visit a few Italian Rest. Sample their spice levels and see how your food is so bland, its like they dumped out a can of Chef Boyardee.

    Complimentery oil and bread, Pizza and velvet cake is really only items that we would recommend. Rib Eye too much fat around edges. Gnocchi like balls of dough. We will give them another try !
