My husband likes their menu. It is ok. I feel it is pricey. Hadn't been there in awhile so we went so he could enjoy.
From the wine to the dessert, I've never been disappointed!!! My new favorite Italian restaurant!!!
It was exultant.... Nick is the best...never had A bad meal, have been at Ciao several times and will continue to go.
Food is always outstanding, and so is the service; we highly recommend dining here.
The food here is always great. The owner was our server, and he was quite busy running the business. He needs more wait staff. It was a leisurely holiday lunch, and the food is delicious, but he should stay with running the business, and not engaging in serving.
Outstanding, authentic Italian food!
Service was slow. No wine list and wine that was provided was poor.Food was not good.Main dish was covered in grease and when ordered the desert, it was no longer available, for a Saturday night, everything should have been available on the menu.
Waiter was not very knowledgeable of the menu. Overall experience poor compared to last time we visited there.Would not recommend.
This was my fourth trip here and first one with my husband. It was my birthday, so, our two hour drive for a concert was preceded by dinner at this restaurant. I previously had been so enamored with this little place and this was the first time I had eaten indoors. All other times had been in their outside dining area. I ordered the beans and greens, as I have always ordered, as an appetizer. I normally salt a lot of my food, but, found ALL the food I had that night was tremendously salty. I also was told that there wasn't a wine list, but, "what kind of varietal did I want?" It was odd to hear this, because, there were three other tables that asked for wine and it seemed evasive that there was not a list. Also, the table next to me asked for beer, and the host rattled off three beers and that was it....it was very odd. Why no list for beer or wine?
Anyway, back to the meal: I had instant heartburn from either the dipping sauce for the bread or the beans and greens, which set the tone for my meal. The garlic used in their dishes is the jarred kind, which is potent, pungent and overpowering, and they use an unnecessary amount of it!!!! My husband had a pasta dish that had angel hair pasta in it. It was okay, although, I could see the oil it was swimming in. I had a pappardelle with a light cream sauce with mushrooms. The flavor was overpoweringly garlic; again with that minced jarred garlic. This is a gigantic pet peeve of mine. The bread was also slathered with it. The Torta della Nonna, which I've always wanted to try for dessert, they are always "out" of. I'm beginning to think that its just on the menu for the looks! I think this is my last trip here, even though I have always had good service, and good appetizers.
Food, as usual was very good. Their veal dishes are really good. Little pricey compared to other restaurants in the area but good.
Waiter was very good and attentive.
Food is always excellent with a quaint atmosphere and an authentic menu. Fresh, well-prepared food.
I don't know what happened here. This is one of our favorite restaurants - the food is excellent, it's always clean and the staff are normally wonderful. Today I guess the guy was stressed - almost bordering on rude. I don't want to give a bad review because we absolutely LOVE this restaurant, and will definitely be going back, but if this had been a first experience we would not be returning. (But as always, the food was GREAT!)
Overall a very disappointing experience. The lemon chicken had no taste and was fried, which is not what I expected. I dont' eat fried food if I know it is fried. The pasta sauce was watery, as though the pasta wasn't drained appropriately. For the price, I was very disappointed and probably wouldn't go back. There were very few people in the restaurant at the time, so being busy wasn't a possible excuse. The caprese salad was good; I'd recommend that. But I was overcharged initially and had to point it out to the server. On the contrary, my friend said her entree was very good.
They were initially very concerned about splitting the checks when we thought all twelve were going to make it. but since only 6 of us did they were able to handle the separate checks.
They did suggest we do family style but again because we had a lot of no shows it worked out well. Everyone enjoyed their selection.
Go early and enjoy a drink at the bar and linger over an after dinner brandy or coffee.
Love the bread that comes with the Italian appetizer
Second time we visited and wine experience is bothersome. They never have the wine advertised, and try to compensate by offering something else. One is also at room temp
Great Italian Food! the specials are always tempting and there is a very nice wine list.
We were seated promptly, the waiter was friendly and polite. The food was very good and took an appropriate amount of prep time. The salad that came with the dinner was also excellent!
Can't even explain how bad the food was even if it wasn't overpriced it would be bad.
Bartender waiting on 4 tables, very sad
The owner waited on us, gave us a great wine recommendation at a good value. Food was very good and we have returned several times with consistent results.
Best service AND Food. The great service and fine food enhanced a friends' get-together on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Nice place for a couple to dine
At first I thought this would be ideal.. nice, new, restaurant in Robinson moderately priced. Was I wrong.. long and short of it over $40.00 for pasta?? seriously.. no hostess, staff running around doing server, bar tending, waitressing? don't know who's pocketing all the money but adequate staffing goes a long day.. let's just say highly disappointed in Robinson Ciao 2 is a great name... Goodbye. save your money or ante up a little more and go to PaPa J's, Anthony's Coal fired Pizza, or Ditka's.
We made reservations via Open Table. We got to the restaurant at 8:45 for our 9:00 confirmed reservation and were told the kitchen was closed. Told them we had reservations via Open Table. He said, oops sorry, I didn't notice.
This was our second visit to Ciao! 2 The food was excellent both times. We had sangria that was outstanding too! All in all a great dining experience! We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others!
When we arrived the restaurant was empty, except for one table. The overall atmosphere was great but the food was pricey, which I don't mind if the quality of food is worth it. Everything was bland and had no taste to it. The best part of the meal was the Andes mints we received at the end of the meal.
The food was excellent here. Fresh prepared with pride. Quality Italian classics done right. Bread is fresh baked. Yes this is worth the stop
Great menu and very personal service.
Stopped for lunch. The sandwiches and zucchini fritters were great as was the service. When in Robinson Twp. Be sure to try it. You will not be disappointed
Eaten dinner here with my family twice. Same waiter both times and he is fantastic. Have some of our favorite varieties of Italian wine and really good homestyle food. Gem in the middle of strip center.
I have eaten at Ciao many times. The owner knows us by name. On this occasion two of us entered the restaurant and were seated. The waiter dropped off menus and we ordered wine. The owner brought the wine. We drank the wine and sat. The waiter served several tables. Thirty minutes after being seated, the waiter came over. We stood up and said we were leaving and paid for the wine. Neither the waiter or owner apologized for the total lack of service.
Special care given by service. Presentation was lovely and service was timely.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Wine list has a wide selection. Service is very helpful in making decisions. The burnt almond tort is worth it. This is the only place our entire family can agree on and eat every bite of food.
We love it there! ! Food is great, staff is great too!!
Went here for Mother's Day. First time visit. It's small and pretty noisy (my son kept his hands over his ears). That being said, the people who work there were extremely friendly, great table service. I liked the ambiance. The food was very good. They had some great specialty drinks. I would definitely recommend, especially for a date night. Don't think I would take the kids there again. This would be a great happy hour place too.
I thought the food was average, but the entrees were overpriced. Our dinner for 6 was almost $200 and most of us had a pasta dish or pizza. The server was nice.
Enjoyable evening, good food and atmosphere. We will return!
I took two friends to Ciao's the other night for dinner. One had been there before the other had not. We all left praising the dinner we had. Although I was disappointed that Nick and Sabrina weren't there, their granddaughter had not disappointed. The staff was great as was the service. Never did we feel rushed and we enjoyed the nearly two hour dinner we shared. We shared a nice bottle of Chianti. The cream of mushroom soup was a nice appetizer. The dinners all came out together and tasted as good as they looked. I've never been disappointed in Ciao's and will continue to patronize this establishment. Molto Bella!
Service was very friendly and prompt. I would only go back for a special occasion since this restaurant is a bit pricey. I just refuse to pay 8.5 dollars for a glass of wine. The food was terrific. Our server was very good.
This place never disappoints. I receive a gift card every year from one of my vendors and it is always a great place for a nice date or special occasion. My boyfriend and I enjoy the very diverse wine selection and the quality of the food. It is a bit on the pricey side, but completely worth it.
As always, we had a fabulous dinner. Our server, Jeremy, made dinner twice as wonderful. Food is always fresh and flavorful. The Limoncello Rasperry martini was unbelievable, and the Tiramisu was to die for. Ciao2 is a hidden gem!
