CIE Sichuan Cuisine
For too long, I have complained about the dearth of decent Chinese restaurants in the Coachella Valley.
I have found CIE, and find all that they cook and serve to be delicious and authentic.
My wife and I went in for an afternoon date. The place is amazing, from food to the friendliest staff. If you want real Chinese this is it.
Great authentic Sichuan food. As good as you will find in ChongQing!
Great food at a very reasonable price
The food at this restaurant is amazing! Take a look at the menu and you can have anything you want. My favorite is Shrimp and Celery. It is very "savory". Everything we have had there is great!
Schezwan comfort cuisine in downtown Indio. Surprise, Surprise Surprise!! Seven of us ordered like twelve various dishes and appetizers and all were tasty, spicy and authenticity of Northern China style. This restaurant has a very capable chef and even though our waitress, wife of the owner, did not speak English, it was a truly great experience!! Please support this family joint in the desert!
Good food, well prepared. Service was a lit tle slow.
This was a return visit having had lunch once before. Dinner options were plentiful and unique. We ordered beef chow fun noddle dish, lamb and vegetable as well as Chinese lettuce. Wonderful combination and great flavors. Sherry, owner, was very polite and friendly. We have added this restaurant as a must go to,place when we’re in the desert.
Food seemed to be reheated and smaller servings. I would bet 2 items were from lunch as the colors were much darker and less tasty. We eat chinese a lot. One of my guest wife is chinese.... I did not get a happy face on this place.
Food was a little cold however it was very cold sitting by the door. Nice and clean, friendly. Lot's of local people.
Average food. More thick large jalapeno slices than meat. Garlic spicy chicken had more potatoes than chicken.
Disappointed! Did not enjoy our Szechuan chicken dish-weird spice and it had potatoes in it!Green onion cakes tasteless. Pork dumplings good. Rice dried out.
Super clean restaurant. Nice staff.
This place never disappoints. They have an awesome lunch menu. They’re located close to the courthouse. They have an amazing menu filled with many choices. The owner always prepares a new vegetable plate for us to try every time we have been there. I love their spicy Wonton soup, the wontons are so fresh!
We’ve been looking for a great Chinese restaurant in the Valley for years now. Today, we found one that checks all the boxes! Immaculately clean, welcoming, atmosphere. Warm, friendly staff. Incredible diverse menu with Sichuan influence and a full selection of Dim Sum, our only challenge was what to order. So we let our brilliant server Laura along with one of the owners help us with our choices. This visit, we enjoyed the scallion pancake, pork dumplings, garlic eggplant, sweet potato greens, and stir fried lamb. Each dish was clearly home made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Nothing was oily or fatty, and you could taste the passion in each course. Service and cuisine exceeded expectations. Great value too! We can’t wait to come back.
Fantastic meal and a great value!
This restaurant was a "gem" to find. It is an understated restaurant on a small street in Old Town Indio. It has some of the Best Chinese food we have ever had. Very authentic cuisine!
Excellent, unique Chinese cuisine
Very authentic cuisine. The eggplant dishes are stand outs.
Been searching for good authentic szechuan food in the valley and we finally found it. Will definitely go back.
Authentic Chinese, food and decor. With tradition huge menu covering every protein, including sime exotics, a variety of vegetables, appetizers, cold dishes, soups and deserts. Full bar, including some touristy cocktails.
Fun 1970s (US) nostalgia, or current Mainland (non-tourist) experience.
This restaurant had good first impressions, clean, pretty, unique menu all photos. What turned us off? One beef dish was order very mild spice. Instead it came with lots of hot red pepper slices complete with seeds. Yikes! We could not tolerate it. We ask the waiter to take it away and we ordered something else. He claimed he ordered it "medium", still not what we asked for. the waiter did not make an adjustment on the bill, ignored our request for an adjustment for their mistake. Really bad way to treat a new customer. We won't be back
Service deplorable table had three chairs for a party of 6. No set ups on table. Food mediocre at best. Won ton soup tasted like someone spilled a jar of pepper into it. Only decent thing was pot stickers and steamed buns.
Overpriced and overrated to say the least
Horrible food, poor service but it was Xmas.
Great food, service.
Food was lovely. Would rather they not bring it all at once. We should have requested. It was Christmas Day and a lovely experience. Will go back.
I don't understand how things can change for the worse so quickly. We were here a couple of weeks ago and had great service and excellent food. This visit the service was appalling and the food wasn't much better. They seemed very short staffed, it tooks 30 minutes to get a drink after sitting down. Surprisingly, the food seemed a bit bland compared to our last visit. So disappointed, I thought we had found our new goto chinese restaurant.
The most authentic Chinese food in the Coachella valley. It is not a motel for pandas. Delicious.
This is the best Chinese food I've had since leaving San Francisco. Huge menu. Very friendly service. We can't wait to go back.
Very so-so, in spite of all the glowing reviews. Pricey for Chinese restaurant, much better value across the street at China Bistro.
Nice looking but overpriced for what you get. Rice & tea are extra and our chicken with noodles dish hardly contained any chicken. Service was poor: they rushed our drink order and no one came back to check on our order after our food was brought or refill our drinks - and not because they were too busy!
Was recommended this restaurant by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. We have had many average Chinese meals since moving to the US. This is definitely one of the best if not THE best we have had. There are some great vegetarian options as well as the traditional Chicken, pork and lamb options. The only negative was the ventilation in the restaurant. there’s was a strong smell of cooking throughout and our clothes smelt of fried food when we left
Some of the best Asian food I’ve eaten. All delicious. Potstickers are made from scratch and vegetable fried rice was excellent. Service a little slow but this is a small family owned restaurant and the food is worth it.
CIE Sichuan is the very best Chinese restaurant that we have found in the
Palm Desert area. This compares with our favorite restaurant in China Town
Fantastic menu, unexpectedly authentic recipes.
Outstanding lamb, tender highly flavorful, gently spiced.
Loved the shredded.taro, lotus, leek veggie dish.
While fish was perfect, very garlicky.
Restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Service was very friendly and accommodating
