Service was excellent. I think our waitress was named Amber. Shrimp Cocktail was excellent. I had 16 Oz rib eye wife had 8 Oz filet rib eye. We both ordered them medium rare. Hers came out medium and mine came out well done. She said hers was somewhat chewy. At $40 each with a $151.22 bill before gratuity for two I would think they could have provided a better steak. The waitress did apologize but it was no help. FYI-asparagus and mashed potatoes were seasoned perfect and tasted excellent. May or may not be back for second try.
It was a great experience! The service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. The tallow aged ribeye certainly didn’t disappoint. We look forward to our next outing!
Excellent steakhouse, with generous portions of sides. Service was friendly and professional. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Excellent steaks and sides. Fine dining with prompt, friendly and impeccable service. A great birthday celebration.
The waitress was rude to the lady filling up water and answering questions as soon as she walked off. The Ribeye Filet (medium) was so tough that I had a hard time swallowing it. Asked the waitress if it was suppose to be that tough & she said yes. The other steak was suppose to rare and was definitely a medium. That's just a little of the disappointment for $220. Our other couple spent just as much. They will not be coming back either.
Great waiter, Tallow Steak not worth $50.00 too tough, Great portions, Way to much noise, need to reduce, distracts from the good points. Like a sports bar, but more expensive.
Food was excellent ! Restaurant and service could be improved. Restaurant somewhat seemed cold and cafeteria like. Hostess wanted to seat us in the pastry shop portion of the restaurant which was disappointing . We did asked to to be moved. Table cloths would create a warmer atmosphere.
A truly enjoyable experience. Delicious food and excellent service. If you are a bourbon fan, then this place is for you … huge selection of bourbons. Definitely will be going back!
We went for our anniversary after going for my birthday last month. It was just as great as the first time and we will continue going back!
The biggest complaint was the quality of my pork chop. It was cooked to medium temp. However the meat was very tough and I could not chew it or consume it.
However we enjoyed our time and hope to return.
We chose the Chapin Chophouse to celebrate a birthday. Our party of 6 were all very pleased with our dining experience. Our waiter (tall Richard as he referred to himself) was excellent. He was very personable and knew when to approach and when to let us be. The only reason I gave a 4 for food was a couple of our steaks were a bit overcooked but they did offer to replace them and they were still delicious. We especially enjoyed the summer salads and all of the other side dishes ordered. They were very attentive and made sure to wish the birthday girl a happy birthday as well as providing a champagne toast for the table. We will definitely go back again!
Steak choices serving size too large for most of us of a certain age..already expensive but adding $4 to split it makes it worse. I just had a bite of someone else's steak and it was very good. I ordered all sides and the potatoes and Brussel Sprouts were good...the Asparagus so so. The Tuna Ceviche tasteless. Service was fine and restaurant ambience is very nice. Not really complaining so much as suggesting offering smaller options for steak. Otherwise, very nice and needed addition to Chapin. Look forward to trying the desserts next visit.
Dinner was really great at Chophouse. We went for our anniversary and we’re treated to champagne on the house!
The steaks and side were amazing, and our waiter was attentive and friendly.
On the higher end on price, but truly worth it for a great dinner.
The booths were intimate and noise level low so you could enjoy conversation with ease.
I will go again and I recommend it highly! Love that we could have this level of a restaurant without to going downtown Columbia!
Great food and atmosphere. The service is exceptional.
Nothing we had was less than phenomenal!! We enjoyed being able to order a dessert from
I was very disappointed.
That was the third time I have been there and all of a sudden they now charge $4 to split a salad in addition the portions are smaller.
The food and atmosphere is great. Nice upscale dining spot.
Great food, great service! Very loud though. Go early and it is not so loud.
Personable service, superior presentation, excellent menu choices. Will recommend to co-workers, friends and family.
This is definitely fine dining that's very close to home if you live in or around Chapin and don't want to deal with the travel or the crowds in Columbia. It's not cheap, but was worth the price we paid. I think the Pre-Fix 3 Course option is a great idea. The food selections were great and helped to moderate the overall cost of the night out. We will be back soon.
The ambiance and esthetic of the restaurant, were great. The servers were attentive and very professional. The overall quality and value of the meals was disappointing.
We had a perfect night here at Chophouse for our 10 year anniversary!
Jesse, our server, was the perfect level of attentive. He made excellent recommendations and we loved that he treated us to sparkling wine.
The food was absolutely amazing, steaks and lamb cooked to perfection!
We will definitely be back!
Our waiter was excellent. Staff was very professional. They desperately need sound panels.
For a local chophouse you cannot beat the level of service for the money. I would choose this over any other comparable restaurants just to support a local establishment. They were cognizant of our anniversary celebration with a complimentary toast.
Great dinner chose to sit outside and it was delightful with the fans. No one else was outside so we had a private dinning experience! The food was good I ordered the filet and it was about 5 inches thick so wasn’t planning on that and had to send back to kitchen to cook to medium. Medium well would have been better. The sides were plentiful the large was brought to table as we forgot to say small portion for 2 people. The waiter did not ask ….I would definitely eat here again. I hope Chapin supports this fine dinning eatery
Great food and a nice place. Wife eats beef well done. Had to send steak back twice. Need to listen to how the customer likes food
Order was not correct. Server not attentive. He didn't write anything down. We weren't expecting romaine lettuce to be a whole split stalk. Expected lettuce to be chopped up. Too much corn on salad, and little of anything else. Entree quality was good once I finally got it.
We love this place!!! My son and I had a fabulous dinner and the staff was very accommodating! Thank you for an enjoyable evening on a stormy night 😍
Great for date night. Not having to drive all the way into Columbia for a great restaurant is very nice. The food was delicious!
Quality of food is excellent. The overall dining experience was outstanding.
My wife and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Chophouse at Chapin. We had a great time, met a lot of people including some of the staff. Jessie did a great job as our main server, and Matt one of the general managers came over to visit. Several people at other tables talked to us and congratulated us on our anniversary. Thanks to all of the people at the Chophouse at Chapin for making our 50th a great moment in our lives.
Made reservation and table wasn't ready (sat at bar for 20 minutes before table was ready), had to close out bar tab before being seated, ordered Chophouse Chicken and the chicken appeared to be cooked until the outer edge was cut and then it was completely undercooked, and we ordered a ribeye steak and received a strip steak. The Manager took the chicken off of the bill but never offered anything else. Waiter joked and said, "I don't know if I should offer you cake or a ride to the emergency room" and really a peice of cake is the least they could have offered.
The food was great other than the steaks having a burnt taste to them. Also we stated on our reservation that we were celebrating our Anniversary. Any other restaurant of the like that we have been to for our Anniversary have made a point of making us feel
Special and I don’t feel as if this was done
Great dining experience close to home without having to travel into Columbia! Food and service were excellent! Highly recommend!
Steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Wine paired perfectly with the help of sommelier, Desmond. Taylor was our waitress and she was amazing! Good ambiance, service was great, and the food delicious. Will definitely go back again.
Always love to leave a review every time I come. The wife and I had to go to Halls Chophouse the week before to really compare and hands down the quality and price is so much better then Halls. This is really one of the best places around.
The food and service is excellent! The restaurant is decorated nicely however the noise level is absolutely ridiculous. They need to drape the high ceilings with fabric, that would help. The noise is so loud that the music makes it even worse because all you can hear is the base. We will return when it is a little cooler to sit outside where it is a little less noisey.
Great service and food! Would reccomend anyone to come try!
Good food. Meat was the perfect temperature and the sides were great - especially the mac and cheese. Unfortunately, the service doesn't match the price. Waited 15 minutes for our first round of drinks and the place was pretty slow. There were two guys in suits walking around (managers?). Didn't stop at the table to see how we were doing but they did help clear the table, lol. Definitely not Halls' level of service but Halls' prices.
Fantastic food and service! Highly recommended.
