About Chutney Masala
Culinary School graduate and James Beard honoree Chef Navjot Arora has put together a unique menu borrowing from the vast culinary diversity of India.
We truly believe great food starts with great ingredients. We procure only fresh, wholesome ingredients with no artificial flavorings or additives, local produce wherever possible, all natural poultry, free range lamb, wild not farmed seafood. We grind our own spices to ensure freshness.
The New York Times gave high marks to our succulent tandoori cooked meats and referred to our sauces as superbly complex.” Vegetarians will feel like royalty” says The Journal News, referring to our delicious curries and vegetable appetizers. Our menu reflects Chef Navjot’s true passion for food that began from a very young age. He further honed his skills and learnt from the very best master chefs at the Taj Group of Hotels
The menu offers a variety of combination platters, along with biryanis, curries, tandoori entrees.

Chutney Masala Ratings and Reviews
Always amazing food everytime we go. Being from London it's hard to find Indian restaurants that hold up to the quality available over there but we found it at Chutney Masala. Relaxing atmosphere and helpful staff and they do brunch every Sunday which we love.
We had eaten here just 2 months ago and the service was a bit iffy. This time the service was the worst. Pappadums and dip were never served. Appetizers to share were left on the table without serving utensils. The 3 $20+ entrees were brought to the table and not served to each guest until I insisted. Mine was originally left on the farthest side of the table, where I would have to reach over the entire table or get up, walk around and bring it back. The food we took home was missing a sauce that was key to the dish.
The servers appeared young and unfamiliar with the English language. One of them reeked from body odor. The restaurant was not busy, had plenty of staff but obviously no supervision.
The food was good but if I am really craving Indian in the near future, I'll opt for take-out.
First time visit persuaded by Open Table reviews. It was good not great. The bhajjia and breads were good. The chicken tikka masala and baigan bharta not as good as we're used to but flavorful. Perhaps better guidance of the stand-out dishes would be beneficial. We were directed to the sampler appetizer but we're never thrilled with "samplers." Would try again even though the price point is high.
We tried out Chutney because it was mentioned in Westchester Magazine's dining issue. Because it was a beautiful night, we sat outside but because we were outside the service was less than attentive. However, it was made up by the food. We sampled a lot of the appetizers, the chili chicken was amazing. The bread sampler should have small and large because there was way too much for two people. We look forward to going back and trying some of the other offerings.
Gracious hosts that make you feel like family when you arrive at the restaurant. Authentic yummmy appetizers and meat selections to enjoy. My wife loves lamb and enjoyed her lamb hops which were delicious. I enjoyed the lamb kebab skewers. Loved their spicy spicy 🌶 home made hot sauce👍Nice wine selection properly chilled white wine.
For dessert saffron ice cream resting on a big piece of halvah is the way to go!
Gracious friendly service a true neighborhood gem!
Great location and great authentic Indian food. Option to sit outside was a great choice and allows you to see the small town while enjoying an extensive and well prepared range of foods. Service was invisible but perfect. On time and attentive. Good good good.
We were looking for an Indian restaurant with a more contemporary vibe, and Chutney Masala definitely delivered on that goal! Well worth our 30-minute drive to get there. Our 2 teenagers are generally pretty basic eaters, but they tried (almost) everything and also gave the meal a thumbs up.
Took a day out over a recent holiday weekend to visit one of the Rockefeller properties and drove to Irvington for lunch at Chutney Masala after. It was a Sunday afternoon, so street parking was free and plentiful. The restaurant was light, airy, and the decor felt fresh. My companion (a vegetarian) and I really enjoyed the brunch buffet. Some of the dishes were "best" versions that we have experienced in the NYC area and it was a great value (as of our visit, the buffet was $17.95, which included the to-order of two types of fresh naan that we got and a beverage). I hope to return on another weekend trip and would certainly go back sooner if I lived in town.
We love this restaurant for a visit with friends or relatives. The food is delicious and can be easily shared among a group of people. The service is excellent. At a recent visit, we arrived for a visit with a dear friend who had arrived from out of town. Even though there were three groups celebrating birthdays already in progress, we were seated in comfortable table. We were never rushed and we had excellent service, despite the larger groups which needed attention nearby. We had a lovely dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, even if the event is simply a reunion with a dear friend.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants. The food remains excellent.
Service spotty at times. On this visit, our waiter served us, then disappeared. He never came back to ask whether we wanted another glass of wine, nor did anyone refill our empty water glasses. We then waited for 10-15 minutes before finally chasing him down for our check. People at the next table were having same issue with him.
Service was much better in previous visits, so chalking this one up to a fluke, but disappointing.,
Best Indian food around. Their Breakfast/Brunch a unique experience. Complete buffet plus made to order eggs, omelette, breakfast pancakes brought to your table by a smiling and easy going waiter. One friend travelled from PA--said she'd do again for Chutney.
The food was good compared with more expensive and upscale Indian restaurants. The Tandoori chicken and the eggplant were terrific. Sauces were good too. However, the spices were quite mild and so various things like the bread and spinach were bland. We will go back but offer these to the owners as suggestions.
