The food and service was amazing soo soo greati will definitely recommend friends and family and I will dine there again soon
The appetizers were good. My wife had one of the night's specials, the Veal with piccatta(?) sauce. She thought overall it was a solid dish, but at times the Veal was a little chewy.
I had another of the specials, the lasagna. We were there very early so the lasagna wasn't even out of the oven yet.. Overall the taste and quality of the lasagna was very good. However, they Spooner some sauce onto the bottom of the plate and onto the lasagna....the sauce was refrigerator COLD!!! And for lasagna that literally "just came out of the oven," its internal temp could have been hotter.
We have been to Caio three times in the past three months. It was perfect on New Years Eve and very good last week. Not so good on Tuesday, however. Had to wait an extra long time for a glass of wine I had ordered. Additionally, one of the meals was not up to par. Waitress was slow and inattentive.
Fantastic, friendly, warm service!!! And amazing food / selections. Highly recommend for fantastic, authentic Italian food!
Excellent food, personalized service, our favorite local Italian spot
Three of us went to Ciao. Initial thoughts on the place was basic decoration. Not too impressive. But it didn't matter. The food made up for it. Two of us had the Truffle fettuccine. Outstanding. My wife had their special lasagna. She said it was one of the best she's ever had. Go! Enjoy.
Amazing food and team working atmosphere. Price a little high for no salad or soup, but entre was great. Had dessert was homemade and tasty.
Excellent Italian food that is sure to please foodies as well as customers looking for an enjoyable experience. Outstanding service and ambiance. Homemade pasta is something everyone should try!!!
It is an elegant restaurant. The owners are from Lucca Italy from what we were told by our server Christine. I found this very comforting because Lucca is in Tuscany, and my Father was born in Pontremoli, which is in the region of Massa Carrara, which is also in Tuscany, Italy. The service was exceptional, and the servers were extremely knowledgeable about all the fare on the menu. The food was out of this world. Pure Northern Italian cuisine. I was happily surprised, and have not had such a fine Northern Italian cuisine since I went to San Francisco, and ate a a wonderful Italian restaurant in North Beach, called the Mona Lisa!!! I give Ciao 10 stars!!! We will be back very soon!!! Keep up the great work.....Saluti per tutti, e Parliamo subito!!!
We had a great dining experience! There were four of us and we all tried different entrees. The short rib special was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection! I will go back to try some pasta next time.
This Italian restaurant is my regular "go-to" . Over the past year plus I have introduced many of my friends to this restaurant. Staff is always friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable.
You can't beat homemade fresh pasta.
Ciao is my new favorite restaurant. This was my third visit, and I fell in love with it all over again. This time I tried the Calabrese sausage pasta, and it was excellent. I'm working my way through their menu, so I will be back. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner for anyone who enjoys great Italian food.
I ordered the salmon for dinner. It took a good 1/2 hour before we got our drinks. Then when my salmon came it was raw. We waited fifteen minutes before anyone came to our table. Then we someone came I showed her my salmon. She knew immediately it was undercooked. She said it would take only five minutes to remake. I waited twenty minutes more. At this time my husband already finished his lamb burger. My salmon finally came and I was so made I told our waiter I didn't want it! The waiter was so apologetic and said we wouldn't have to pay for my salmon. I calmed down and ate the salmon dish. It was delicious.
awesome environment, awesome ambience, but most of all awesome food....we arrived a bit early and were sat by someone who didnt seem to be the host. found out later he was the chef 😊
we ordered the alaskan salmon. we saw the chef , i think was Mark , he said it was his specialty and boy was it. 5 stars. nice job Ciao
Food was not good. We waited 15 minutes for a server even to acknowledge us being there. The space was crowded as well. We actually didn’t finish our food. We paid our $100 tab and headed next door to The Range and actually had a great time there with good food and a great atmosphere.
Excellent food, great variety of wine choices, outstanding service. This is not an Olive Garden-Italian restaurant - no parmesan, spaghetti or chicken strips. You will find unique (and outstanding) Italian dishes that I do not find anywhere else that I know of. This is Italian fine-dining at it's best. Food is just spectacular and plentiful. I enjoy/prefer a dinner that I can take my time enjoying several courses and not feeling that I am being rushed through. If you are in a hurry, let them know. If you want to relax, have some great wines (samples are free!) and enjoy your dining experience, then this is the place. Our server (Elton) was helpful and most delightful. Ciao is my wife's and my favorite "special" restaurant - and we come from Shingle Springs to dine here. We look forward to coming back soon. Note: make reservations ahead of time, this can be a very busy restaurant.
Food is excellent, everything seems made from scratch. Defiantly recommmend the Lasagna.
I have been going to Ciao for a while. Ciao now charges a corkage fee of $25. Most comparable restaurants in the Roseville and surrounding area charge $15 and waive the corkage fee if you purchase one of their bottles. This is not the case at Ciao. We actually purchased one of their bottles and have done so frequently. I may have to look elsewhere or drink only water there.
The service is fantastic, the food is better than fantastic. Love everything about it.
It was a wonderful dinner - I am on a stringent auto immune protocol diet, and Ciao did a fantastic job! Our server was amazing; they were slammed, so things were slow, but overall the experience was excellent.
Always a lovely time here, love Francine! It is pricey but worth it!
We went early on a week night instead of a weekend and were surprised how much difference that made in the noise level. Food and wine were great as always!
Visited Ciao for the first time this evening. I must say Ciao may be the best restaurant in the entire area. Everything was outstanding, from the service, salad and soup, Ciao Chicken entree and Lasagna. The beautiful Banoffee Cup dessert was also delicious. Great wine list, focused on Italian wines. We will be back.
The Calabrese sausage was a great food choice and I loved that they served several different wines from Sean Minor. My date ordered the pork chop and said it was delicious as well. The service though was just weird. We had tap different servers because it was busy but then got abandoned at the end of our meal and waited a very long time to even be able to ask for the check. The ambiance is garage-like, they sort of just cleared out the fixtures from the previous restaurant and painted over what they couldn't tear out. If the service had been spot on and there had been more than ikea art on the walls I might have even enjoyed it. Overall though not an experience I'll be eager to repeat. With better service this could have been an overall four stars but it's not there yet.
Food is consistently AWESOME! My compliments to the chef! Our waitress was attentive and knowledgable.
We had a delightful dinner at Ciao. The service was excellent and met several specific requests for dinner that were not in the menu per se. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We also had an excellent wine to accompany the meal.
Dessert finished off the meal in the same fashion, lovely and wonderful. I highly recommend Ciao for a wonderful dining experience.
I wish I had taken photos as our dishes were so nicely presented. This was our 2nd time dining here for lunch & it was just as good as our 1st experience. We had a 12:15 reservation & were seated right away - ordered coffee & our waitress made us Americanos while we were deciding what to order. I had the crab cake served with a crispy polenta cake topped with a little salad-an appetizer-but plenty for me for a light lunch-a big eater would need something else to go with it & my Mom ordered Polenta with a wonderful mushroom sauce & a cup of soup. Both times we have found the parking is easy & it is close to the entrance—making it nice for my 87 years young Mom.
Family owned and operation new addition to Roseville is a great find! Authentic dishes which are delicious! Wonderful wait staff . Could be noisy for some - tall ceilings make the acoustics challenging to have a quiet conversation. But overall - terrific place to try!
The food and drinks we had were well done and served in a timely manner. Very attentive service.
Owners are very friendly and helpful. You can taste wines before buying. Would highly recommend!!
Great food where you feel like you’re visiting your Italian family.
Love this place. Great food. Extensive menu. Personable involved Management/owners
Excellent service and knowledge of food. Made us feel like we were back in Italy!!!
The food is outstanding... with many food choices. The staff are amazing and the owner has done an outstanding job with the food selection, authentic Italian, and served by family members that are Italian. Can’t say enough great things about Ciao!!!!
The food, service and staff are great. They check on you but not intrusive. The tables/booths are spaced well and you don't feel like you are sharing your conversation with all.
The only regret I have for my first visit to this restaurant is that I hadn't tried it sooner. The food was excellent. I had the pork chop, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious The accompanying roasted gruel sprouts and polenta were equally delicious. My husband ordered the pasta special with black truffles that was fantastic. We split a caesar salad, which was also very good. We will definitely be returning very soon.
Best Italian Restaurant in Roseville.
The ambiance was nice. The food was very average. The service was terrible. We had multiple servers bring different parts of the dinner out. The main server did not even check on us. AT ALL. The only reason she asked how the food was at one point is because we flagged her down to bring us more bread. Overall the food was not special enough for us to go back, the bad service does not help either.
Amazing food and good service. Will be coming back!
