Cibo Matto Ratings and Reviews
We always love coming here. Having said that they would benefit from fixing the fish smell that sometimes gets to be too strong and a few changes to the menu or more special would be a great addition. Having said that the restaurant is great, the people are always very nice and friendly and for local food it is amazing.
The staff servers are excellently trained but there just not enough. Our waitress knows what she was doing but everything took 10 min wait. Wait to to drink wait for water wait for when we were done wait to be asked for desert wait to get check. She was hustling but she needed help. Food excellent.
Food always very very good, but incredibly also always very noisy. Service really fell apart. Got wrong menu for specials, then waiter got one of two orders wrong. He returned both to the kitchen however, and the second time the other order was wrong! Have gone several times and will go back because of food, Interesting cocktails, good wine choices and despite so-so service.
It was New Year's Eve, the restaurant sat us right at our reservation time and the staff was wonderful, even considering the restaurant was filled to capacity. The food was as usual fantastic. I had a rack of lamb that was cooked to perfection. This is one of my favorite places and if you've never been, you really should drop by.
Always the best experience. Been going there for a considerable amount of time. Would recommend to anyone.
Only comment offered was that we came with our two grandchildren who were very well behaved. Felt the service was a little rushed. Coffee came before our drinks were done and deserts for the kids were not offered. We felt that we could have asked but did feel that it was best to get the kids home.
In retrospect, we should have made our concerns known to Waitress.
We keep returning as THE best restaurant within a reasonable driving distance for us. The shrimp and scallop tortellini entree is to die for...And the Brussels Sprouts Salad a favorite, along with the Arancini...so good! Great service always as well!! Kudos to the Chef!!
Another solid performance by Cibo Matto. Met a friend for a quick dinner before a show. Calamari starter was well-prepared - crisp, light and very tasty - rings and tentacles with a drizzle of marinara. My friend had the gnocchi, which was great and I had the pork cutlet Milanese, which was okay. The sauce was a bit on the oily side, making the dish heavy and a little muddled. Portions were huge and we both took enough home for lunch the next day. I had a glass of Nebbiolo with dinner that was great. We were too full for dessert, knowing how large the portions would be... A bit noisier than we expected and our server was a little bit distracted. Overall very nice.
We have been to Cibo Matto many timmes and we always enjoy it. This past Saturday night was no exception. Our waitress, who I will not name for fear of competition, is always wonderful and one of the reasons we like returning fairly often. We recommend this restaurant to friends all the time.
We have been coming to Cibo for years. We have tried everything and have our standing favorites. We even have fav servers who have been there from the beginning. We know Cibo and how delicious it can be...but we are so disappointed that the last two visits within the past month have been mediocre at best. New chefs?? New kitchen staff?? Whatever it is, fix it.
The shrimp and scallops over tortellini was a waste. Too much of that pickled stuff and they left out the key ingredient-truffle oil laced on top. It tasted bland and a hit of sour.
Antipasto was gross. Old meats and cheeses. Really? Plain goat cheese? It’s like you took it off someones salad. For the cheese board, show off something different. You might as well have just put goat cheese, Parmesan cheese and mozzarella out. Cheap.
Standards have gone down. It’s sad. This was a true gem.
I had heard wonderful things about this restaurant, so I was really looking forward to it. I ordered the beet salad and there was enough dressing on it to dress at least another salad if not more. That was the tastiest part of the dinner, despite having too much dressing. I ordered the roasted chicken and while the skin was nice and crispy, the chicken itself was very dry. Will not go back.
Fabulous cocktail selection. We shared an order of crab cakes which were perfect. Then we shared the steak and cheese pizza, an interesting combination which was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and the server was charming and engaging. The restaurant was crowded and noisy but the food and drinks were so good that we didn’t care about the noise.
First visit and we are very impressed with the food and the hospitality. Great menu. My wife had shrimp and scallops with gnocchi. I had steak and cheese pizza. Both absolutely delicious
Andy was a great server. The restaurant was a little noisy but not uncomfortably so. We will be back soon
I've always come here and loved it! I recently brought 2 other couples with us and it was their first time coming after me raving about it. I did have a 6:45 reservation and for whatever reason they didn't seat us until 7:30 so I was a bit embarrassed that I highly recommended this place to our friends and they had to wait 45 min to sit down. The manager did acknowledge this and brought us 2 free apps which we appreciated, overall still a great place with great food and I will come back .
We were seated at a table that was pretty close to others. As another party was seated, the woman looked at me and said "these tables are too close for comfort". It was a bit awkward after that. I have dined here before and couldn't wait to come back. This time the food was off. I ordered the bolognese. The sauce had an overwhelming taste almost that it was burnt to the bottom of a pan. My husband ordered the meatballs and just said "definitely not the best- I think I ordered the wrong thing. The ceaser salad was kind of sad with maybe two croutons. Another table next to us was admiring an order that came out to another table saying the other dishes had so much more on them and their dinners lacked. I was pretty bummed out. It seems as though the kitchen may have had an off night. I was really hoping this would have been better since I traveled from Worcester to dine here. I don't think I'll make the trip again.
Food and service were outstanding. The chicken piccata is the best I've ever had. It was a Thursday night, very busy and we were seated at a hightop table between the people waiting at the bar and the waiting area so it was extremely loud. Would wait for a regular table next time, but will definitely go back!
