All good in the hood
If you like the superficial flair of modern Italian dining please do not go here and ruin everyone else's experience by your complaining. It is a staple Italian Restaurant in Phoenix that provides an old school ambiance with great food. Entrees come with soup and salad and I have read reviews about the amount of dressing on the salad.... simply ask for light dressing or on the side if possible. I liked everything as was served and prepared.
best osso buco I ever had, Kat our server was the best, we had a really great time and some of the best Italian ever!
I've dined here for over 30 years, often multiple times per week. From day one, the food has been excellent, matched by impeccable service. I know many who eat, or have eaten, there. Each of them count Christo's high on the favorite restaurant list, if not on top. I highly recommend Christo's Ristorante.
went with friends last night and as always everything was top notch. there are so many things on the menu and tough to decide. i had chicken with peppers, onions and mushrooms' with sausage. it was fabulous. My wife had grilled salmon and she liked it and portion was huge. also you get soup and salad with the entree
A very nice Italian restaurant with good food and drinks, great service & soft music (Sinatra). Perfect atmosphere for dinner.
If you want loud, bright and contemporary, this is not your place.
Just incredibly average; I’ve certainly had worse Italian in my life, but this place feels a bit dated. Had Chicken parm, and my fiancé had Chicken Alfredo. Pasta wasn’t homemade, and the service was lackluster. The chicken in my dish was actually quite good, but the sauces were both watery, I didn’t care for their salad dressing at all (and nobody even bothered to ask why I didn’t eat it), and it just overall wasn’t my favorite dining experience. Again, I’ve had worse, but overpriced for what you get, and probably won’t be back.
I went there for the first time two weeks ago for lunch and loved it. So when my brother and sister in law called to see if they could come stay I thought let's try Christo's for dinner. It exceeded my expectations and they were blown away. The Lemon rice soup was incredible. So creamy so much flavor and the vegetables in it still had some crunch. My sister in law had the Sea Bass she says its her top 3 best ever. My brother and I had the fettuccini... we both agreed finally fettuccini that taste like it should taste!!! Deserts were great as well. We will be going back.
Our favorite Phx restaurant - outstanding, as usual.
Service was very good as our server has been working at Christos for so many years. Salad was tasty and soup was good but nothing special or especially fresh. The osso bucco was fall off the bone but brown sauce was bland and bit salty. My fiancé had the filet which was cooked nicely but nothing special with plain veggies on the side. Affogato was unknown dessert but they made it for us with decaf espresso! Thanks it was delicious!
Had a great time. Great service and food.
Great place for a date night
Service was stellar (Scott)--professional, helpful and attentive. Meals were excellent--large portions; fresh, often homemade ingredients, tasty preparation, attractively presented, and served hot. Prices were incredibly competitive for the quality and quantity of food as well as the wonderful service. A definite keeper--will return next time in Phoenix.
Service was wonderful! Celebrated a 99th birthday. Osso Buco was amazing!
Went with dear friends. Loved the 1970s vibe
Excellent food and service. Great happy hour also.
Food was excellent as always, service too. Calamari rings a bit chewy and the food we were going to take home never came back to the table.
Let me start by saying that this is one of our fav Italian restaurants so what happened this past Saturday was hopefully not a new normal. We sat at a table in the bar and then realized too late that our server was the bartender as well. As the bar got busy she was overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up. Our meal came and the young man who delivered the food sat it down and cleared our salad plates and carried them into the nether regions of the kitchen while our food sat there getting cold. When we were about done eating our server showed up with the check, never asking us how everything was or if we wanted dessert, coffee or another cocktail and when we asked her to split it as we had indicated in the beginning of the night, she seemed put out to do it and wanted us to just split it in half which wouldn’t have been fair to one couple. She finally took it and split it. This was unusual in our experience with this establishment and hopefully management will make some staff training and adjustments.
We have the rack of lamb and the veal parmesan. Every single course was absolutely delicious and worth every penny!
Amazing Italian food! The best I have had in Phoenix. Service was attentive and noise level was low. Decor could use a bit of an update but didn’t matter because meal was so enjoyable
The history and longevity of this restaurant and owner is worth going to aline. Food/service was wonderful ..
Best restaurant week value our party of eight all agreed the food and service (Kat) was outstanding and they do this year around, not just during restaurant week. Well worth the drive from Anthem!
Great service, food delicious. A little disappointed that they were out of two items for AZ restaurant week.
Excellent food, great selection and value for restaurant week! Have been going there for years, in our opinion best Italian restaurant in Phoenix.
Wife’s 40 birthday!
Great food good service, nice ambiance to dine and enjoy a fine Italian meal
Christo's food is amazing! Everything we've had has been excellent. Portion size is very generous. Restaurant week value is phenomenal and multiple choices available for each course.
We dined here for the first time during PHX restaurant week. The portions are generous and great price for a pre fixe menu.
Christo’s is always good but this a best valued meal with restaurant week. Four course plus a glass of wine for 33 per person. Only two weeks a year but save the date for May
Place was packed for restaurant week but the service was excellent as usual. We were a little late but there was no problem. Food was wonderful and lots of it - actually too much - took some home for lunch. We never felt rushed either. Highly recommend.
You couldn't ask for a better server than Kat and the attention of our busboy. This is a neighborhood gem, that has been able to retain the best in the industry, including the kitchen. Enjoy
We dined in for lunch during Arizona Restaurant Week. For a Friday afternoon, they were extremely busy. When we were able to be served, we did receive good service.
The food was excellent. The value of our meal was outstanding!
Christo's is a neighborhood gem. We have brought out-of-town friends here for dinner and enjoyed a good experience.
Food and service were excellent! Highly recommend trying it out.
Kelsey was a great server and gave good recommendations.
Not sure anything is made in house. Seems like most is premade from shamrock/Sysco. Uninspired.
Restaurant Week menu had a good variety. Calamari was had by everyone and it was a good size portion and cooked perfectly. The salad was fresh but with a little too much dressing. The Veal Braciole was enjoyed by the 3 who had it. The Jumbo Shrimp over angel hair pasta was in a cream sauce and the person who ordered it thought it only fair. The limoncello cake and gelato were both delicious. The menu also included a glass of wine for each person which was a very nice touch. The service was very good and our waitress was very accommodating.
The food was excellent our server was great. The only thing I would suggest is the man cleaning in between courses give you time to eat. We would stop to chat he would rush over trying to take our plates or when we were taking a little break between courses. That was slightly annoying. Other than that great!
The food options were great. The food was very well prepared, delicious and the portions were perfect. This was a great value for the money. The service was the best we have ever had. Prompt and not pushy. They offered the Restaurant Week menu without prodding which has been my experience at other restaurants in previous years. Overall, a great experience. Thank you Christo's. Your extra efforts to provide excellent food and service is much appreciated.
It was a lovely evening, once again. Food was excellent as was the service. We eat here often….a great neighborhood ambience.
