Better for date night than GNO
Love this place !
Great lobster pasta good drinks
Amazing staff and love how they rotate new items to menu
When we arrived for our reservation, the host was about to seat us when a server came up and started to complain about how she sat a walk-in party of 3 at a 6 top, in front of us and the party of 3. After some confusion on whether we were being sat the host walked us to our table, which was up against a wall and sandwiched between a large party and the entrance of the restaurant. We placed a wine order and appetizer order and were ready to order our dinner when we were informed that they were out of the two dishes we were interested in. Rather than settling in another dish we decided to pay for the wine and app and head to another restaurant.
The noise level was too loud to hold a conversation. Every time the server or manager came to talk to the table next to us their behind was within inches of my face. Also the bread they served was ice cold and the napkins in the basket did not appear to be changed between uses.
I know that it was a Saturday night at 7:30, peak time, so I am willing to give this place a second chance. As far as first impressions go, we were not impressed.
Great service! Chicken piccata was too salty and it was so loud we couldn’t even hear at our own table.
The food is wonderful, service is pretty good, but the acoustics are not great- so noisy it’s hard to hear anyone at the table. That would be ok if the space was not so tight. They need to take out a few two seater tables. It’s just downright uncomfortable for patrons and servers. Feels like they have added tables since the last time we were there. We probably won’t go back unless we know it will be a time when the restaurant is not full
Very disappointed this time around. Ordered a dish and were told they were out of it. Hard to believe they would've run out of this item at 7:00 pm so early in the serving hour. Person in our party ordered a prosecco and were told they don't carry it but was listed on the menu. Turned out our server was new on the job but she found out they did have in stock. The pizzas were not good, they lacked flavor and consistency. Had burgers in the past asked if we could order it and was told they wouldn't make it for us. Past visits we were very pleased but this time did not meet our expectations.
Always good food & fun at Cibo!
Excellent experience: great food and great atmosphere
Extremely disappointed--went on a recommendation from a friend--poor service--our water glasses empty for 20 plus minutes and no one came by to refill--no check back to the table once the food was served! Beet salad was good but the other menu items were extremely salty (which was why the water glasses were empty)
The osso buco was amazing!!
The food, service and overall experience is always amazing!! One of our favorite spots.
We were passed off by our first waiter (who seemed more interested in larger groups) to an inexperienced backup. Wife ordered pizza that had way too much cheese. I had the halibut and to add capers. Dish was not served with the requested capers and I had to ask 2 more times before they were brought to the table. Probably will not return.
Great service with great food
Extremely disappointed. We have been regulars for about a year but hadn’t been there since thanksgiving. Food took forever. Manager came and said he had sent back my wife’s Chicken Piccata because it wasn’t cooked properly and that desert was on him. We ordered a slice of chocolate cake, upon our server’s suggestion, waited another 10 minutes only to have her come back and say they were out. She suggested something else and that took another 15 minutes. We got our check and we were charged for the dessert. I just paid and went home. Didn’t want to have to wait any more than we already had for this horrid experience. I should’ve known better after we were told that our regular server was on vacation. She is wonderful (Naomi) and is the only reason we will probably give this place another chance.
Good food. Tables are a bit close together. One of the cooks knew the people at out table and was standing in the isle for about 65% of our meal. This was very annoying as she was blocking the light to our table and hovering over me moving around and brushing into me as I was talking and trying to eat.
Excellent neighborhood bistro, great food and service, good wine selection. Good for every day or special occasions.
I was disappointed with our entire experience. It was so loud in there, that I left with a headache. At 8pm on Friday night, the restaurant ran out of pizza dough. Our server was friendly but they were under-staffed. Being in the hotel and restaurant industry, I got the impression that the management is not ideal. It doesn't seem like anyone is in charge.
Spaghetti and lobster house special?- was so bland had to add marinara to it to give it any depth of flavor.
Fried lobster salad special was outstanding.
Although I’ve been here before and enjoyed my meal, this last experience was pretty bad. It was New Year’s Eve, but one would expect them to be prepared for that. I would not say the restaurant was overly crowded. Our waiter was truly overwhelmed. I understand that things can get crazy sometimes, but a good server will still communicate and apologize. It probably took about 30 minutes to get our drinks and Over an hour for entrées. They had a limited menu for the evening and had already run out of the veal by 8:30. My potatoes were very undercooked and everything else was just average. The icing on the cake was when we received our bill and two items were on there that we hadn’t ordered. Not sure if I’ll be heading back.
We arrived slightly before they opened as their hours had changed for NYE. The bar tender (maybe floor manager?) promptly let us in and made a delicious dirty martini for me. Once we were at our table the service was fast and efficient and our food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
We were a bit disappointed to learn that the restaurant no longer serves Carbonara. We tried this restaurant based on a great review of that dish. Friends were in from out of country and I feel the restaurant missed the mark of menu variety. Location is easy to get to and overall food was good.
Cozy place for outstanding Italian fare! The beef brisket ravioli and meatballs appetizer were standouts among excellent dishes.
Our reservation was a last minute change due to a scheduling conflict.. The food was good. The restaurant is a little small and were at a tiny table. Since it was small it was very loud. It was very busy so service was slow. Because of the food I would probably try it again.
Items on the menu were not available. Timing of appetizer and main course were poor. Food was very good though.
Wrong food delivered initially. Once veal delivered it was burnt on bottom. Server and atmosphere was good. Kitchen needs some help. May not return which stinks as we love Italian.
I booked my company’s holiday team lunch here at noon and when we showed up we found that the place didn’t open for lunch, EVEN THOUGH the hours at the door clearly stated lunch hours and so did Open Table. Thankfully we were able to squeeze in at their siser restaurant next door, but this was a very disappointing experience. They need to make sure it’s clear they don’t open for lunch. I doubt I’ll bother trying this place again.
This was our first visit. PJ was a great server and offered good advice. Many of the food items such as gnocchi and the tiramisu are hand made in the kitchen and delicious. We definitely will return.
This is a regular neighborhood spot that never disappoints. Strong menu with great specials.
Expected a little more. Ck Parm was bland. Veal Marsala was ok but not great. Value wasn't that great for an average meal.
Great food, went for an early celebration.
We enjoyed our Sunday evening dinner! Great service, wonderful food. if anything, we were a little chilly from a breeze that ran through the restaurant, but that's OK.
Sunday night was a disappointment for the first time Not sure if it was because it was after church on Sunday night. Service was quite friendly but slow. A couple of times I thought we might have been forgotten. My salmon was quite good but my wife's "signature" lobster was lacking lobster. Maine lobster tail was 2 less than penny sized pieces with no flavor plus a couple of shreds. I should have taken a picture. If they had run out of lobster, we should have been informed. Since they had little lobster they doubled down on the spices. Tears from too much spice. Then we got the mango sorbet, quite tasty except for fair sized solid ice in center. We'll give them another chance hoping this was an anomaly
Cibo never let’s us down. Wonderful food and the wine list is excellent, so many choices.
We are frequent visitors at Cibo and it is a favorite. Tonight was disappointing...very slow service and they were not even busy. Cold coffee and had to ask repeatedly for bread, which was cold. Very atypical for Cibo.
Food was excellent. Our waitress acted like she was being put out to serve us.
This is usually one of our favorite spots, and brought some friends are new to town and who had never eaten here before. It was not especially busy for a Saturday night. Our waitress was atrocious. It took 2 requests and 25 minutes to get bread. It took multiple asks for iced tea refills and a glass of ice. Water glasses were not refilled. Salad was ordered with dressing on the side and it came with dressing on it (replacement salad took over 10 minutes). All of the food came out VERY slowly, which we could understand if it were busy, but it was not. At 10 pm, we were the only customers left, and the wait staff started blasting music, which we took as our invitation to leave. It was also VERY rude. Is 10:00 really too late to stay out for dinner on a Saturday night??? We were enjoying the conversation with our friends but felt pressured to leave. Also, the bartender who helped us at the bar before dinner seemed very inexperienced and untrained. I recall in the past you have had professional bartenders. Overall, disappointing, but the food was delicious.
I really wanted to like this place. Great atmosphere, nice people, great menu..Bar looked really nice too. Food was tasty, but a bit bland. A tad more seasoning would probably make it great. Service was extremely slow too. May have been a bad chef on that night. I will try again.
Great food, excellent service. Will go back. Nice neighborhood place.
