Churchill’s was amazing and the food was so delicious. Shorty our waiter was accommodating and a class act. We loved it!
Faster service at bar, needed to ask for condiments.. didn’t have butter for potatoes. Good was average.. much better options in Savannah
All around a nice place. Food was nothing spectacular but good to eat when having a few drinks.
Went to Rooftop Bar First and should have stayed there. I food and service were unacceptable. The best thing going for them was the blues Combo
Oysters were very good, as was the Scottish egg. Fish part of the fish and chips was quite good. All the mains were very salty, especially the chips. A level of saltiness you can still taste the next morning. Service was excellent.
Fries! Fries! Fries! Hands down the best fries I have ever had. Truffle fries are worth coming back to Savannah for! Service was great also, we had an awesome waitress. Did I mention the fries though??? Love it!
We ate on the rooftop. Very nice atmosphere, great food and good service. Regional and British dishes both were superb.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Great Music. Great service. The food was typical bar food and therefore only 4 stars. But we would totally go back and hang all night at this pub. Exceptional find!
I'm a local and never been here before but I will be back. The shrimp and chips were fantastic
While the food and service was good, the noise level was so annoying that my husband and I had one drink, ate our food quick and got out. They really should consider whether or not it is wise to have musicians playing during the busiest time on Friday night. It just added to the chaos. The server was great though.
Server Jaelyn was amazing. We need more people like her! Food was so, good!
Churchill’s was good. Service was very good.
Food was wonderful !
Appetizers pimento and oysters! Yum!
Crab cake and steak was outstanding!
Fantastic dinner with friends! Service was excellent!
Very loud crowd in bar area watching England “football” team play Belgium (I think). So they suggested I be moved from original table near that area, to help with noise. LJ, the server was very nice and attentive. Happy hour well drinks at $3 is nice deal but apparently they charge you extra (in this case 50¢) for soda mixer. Seems like the mixer should be factored into price on HH menu.
If you like your french onion soup delicious and hot without excessive amounts amounts of filler onions this is the one. Decent fish n’ chips, good enough shrimp and pasta for a non-Italian place. Took awhile to get something from the bar. I don’t know why the hostess was being a jerk about where we would like to sit. Still, great bar food experience. And if you like to watch sports and the dog show they have plenty of HD TVs.
Food and atmosphere was great. Service was not so. Waitress left and never came back and had to wait 45 minutes for a check.
The mood was mediocre and overpriced. I was excited to try some southern friend chicken and waffles and what I received was 2 burnt and dry chicken strips and toaster waffles, they brought my boyfriend the wrong food and when they finally brought his burger, the lettuce flew off the plate and the guy just threw it away and didn’t even ask if we wanted him to bring another. Their drinks were overpriced and watered down, the presentation of the food was not at all beautiful or aesthetic. Go somewhere else!
Booked while traveling to Savannah for July 4th weekend, as we were looking for a place to watch England vs Ukraine in the UEFA Euro 2020. We were offered a spot in the main dining room but opted to sit in the bar so that we could watch the game. Several fans were there in jerseys, cheering for England, which made for a festive atmosphere.
Staff was friendly and attentive, beer was perfectly chilled. Our group had sausage rolls, shrimp & grits, and fish & chips. Popped up to the rooftop after, would like to go back and sit up there next time :)
Shorty was our server and he made our experience AMAZING!!!!
Churchill's food was very good! I ate the Cottage pie and it was delicious!! The bar in there is beautiful and the service was great!!! Would definitely eat here again!
Great food. I hope it was the server’s first day.
The oyster Rockefeller was charred, the Caesar salad came without dressing, had to ask for dressing, the fish and chips were good but they left off the mushy peas with mint from the plate, so the waitress brought back a condiment cup of canned peas which were awful. Not much good except the fish and chips which were excellent.
We booked this last minute as many other reservations were hard to get. We had no idea what to expect and were a little worried since there were open reservations when everything else was booked. I’m happy to say that we had an outstanding experience. The atmosphere was great, the interior was very nice and felt like an English pub. The service was above and beyond! Our server, Shorty, was one of the best I’ve ever experienced (and I used to work in the restaurant industry). The drink options were plentiful, and they made the best Old Fashioned I’ve ever had. You could smell them smoking the glass from our table (which was near the bar). Lastly, the food was excellent. I will absolutely be back next time I’m in Savannah.
The steak and ale pie was a total disappointment. It wasn’t pie. It was stew with a bit of puff pastry floating on top. The ‘stew’ had a tomato based sauce which was as far from a traditional steak and ale pie as you can get. As an Englishman I understand that I’m asking for British style food in an American restaurant but they are not even close.
In their defense they gave us two free beers and a cheesecake.
Understaffed! The servers are very nice however the food is very bad. I really wanted to love this place, but the food is what makes it so bad.
Ordered a very simple salad as listed on the menu, no substitutions, only added a protein. Salad was missing not one, but two of the main ingredients listed. And the protein was chopped into pieces so small and unappetizing it looked like it had been chewed and put on the plate. Left hungry.
It was super noisy. Our group couldn’t hear each other talk. We had 8:30 reservations and were seated immediately, but no one came to fill our water glasses or take an order till 9. It took another hour to get our food, and then parts of it like the Brussels sprouts were burnt beyond eating. By the time our check came, I was wishing we had just gone through the Popeyes drive thru.
We had a 8:15 reservation and seated right away..We had an Awesome waiter named Shortie, he was the best!! The hostess told us we had the best waiter and she was right!!!! We are from R.I. and he worked in R.I. at Federal Hill in Providence!!! Atmosphere, food, etc was excellent Glad we choose Churchill's for dinner!!!. Thankyou for a fantastic evening.
Food was good but service was on the slow side. The noise level was higher than we prefer but it was due to live music.
Good food, great service.
The service was fast and delightful! The atmosphere was also pretty cool and felt like a proper English smoking room. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. The roast while flavorful was dry and no amount of gravy fixed it. The Yorkshire Pudding was cold, very spongy and difficult to chew. Both orders of the fish and chips came swimming in grease. There is an awesome highlight though for food, that is the Chicken Pot Pie! Honestly, the pot pie would give my granny a run for her money. I would return just to eat that pot pie. The She-crab soup was also tasty. So overall, the service was top notch and friendly, the restaurant is nice and classy, and if you want food make sure to order one of the pies.
Very cool historical place with amazing bar and fantastic cocktails. Food good, but disappointed we couldn't get oysters. Apparently not offered during brunch on Sat. However website menu didn't indicate brunch on Sat. Fried green tomatoes app a bit too fried & tomatoes slices very thin so just tasted like fried cornmeal.
Overall the restaurant was nice and the menu brought us there. But the food was not very good. From the French onion that didn’t have a good taste to the shrimp and grits. My son has allergies and while I respect that they wanted to protect themselves but the manager was very rude and basically never came back to tell me what they would do. I understand that’s risky but I was asking for guidance and polite. Do you know how hard it is with a kid with allergies. In the end they made plain pasta with butter and Parmesan cheese and he ate it up.
Really helpful and kind staff!
We had a great experience with a fabulous server!
The mushroom and lentil pie was AMAZING! Great service and ambiance. Something for everyone.
Food was mediocre at best, prime rib was not prime rib, she crab was okay but lacking crab - shrimp and grits were an improvement compared to the rest…
If you are looking for pub food this is your place. The steak and ale pie is always on point and the bangers and mash are great.
