It was loud and the food was mediocre. We ordered lobster tail with our steak and it was pretty rubbery. Overall the experience was okay and not sure we’ll be back.
Always a good place. Excellent cuts of meat prepared the way you want. Their brussel sprouts are tops.
Lauren was an absolutely amazing server! The food was incredible, they went above and beyond to make our meal exceptional! We will definitely be back!
An exceptional meal for the holidays, Christmas Eve. We will be back!
Sadly, Christopher's has slipped...not juts a bit but a lot. The move to the new location was, in our opinion, a bad one. The new spot is open, and loud...not what we were looking for. We enjoyed the ambiance of the old old location.
Food was not as good as in the past. Halibut was over cooked, bread was not fresh, my rare steak was closer to medium. Server was attentive (best part of the experience). We had enjoyed it in the past (but had not been there for over a year since we moved) but not likely to return any time soon.
The food was excellent and our waiter will superb. I encourage everybody to try the place at least once
Restaurant was empty and service was slow and food came out cold. Hard to believe I know but true. Waiter was embarrassed and gave us free dessert but still not with the time or money to visit.
Way overpriced. You think if you are spending $110 on a tomahawk steak they would know how to cook it. Service was outstanding, But they need a new cook.
Went to Christopher’s for my wife’s birthday. When we first were seated there was only two other groups of people there. That should have been a hint. It never got more crowded than that. I ordered the New York strip my wife ordered the halibut. My soup was very good, she said her salad was good then came the entree. My steak was ok, Sizzler has given me better and the mashed potatoes were gross. Her halibut came with some kind of cheese on top but no flavor. Should have went across the street to Ruth Chris. For the price won’t be coming back. For$108 I expect something great.
I researched this area online and wanted to take my friends out to the best steakhouse in Salt Lake City...after reviewing lots of their competitors menus I decided that Christopher’s would be the place to go. There was one item on their menu that nobody else had... a lobster corndog!
I had reservations for 7 on 12/07/2019 at 7:30pm... upon getting there we were told about their tomahawk ribeye steak special. The ambiance was fantastic... we were seated next to the fireplace and after settling in the waiter came around for our appetizer orders... as said before the lobster corndog is what brought all of us to Christopher’s Steakhouse... when the waiter came to me I asked why it wasn’t on the menu.. since it was on their menu online?
I was told that their online menu needed to be updated and that they no longer served that item.
I ordered 2 orders of giant shrimp and I guess I expected more than 3 per plate considering the
$19 price tag...
When our waiter came around for our dinner orders it was anything but professional.
My first order consisted of Crab & Lobster...
The waiter says: “I’m sorry sir... we are completely out of BOTH Crab & Lobster! So I said please take everyone else’s order and come back to me....
Everybody was having the same experience as I was...
My waiter made his way back to me for the second time...
I ordered the Special “tomahawk ribeye steak”
My waiter goes to the kitchen and comes back...
“I’m sorry sir... we only have one left” You will need to decide which member of your party can have it!
So... now I’m thinking that we need to draw straws to see who gets this steak from this 5 star rated restaurant!
My third time ordering... I ordered the Cowboy Cut
Ribeye... just to be told that they were out of those too!
I asked “ well what do you have?” I was directed to a different ribeye steak that I honestly could’ve made myself at home!
$800 for food we weren’t planning on eating!!!
Took my 88 year aunt out. She wanted a nice steak dinner and she was not disappointed.
We had our office party at Christopher’s. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. You will not be disappointed.
Everything about Christopher’s is top notch. Food and service were outstanding!
Steaks were cooked to perfection.
Christopher’s is the place to be for an exceptional dining experience. Ditch the chain steakhouses and introduce your loved ones to the romantic ambience only available through the touch of locals. Don’t be rushed through dinner. You deserve to enjoy an exquisite meal at your own pace. There is no crowd. Pull up a chair, hand your coat off and grab a bottle of wine. Don’t be surprised when your server goes above and beyond. I will return many times. Hidden gem. Try it out. You’ll be impressed.
We were excited to try this restaurant but it wasn't what we expected. The Waitress was very friendly but the service was extremely slow. There were multiple errors in our meals. We waited almost an hour to get our salad and soup. When the entrees finally came it was cold. I ordered the Lobster Dinner $51 and my husband ordered the Steak Special $110. I would expect outstanding/quick service and the food should be hot for those prices.
Christopher’s never disappoints! Wonderful food, great service! Who could ask for more? The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you’re completely satisfied with a visit from the manager to each table on a Saturday night!
I choose Christopher’s for all our special occasions, and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Christopher’s to my friends, family, and co workers.
Check it out, you will not be disappointed!
Fantastic!! Food was incredible, service was excellent, I really appreciated our waiter Zach's calm demeanor and knowledge about the menu. Will definitely be coming back.
Lauren was great and the service and food was cooked perfectly.
First visit. One of3 good steak restaurants within a block. Had the Cowboy Rib Eye with Ceasar Salad, Asparagus, and Chocolate cake..Overall, a pretty dining experience. Service was very good. Steak was good...Asparagus cooked a tad overdone, but acceptable. Ceasar Salad was the low point. Pretty much pedestrian.. Soup may have been a better choice, Will not dissuade me from coming back.
Steak was overcooked. Oscar style should be crab and not crab cake. Asparagus was not tender and should be smaller in size. I don't need bamboo shoots on my steak. The server was quick to interrupt me when I was questioning the size of the steak. Ambiance was really nice. They were nice to let us sit early before our reservation.
Service was bad and food was just ok. Two times in a row now with Christopher’s just being ok.
Always great service and food. One is the best steak houses in SLC. Make sure to have some of Daniel’s cheesecake for dessert.
The flavors here were really bad. The customer service was great and the servers were quick to respond and helped each other when a table needed something. The dining room was pretty empty with only five tables being used. It helped the room stay quiet so each table could enjoy each other’s company. But, every single table sent their steaks back for being underdone. Both my husband and I ordered medium rare steaks and received barely rare steaks. We joked about how we were getting steak tar-tar. Yuck! The service was great and they quickly returned it to the grill and brought it back the right way. I heard them tell every table that their medium rare was that way, but they had to return something from every table to get it to the customer’s standard of real medium rare...you’d think that if the restaurant’s standard for medium rare doesn’t fit the expectation of the customer’s standard of medium rare that they’d change it?
Anyway, the salad dressing had way too much balsamic vinegar in it, and so did their bernaise sauce. Unsurprisingly, none of the customers around us were in love with the balsamic honey butter served with their bread.
The New York strip steak was good, I can give them that. The baseball cut steak was horrible. All in all, if the service wasn’t as good as it was, I’d be giving this a 1 star. I’ve had better steak meals for $20 than I did for this $120 meal. Spare yourself and if you’re going to spend that much for a meal, hit up Ruth’s Chris across the street! Much better food for the money with the same excellent customer service.
My wife and I went for our second wedding anniversary and it was amazing! The staff was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I had the New York strip that was perfectly cooked with wonderful flavor and my wife had the filet minion. I’ve had many wonderful steaks in my time at many famous and non famous establishments and I can honestly say my wife’s fillet was the best steak I’ve ever tasted period! Absolutely delicious and tender enough to literally cut with a fork (I know because we did). I wish there was 6 stars!!!!
Although our dinner was very good, I was disappointed in the limited wine list for a high-end steak house. I also thought the bottles were over-priced. Also, there was not much to the restaurant's atmosphere or ambiance. It seems to me it is good for a group or business dinner, but not so much for a special or date night occasion. Overall, though, it was a good dinner and the steak was vey good.
This is our 2nd visit to Christopher’s. It was an outstanding experience. Johnny was our server and he was very upbeat and provided an outstanding service. Food from appetizer, soup, steak, and complementary dessert were all on-point.
A few suggestions:
1. I think the new menu is somewhat lacking on the choice of side dishes. I think all but the asparagus are potatoes based. There are no more sweet potatoes option.
2. The pineapple based cocktail was incredible. We wish there were more varieties to choose from.
3. Please invest on hot plates for steak just like Ruth Chris. I think as the steak size gets larger, it will be difficult to keep the steak sizzling hot without them.
Everything was excellent. Steak and pork chop wereborh cooked perfectly, server was excellent.
Overall food quality and quantity has declined while prices have remained same or gone up slightly. Don't normally think of value for money when dining at a high end steakhouse, but at some point, one has to ask the question "Is the overall experience worth what I'm paying?" Christopher's is approaching that point, unfortunately.
Food was excellent service was very good like the table setup
Great location near theaters and plenty of adjacent parking (paid). The facility is nice with outside views and great decor. The service was excellent (our waiter is a school teacher during the day). He was very attentive and made great suggestions. Our filets were as good as they get as were the salads and the sides. As it was our anniversary we even were served a free cheesecake dessert. The Moscow Mule and Martini were excellent too. My wife and I recommend Christophers very highly; maybe the best steak house in Salt Lake City.
Wonderful service! Johnny was awesome!! Food delicious!!!!
Daniel was a fantastic server! Made the experience worth it!
Excellent service from hostess/host, to waitress/waiter to cook. Appetizers are simply a diverse delight with the favorite being Calamari. The salad and soups are excellent. Tonight our Salmon/Halibut and Filet main courses were truly to perfection. The menu can accommodate everyone’s palate and appetite. We will return again.
Excellent food and service. Honey balsamic butter for the complimentary bread was delicious. I would return here.
Great food served up in a lovely setting by. Lauren and the staff. Memorable meal.
Every restaurant seems to have a mediocre night every now and then. This was that night. The kitchen let them down this time. The food was "average". I was expecting "great". I will try Christopher's Prime again in the future to see if tonight was just one of those nights.
the service was impeccable!! the food was great! I highly recommend!
To expensive for what you get+ apiece of meat(good quality) served with nothing
Honestly picked this place because it was close to the hotel and not a chain (Ruths Chris is right across the street). So happy we went here. The food was amazing! Had the 8oz filet (perfectly cooked) and the brussel sprouts (the best i have ever had, I nearly ate the entire portion!).
Highly, Highly recommended.
We had a great time celebrating a belated birthday dinner. The food was great, and the service was wonderful.
