Chops Grille was opened in uptown Kingston, New York in November of 2015. Denni Demosthenes is your gracious and welcoming host to this warm and inviting venue. His vision for this new venture is an attractive restaurant with an inviting menu featuring grilled favorites with a flair.

Our menu will delight your taste buds at Chops Grille. Fresh salads, sandwiches and burgers will truly satisfy your hunger. Our warm, candlelit ambiance complements our mouth-watering dinner fare. We feature many different type half-pound burgers, including Kobe burgers, steaks, chops, fish and more -- all cooked to perfection.

                                                                                              We went out with friends for a nice dinner here and weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, though my eyes were somewhat bigger than my stomach and I couldn't finish my steak. The escargot was cooked perfectly with an incredible sauce. Drinks were on point (with a nice selection of wine) and the service was excellent. Denny, the owner, did everything to make sure we were happy with our orders. I highly recommend chops for a nice evening out.

I don't live in the Kingston area anymore but when I'm in town to visit family I like to dine at Chops. The food is great, the owner Denny is very nice and the waitstaff is warm and friendly. Give this restaurant a try!

The owner graciously treated us to a round of drinks for our anniversary. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Escargot, Calamari, Tomahawk pork chop and filet mignon were all excellent!

                                                                                              The french onion soup is very good. This is a classic. The blue cheese salad, I asked if I could have something else besides the prosciutto, like anchovy, cause I don't eat red meat. They gave me bacon. I didn't make a big deal about it. The salmon was the best part of our meal. Perfectly cooked, risotto was excellent, sauce very good. We shared the apple crisp. While it had good flavor, I didn't like the way it was served, and there was way too much! It was served in a cereal bowl. There must have been more that 1 lb of apple crisp. I would have been happier with half of that and a crunchy top. There was no top on ours. There was also way too much ice cream. I realize that this is a steak house, and portions are usually big. I must say that the portions are way too big. But thank you for being there for Christmas eve. Your staff was very nice.

                                                                                              We were really looking forward to finally being able to enjoy a meal outside of our home now that the covid restrictions were easing. Reservation was made for 6pm on Friday night. The table was not set up. No one in the restaurant, staff included, were wearing masks. We read the reviews which all seemed favorable. Before making reservations, we always look at the online menus to check what's available and make sure it is food we like and to see prices. We did just that. Let's just say we were a little surprised. We were 3 adults. We ordered 2 apps and 1 salad, 2 glasses of house wine ($12 for each glass) and 1 beer (a draft at $8). We each had an entree, 1 chicken Caprese which I did not enjoy but the veggies were good, 1 cod dish and one special which was loin lamb chops (3 really small chops with mashed potatoes and veggies). The bill came to over $205 with tip for the 3 of us. I have to add that the service was good especially since I think our waitress was working alone with help from the hostess and the owner and she did a great job. I would hope the restaurant would update their website menus - that would help a lot.

Although it was fairly late in the evening, the meal was not rushed and we were told to take our time and enjoy. Our server was friendly and accommodating, offering suggestions on what to order. The appetizers, main course, and dessert were all tasty and well-prepared. The fish was fresh and the lamb chops were delicious-- both main courses were generous portions and were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Notably, the lamb chops were a thick double rack, but very juicy and tender; cooked and served medium rare as requested. The warm goat cheese in phyllo dough appetizer was a great starter and the warm apple crumble with vanilla ice cream was a classic dessert to finish the meal. Chops Grille was a last-minute find during our weekend getaway and we will certainly return when we are in the area again. Thanks!

From the initial fresh pita wedges through to the delicious desserts (the apple crumble and chocolate cake were particularly popular with our table). We had 3 different seafood dishes and the steak and we were all immensely satisfied. The hostess was very friendly and our waitress was excellent.

Fantastic!! We had two specials - the pork and the lamb - and loved the presentation, the preparation, and the attentive people at Chops. What a breath of fresh air post-Covid! This is THE best dining experience in this area. Be sure to pace yourself for the homemade cheesecake. Thank you for an evening to treasure before we head home!

The young lady who was our server was excellent (should have given her 5 Stars not 4). The place reminded us of past glory. However, other than that, there is no wine by the bottle and you get the flavors of the day by the glass. Also, did not have the higher end brands of scotch -- BUT, they pour one hell of a hefty drink! The appetizers were very good - the multiple cheese onion soup according to my wife was excellent. However, her Filet Mignon came out well done instead of medium rare and my Rack of Lamb was also a bit overdone and the outside covering was not removed as part of the preparation. But, all of this simply could have been a one-off day for the chef. We probably will try the Chops Grille again but have to admit I am just a bit leery after this experience. One thing for sure, their prices are very very reasonable.

                                                                                              The hostess and waitress, (Yvonne was her name I believe) were exceptionally accommodating and warm. They have great recommendations and had good conversation. The food was well seasoned, we ordered steaks and felt that they were cooked well, the Mac and Cheese was not as cheesy as I preferred but it was still a good pairing for the price and their sweet Thai chili calamari is a winner!

                                                                                              Quiet evening. We had the dining room to ourselves. Yvonne our server was wonderful. Friendly and chatty - a real delight! Food was good and well prepared. Banana cream pie for dessert was delicious!

                                                                                              Food was average at best, not what was expected for the price we paid. We also waited quite a while for our entrees, which were brought to us cold and one persons wasn’t even delivered, because “they forgot about it.” Poor seasoning, brunt outside raw inside, and poor service with water refills. We won’t be returning here, that’s for sure.

                                                                                              A really nice dinner with my husband. Everything from apps to entree were really good. I'd like more steak options with the name Chops Grille. A porterhouse for sure would have been ordered. The service was fantastic. We will be back.

                                                                                              Amazing food, friendly people, great atmosphere. We found this restaurant on Open table and as we were walking to it, a couple told us we would love the food and the place was amazing. Just what we needed after coming from a long drive from Long Island

We waited more than an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived 3 of the 6 dinner orders were wrong. The quality of the food was average at best. Our waiter was very good. He was apologetic and gave us all a free glass of wine. He obviously felt very bad about the whole situation.

                                                                                              We had a reservation but still waited over 15 minutes to be seated. The waiter forgot to bring the pita and hummus, which was actually very good. We only ordered entrees and then waited an hour to receive it. When we questioned the manager, he became argumentative and tried to explain that waiting an hour for four entrees was normal. When our food arrived, one of the entrees was cold and did not have the described sides. Our table was not the only one having difficulties that evening - the table next to us also had a long wait and their meals were not accurate. The waitstaff was polite and apologetic, but we will not be returning.
