Delicious food and fantastic service!
Always amazing food everytime we go. Being from London it's hard to find Indian restaurants that hold up to the quality available over there but we found it at Chutney Masala. Relaxing atmosphere and helpful staff and they do brunch every Sunday which we love.
The lighting is too bright and the service was spotty. The food was fine but nothing exceptional. I liked their location on the water better.
We had eaten here just 2 months ago and the service was a bit iffy. This time the service was the worst. Pappadums and dip were never served. Appetizers to share were left on the table without serving utensils. The 3 $20+ entrees were brought to the table and not served to each guest until I insisted. Mine was originally left on the farthest side of the table, where I would have to reach over the entire table or get up, walk around and bring it back. The food we took home was missing a sauce that was key to the dish.
The servers appeared young and unfamiliar with the English language. One of them reeked from body odor. The restaurant was not busy, had plenty of staff but obviously no supervision.
The food was good but if I am really craving Indian in the near future, I'll opt for take-out.
First time visit persuaded by Open Table reviews. It was good not great. The bhajjia and breads were good. The chicken tikka masala and baigan bharta not as good as we're used to but flavorful. Perhaps better guidance of the stand-out dishes would be beneficial. We were directed to the sampler appetizer but we're never thrilled with "samplers." Would try again even though the price point is high.
Much too noisy due to loud kids
Good value. Food was delicious with a nice variety. Temperature of some dishes could have been hotter. Nice atmosphere and good service. Lamb dishes are often tough on such buffets but the lamb was incredibly tender.
AIDSfreeAFRICA's board of directors love to dine at Chutney Masala because of its nice ambiance, good food and service. It is quiet enough so we can conduct our business while enjoying the meal.
Excellent versions of a broad variety of Indian offerings. It is definitely worth a drive to get food of this quality.
We tried out Chutney because it was mentioned in Westchester Magazine's dining issue. Because it was a beautiful night, we sat outside but because we were outside the service was less than attentive. However, it was made up by the food. We sampled a lot of the appetizers, the chili chicken was amazing. The bread sampler should have small and large because there was way too much for two people. We look forward to going back and trying some of the other offerings.
The best Indian food my husband have ever had, the setting is beautiful also.
A gem of a restaurant in Irvington, cozy, indoor seating. Food, service and presentation was excellent.
When they were in their waterfront location the food seemed better. Regardless the food wasn't all that remarkable and the service was very gracious but not always present. Ambiance doesn't compare to former location.
Overall very good (except the Nan which was charred) lamb vindaloo and egglant dish were both very good, service good draw back is the ringing phone- they should have an earpiece so it den's disturb diners.
Came here for dinner with my husband on a Saturday night. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would also come here with a group!
Gracious hosts that make you feel like family when you arrive at the restaurant. Authentic yummmy appetizers and meat selections to enjoy. My wife loves lamb and enjoyed her lamb hops which were delicious. I enjoyed the lamb kebab skewers. Loved their spicy spicy 🌶 home made hot sauce👍Nice wine selection properly chilled white wine.
For dessert saffron ice cream resting on a big piece of halvah is the way to go!
Gracious friendly service a true neighborhood gem!
Food is consistently amazing.
Solid Indian food -- relaxing atmosphere on main street of Irvington
Very good food and service. Relatively new location on Irvington's main street has a hip sense and is a better fit.
Great location and great authentic Indian food. Option to sit outside was a great choice and allows you to see the small town while enjoying an extensive and well prepared range of foods. Service was invisible but perfect. On time and attentive. Good good good.
Stellar, fresh, authentic Indian food. Excellent buffet selection. Wonderful service. Sit outside on a nice day.
We were looking for an Indian restaurant with a more contemporary vibe, and Chutney Masala definitely delivered on that goal! Well worth our 30-minute drive to get there. Our 2 teenagers are generally pretty basic eaters, but they tried (almost) everything and also gave the meal a thumbs up.
Everything is a cut above. I especially love the tandoori Pompano.
Took a day out over a recent holiday weekend to visit one of the Rockefeller properties and drove to Irvington for lunch at Chutney Masala after. It was a Sunday afternoon, so street parking was free and plentiful. The restaurant was light, airy, and the decor felt fresh. My companion (a vegetarian) and I really enjoyed the brunch buffet. Some of the dishes were "best" versions that we have experienced in the NYC area and it was a great value (as of our visit, the buffet was $17.95, which included the to-order of two types of fresh naan that we got and a beverage). I hope to return on another weekend trip and would certainly go back sooner if I lived in town.
Great! First time at new location, excited to see how well thought out the menu was. Delicious, we'll be back!
Extremely pleased. Even the drinks were served as requested. It wasan early diner so the place was relatively empty. Usually very busy.
Staff was pleasant. Food was good and there were plenty of non-Spicey options.
Delicious food. wonderful ambiance and elegant service. We will be back!
We have been here before in old location. Now they have a nicer restaurant and a better chef. Only parking is a problem. Fabulous sauces. Fresh ingredients.
We love this restaurant for a visit with friends or relatives. The food is delicious and can be easily shared among a group of people. The service is excellent. At a recent visit, we arrived for a visit with a dear friend who had arrived from out of town. Even though there were three groups celebrating birthdays already in progress, we were seated in comfortable table. We were never rushed and we had excellent service, despite the larger groups which needed attention nearby. We had a lovely dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, even if the event is simply a reunion with a dear friend.
