I’ve been to other church and union locations and i unfortunately had a subpar experience here. Our server took 15 mins after being seated to check in with us or bring water. Once we placed our order for drinks and food, she rolled her eyes at my gf because she asked for over medium eggs. Once our drinks FINALLY arrived, the server spilt 1/4 of the drink on the table and did not clean it up and say anything but walked away. Then we placed our order at 1220pm and by 1:10pm, the manager came by and we had to share our experience. We ended up paying for what we ordered and left hungry and disappointed. The only redeeming thing at Church and Union was how great the manager was and comped our drinks and app. Suggestion, as a server, don’t drink on the job. We saw her drink behind the bar and could have contributed to the poor service.

Mixed dinner for our group of 4. Filet , salmon and crab cake were good, but the crab cake was not hot. Tuna poke seemed to lack flavor and the fried chicken had about 2 inches of batter that was hard as a rock. The chicken was decent once my daughter was able to get down to the chicken. The chocolate dessert was the favorite of our group. Overall, underwhelming dinner but with a cool interior.

Server was nice. Menu was extremely limited. Based on reviews online we expected more brunch options with fresh pastries and the like. Nothing like that was available. One bread option (white toast). Maybe it’s a regional thing, but coming from the East Coast, where wheat or rye are offered this seemed odd. Maybe the posts we saw were limited time offerings. But it’s what enticed us to make reservations. Food was tasty. We sat outside, weather was great.

Ambience was great, food was very good, and service was amazing for a group of 11 women. For the price, however, paying a kitchen staff fee on top of a 20% gratuity is not cool though, especially with the price paid for the dinners and drinks. Be prepared for that, but otherwise a good experience.
