We truly believe great food starts with great ingredients. We procure only fresh, wholesome ingredients with no artificial flavorings or additives, local produce wherever possible, all natural poultry, free range lamb, wild not farmed seafood. We grind our own spices to ensure freshness.

Lamb Nilgiri Korma
Free range lamb stewed in creamy mint cilantro sauce
One of our all time favs. Great food and surroundings.
We think this is the best Indian restaurant in Westchester. Start with a creative cocktail as we do. My partner enjoyed the lentil soup, and I really liked the fried (ungreasy) eggplant fritters. We've tried an assortment of main courses, and I always seem to return to the chicken in that yummy creamy sauce, Chicken Tikka Masala..not too spicy for me. Our other choice that evening was the Lamb Nilgiri Korma, sightly spicy and tasty. Both accompanied by basmati rice. Of course, you should order a naan..plain or garlic. So many dishes to try.
My only suggestion is that it would be nice to hear some Indian music!
Wonderful service food was exceptional.
They needed some ethnic music playing in the background but otherwise food is excellent - the lamb chops are amazing!! I order them every time!
Food is always outstanding!
We think Chutney Masala is the best Indian restaurant in Westchester. The food is wonderful and so is the service. Also, the ambiance is great. It would be nice if they had a happy hour since the bar is relatively large.
We had a really good dinner and the cocktails were very enjoyable too. The only confusion was we seemed to have two waiters so we weren’t sure if they were in sync. My tandoori chicken was tender with a wonderful sauce on the side.
My partner enjoyed the tills masala. We look forward to returning to try more dishes.
I’ve been here often. The food is always fantastic and service attentive.
We went to Chutney Masala late Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded, though it certainly had picked up by the time we left. The atmosphere/decor is lovely. The food is prepared very well and our waiter couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend for delicious Indian food. I was the driver so I will definitely go back to try one of their intriguing cocktails. My friend enjoyed a glass from the nice wine list.
Food was delicious, nicely seasoned and lovely presentations. Staff was warm and friendly and helpful.
Would definitely return and also recommend!
Joyanta is the best waiter I have encountered! Polite, attentive, kind, knowledgeable and professional waiter. I am so happy he has returned to The Chutney!
The butter chicken was good but the tandoori chicken ( malai ) was not fully cooked and lacked flavour. Garlic naan was very good
Our dinner was very good and we enjoyed the vegetarian options.
We have been going to Chutney Masala for many years and always enjoy it. The food is delicious and plentiful.
Enjoying a weekend getaway in Tarrytown and found Chutney Masala on line and then reserved through Open Table. A very good Indian food experience was really diluted by several groups of diners who gave up trying to control their young kids.
Good if you are seeking family friendly”, albeit not what we envisioned for a Saturday evening. Shame.
Very good food. Very fresh and good quantities. Excellent service that was helpful in explaining the dishes.
Comfortable restaurant, casual dining.
Consistent high quality. Some of the best Indian food in the area.
Excellent, a step above other Indian restaurants in the area
Stands out from the typical Westchester Indian restaurant for many reasons. The menu is extensive; while it has the typical choices in every category, there are original “takes” on things. An example is “tofu Manchurian” which was very good( hot!)which I have not seen anywhere else. Dishes cover most areas of India. Dishes which should be mild are and those that should pack a punch, do! Everything is marked spicy or not, so no surprises
Service is competent and pleasant, but we thought it to be slow; perhaps one could interpret it as “not being rushed”!! However, we ordered a lamb biryani and got goat ( both were offered). I do not enjoy dodging the fragments of bone that typically inhabit goat dishes on the region.
Importantly, THEY SERVE 1947 BEER!!! This is the ideal accompaniment to Indian food. Different from other beers, it is tasty but does not bloat you
Anyone looking for good Indian food around here should not miss this place. Plus, street parking is plentiful and free
Chutney Masala happens to be the best Indian food we have had in a very long time. It is certainly worth the drive for us and we plan on returning frequently. We were happy to see that the majority of the patrons were Indian families, which means to us that they dine at Chutney Masala because they find the food authentic. The only blip was with one staff member who, though well-meaning, had no idea about alcohol at all, which is fine. My husband ordered a Campari and soda, and when the server said that they were out of it (I suspect they never have had it), he offered my husband Southern Comfort instead! Shades of Janis Joplin, anyone? Anyway, that really didn't matter once we dug into our food. We ordered far too much on purpose and were very happy to reprise the meal the next day.
Chutney Masala consistently delivers great food and solid service. Having recently returned from a trip to India, it was good to see that Chutney still held up, as compared to natively prepared food. It's the best restaurant in Irvington and maybe best in the Rivertowns. Never disappointed.
It took about 1/2 hour to get a servers attention even though the restaurant was practically empty. Somehow none of the servers would make eye contact! We had to send back a lamb dish because it was undercooked and not warm. We ended up ordering another lamb dish in its place and the rest of the meal was fine. I’ve been to Chutney many times in the past but not sure I will be going back anytime soon.
consistently good Indian cuisine and friendly wait staff.
This was our first experience with the kids (9,12) eating Indian food. They were WONDERFUL. Great with recommendations and whole family loved it! Definitely going back.
Great experience- lovely setting, great service and excellent food .
Chutney Masala consistently delivers wonderful flavors, even in simple dishes. Whether the classic northern India dishes or new variations, I'm always impressed with their food. The foods always taste incredibly fresh, and the service is wonderful. I've never had a disappointing meal here.
We had a delightful dinner on Sunday eve. The food was terrific! We will definitely be back soon.
Amazing Sunday brunch! The food is terrific, and the staff are so very friendly! Love coming here.
Food was fresh and tasty. Good selection of Vegan options.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone was happy to answer questions and give advice. I usually don't go to Indian restaurant in Westchester because I like going into Queens but I will definitely go to Chutney Masala again
The food is delicious, and the place very cosy. The service a little slow and makes you feel they do you a favor , but otherwise this is our favorite Indian restaurant!
Excellent in every way. Meant to give it five stars in each category but did not apply enough pressure.
Great place for Indian fusion food. The restaurant caters more to local tastes. Food was very good in my opinion.
We made a reservation for 8:45pm and arrived 9pm just 30 minutes before they closed. The bartender and waiter were very pleasant and did not rush us , so we really appreciated that!! They ran out of lychee juice for a martini so the waiter recommended a Tajtini after asking what kind of flavors I would be interested and it was AMAZING. The food was Restaurant Week and portion sizes were VERY generous! All in all amazing experience, we were celebrating our 1st Holi after marriage dinner and now we are looking forward to coming back!!
The restaurant relocated to a bright, cheerful, sunny space on Main Street in Irvington, a charming river town with good restaurants, shops, and historic places to visit [Sunnyside and Lyndhurst]. There wasn't a big lunch crowd but we saw many outgoing orders, so it must be popular. There is an extensive menu. We were there during Restaurant Week and decided to go with that menu. The choices were good and flavorful and the price reasonable. I took the rest of mine home for dinner. Our server was very solicitous, returning several times to make sure everything was OK. The manager was welcoming and also checked on us and refilled our glasses. I would return. I wish them well.
Took advantage of restaurant week. Had the lunch special. Choice of Four appetizers we tried two Both good four entrees we tried lamb-excellent- and “Goan”shrimp curry. Which was sour but otherwise ok. Came with a rice pilaf of sorts and delicious fresh naan. Desert included ras malai which is where we always stop
Service was cheerful, prompt, and competent
Of note, they have “1947” beer. Which is ideally suited to Indian food: cooling, not filling and many non-beer drinkers like it
Food was delicious. was foe HVRW and was a fixed menu. Will definetly return to try the regular menu.
First time there and my wife and I had a great time.
The waiter was great to. He had some good recommendations.
Food was good we wanted to try something different since we both love the famous butter chicken.
We will go back
