Cibo Matto Ratings and Reviews
I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant, so I was really looking forward to it. I ordered the beet salad and there was enough dressing on it to dress at least another salad if not more. That was the tastiest part of the dinner, despite having too much dressing. I ordered the roasted chicken and while the skin was nice and crispy, the chicken itself was very dry. Will not go back.
Fabulous cocktail selection. We shared an order of crab cakes which were perfect. Then we shared the steak and cheese pizza, an interesting combination which was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and the server was charming and engaging. The restaurant was crowded and noisy but the food and drinks were so good that we didn’t care about the noise.
First visit and we are very impressed with the food and the hospitality. Great menu. My wife had shrimp and scallops with gnocchi. I had steak and cheese pizza. Both absolutely delicious
Andy was a great server. The restaurant was a little noisy but not uncomfortably so. We will be back soon
I've always come here and loved it! I recently brought 2 other couples with us and it was their first time coming after me raving about it. I did have a 6:45 reservation and for whatever reason they didn't seat us until 7:30 so I was a bit embarrassed that I highly recommended this place to our friends and they had to wait 45 min to sit down. The manager did acknowledge this and brought us 2 free apps which we appreciated, overall still a great place with great food and I will come back .
We were seated at a table that was pretty close to others. As another party was seated, the woman looked at me and said "these tables are too close for comfort". It was a bit awkward after that. I have dined here before and couldn't wait to come back. This time the food was off. I ordered the bolognese. The sauce had an overwhelming taste almost that it was burnt to the bottom of a pan. My husband ordered the meatballs and just said "definitely not the best- I think I ordered the wrong thing. The ceaser salad was kind of sad with maybe two croutons. Another table next to us was admiring an order that came out to another table saying the other dishes had so much more on them and their dinners lacked. I was pretty bummed out. It seems as though the kitchen may have had an off night. I was really hoping this would have been better since I traveled from Worcester to dine here. I don't think I'll make the trip again.
Food and service were outstanding. The chicken piccata is the best I've ever had. It was a Thursday night, very busy and we were seated at a hightop table between the people waiting at the bar and the waiting area so it was extremely loud. Would wait for a regular table next time, but will definitely go back!
We have been coming for years! I think maybe even since year one. My family has tried most of the menu and on occasion whatever specials that sounded good. Come to think of it, we have either not been for dinner in awhile or I don’t recall seeing a specials list??
In any case, we are regulars. We know the menu. We know how the plates should look, smell and taste. So this lady vidit was so disappointing! Our standard fried calamari was undercooked and some pieces not even floured well. They sat plainly with very little sauce only at the bottom almost nothing there. Just not right.
My son always, and I mean always gets the chicken Parmesan w homemade ziti. It usually has a large chicken breast on top of the pasta. This visit he got two tiny cutlets, half the size than our usual. I ordered the chicken w broccoli and ziti. This was delicious and as we have come to love.
What’s with the poor changes? Don’t start going downhill!! Please! We really love it there. Maybe it was a new chef? If so? Please train them to the standard that Cibo is known for!!
Not our first time there, but I was disappointed in my meal.....I got the roasted apple pizza that also included bacon, caramelized onions and a balsamic drizzle....I found it to be very bland, considering everything that was on it....But....you can't score every time so we will be back, no doubt
Not necessarily an ideal date night venue only because seating is close, but great place for meeting up with friends or family. Food is always good to great, service is great and attentive, prices are reasonable, draft beer an wine selections are broad and tasty. We always look forward to heading there for a meal.
My sister and I brought our dad here for his birthday. We went at lunch since he has a hard time hearing when very noisy so dinner would have been a problem. Our servicer was very attentive and nice. I didn't realize you had to choose from the dinner menu for lunch on Sunday but the portions were huge so we all had leftovers to bring home. The chicken piccata was delicious and the crème brulee with the little biscotti cookies was one of the best I've ever had. I was also thrilled now that summer is over that they keep the windows closed. We've had issues in the past when dining there at night swatting at flies and mosquitoes since they don't have screens in the windows. Cibo Matto is back on the fave list.
Overall the experience was not great. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with too many tables. Service was slow. My entree of chicken & broccoli was not good. It tasted like the broccoli wasn't dried properly so the cream sauce tasted like broccoli water. My husband enjoyed his linguine with clam sauce. The waitress took my flavorless dish off our bill and quite generously had the kitchen make me a pizza at no charge. I have had great lunches there. This was just not a good night.
I have had many wonderful meals at Cibo Matto's in the past. Tonight meal was just ok except for the perfect blueberry panna cotto and a reliable Pinot Noir (Meiomi).
I ordered the special, Roast Bass. The fish was served whole so it was necessary to debone it. I confess I need to brush up on my deboning because a dozen bones ended up in my mouth one at a time. The flesh of the bass was perfectly cooked and moist. I chose to remove the skin as it was kind of limp not crusty. I think pesto had been used to top it and I felt it did not compliment the couscous with spinach and cherry tomatoes. I was looking for low cal (yeah , I know, panna cotto is not low cal).
Service was great. This was the second time I was disappointed because I had been spoiled. The first time I asked if the chef had changed and was told "yes, but it's only temporary".
