Chopfuku Sushi Bar and Asian Cuisine
Omakase is a famous and long-standing culinary style of the Japanese. When you choose the Omakase menu, it means that you let the chef decide your dish. The word itself in Japanese means "I believe (depending) on you".

Great food with fast service. Sushi was fresh and exceeded expectations. Fun atmosphere.
Was very pleased with our experience at Chopfuku. Incredibly welcoming and efficient service, and the atmosphere was great. You could tell the food was prepared thoughtfully and came out quicker than expected on a busy night. Will definitely consider a return visit.
It was great!
Excellent Food...Great Service
As usual, Chopfuku was very good. Excellent sushi. Very nice presentation. We'll be back!
Food was outstanding. The fried rice is next level. Rolls were big and delicious. Great service
The quality of food, to the service from staff and management are always top notch. We love coming to chopfuku.
This place is awesome. Delicious food, wonderful service and great prices. Highly recommend!
This is a very high-quality Japanese restaurant! The service and the recommendations by the staff were all very accurate, helpful, and there wasn't a single recommendation that my friend and I didn't absolutely love! The quality of the sushi is the absolute best, but the staff matches the quality ingredients with a beautiful, fantastic presentation on every dish served!
My friend and I felt as if Chopfuku is a secret, hidden treasure trove in Taylorsville. Our biggest complaint is that neither of us had the space in our stomachs for everything we want to try on this menu! We already know we have to go back many more times to try so many more items off Chopfuku's amazing menu!
One of the best sushi places in SLC that is not downtown. Family owned.. Fresh , excellent quality fish. And serves specialty fish as they get them. Not overly crowded. Great service. We are regulars. And they treat us like house guests. They know your drinking and your eating habits.
This place is a hidden gem. The best sushi I have had in SLC and the absolute best service.
There’s very little fish in a roll and tons of race
This restaurant is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! Please give it a try, you will not be disappointed 😋😋😋
Enjoyed the Hamachi Collar which was succulent and flavorful, perfectly cooked and presented. Visiting from Dallas so relied on their positive reviews and were delighted with our meal.
Chopfuku I fabulous and consistent. They team/staff there is great and fish is fresh. I highly recommend!!!
Lovely and yummy.
We love everything about Chopfuku.
Really good food. Probably best Sushi in Utah.
Everything was fantastic! The only things I can think of to mention is they were out of limes (for my beverage) and they put the wasabi and ginger crammed together in the same small ramekin and I had to ask for more wasabi.
The sushi is always fresh and amazing. So glad we found this spot.
Amazing food and service. Definitely the best sushi I’ve found in utah. Will go back! Great service too. We went for a birthday and felt it was a special dinner with a surprise sushi roll the chef put together for us.
We went to dinner for my brothers graduation and loved everything about it! Great food, service was amazing, super clean and professional, and overall had a great time! You cannot go wrong with any dish - trust us. Would recommend to anyone who is wanting to enjoy a nice meal with family or friends!
I’ve eaten here 3 times prior to covid. Twice being when they first opened and things were very different this time, even the food. I have previously ordered calamari and shaking beef at this place, this time the shaking beef came out in a sauce and was more of a stir fry. It was gross. I also hated the over breading on the calamari. Before it was a very light batter. Also everything came out in a noodle bowl that I found to be weird. Everyone seemed to like their sushi but not their cooked food. I wouldn’t go back because the food really wasn’t good at all and I don’t eat sushi. It’s a shame because I recommended this place to our friends and brought them for one of their birthdays.
This was a great alternative to our original choice for dinner. Glad we found this gem so close to home with such excellent sushi and menu options!
We had a great time and the food was terrific. We’ll be back.
Food was delicious and they had options for those not wanting sushi. Portions of sushi were large!
Great food...stayed overnight as we were driving through. If you like fresh sushi and sashimi, you won’t be disappointed.
Sushi was great, the main dish was ok. We had the "shaking beef" but there are more vegetables than meat in the dish. The ratio is wrong for the name of the dish. If Im having a meat dish I expect 70% or more meat in it.
The service was really good and I like the atmostphere.
Again...sushi was great!
Wonderful spot to eat! Great fish and fabulous service :)
My significant other and I went here for a Valentine’s Day dinner, and I had made a reservation for us. When we got there we were told that we needed to write our name down on their list. We had thought that it would be a 10 maybe 15 min wait, but we had waited for an hour before we were seated even though we had a reservation. Other than the long wait, The food was really good with good portion sizes. The food definitely made up for the long wait.
They did not honor any guests' reservation time. There was a huge line all for people who had made prior reservations. When we finally sat down about 20 minutes past our reservation time, we found out that the menu that night was Prix Fixe only. NO SUSHI BAR options- really? At a sushi restaurant? Their website never indicated they would be offering only Prix Fixe. So my husband and I walked out after all that fuss. Horrible experience.
They didn't follow social distancing rules, had a reservation for 7:30 and weren't seated till after 8pm - they overbooked their restaurant. Website and Google both said they had Valentine's menu and regular menu - but they refused to serve the regular menu once I was there. We waited over 20 minutes for our desert to come out once our table was cleared. The food was fairly good, but I really disliked not being able to order what I wanted and needing to pay $50 for stuff I didn't want. Not pleased with the experience.
The food was really good
Especially the crab jalapeño poppers appetizer.
Double date for Valentine’s Day. Had a special menu. Everything was great!
The sushi combo and sashimi combo were not very good. Most of the fish was not fresh. The tuna was heavily peppered on the outside. The miso soup was ok but tasted a bit different that typical miso soup. I would stick to the rolls.
I saw the yelp reviews and pictures and was excited to try this place. It was very difficult to understand our waiter and we felt like we were in a high pressure sales situation. We were encouraged 5 different times to buy the specials that we said no to each time. Very confusing trying to order as the waiter kept trying to add things to our order. We had all sushi and it was mediocre at best. Oh yah, it was $106 for 2 without tip! Not good.
Overall food was good. Ambiance and decorations were nice. Although we had a reservation we weren't seated until 45 min after our reservation and then the 10course meal took another 2 hours to be served and eaten. The service seemed to be hectic with workers bumping into each other often with some miscommunication.
Inventive, fresh and not dumbed down for the local palate. The service was excellent as well. The place was packed for Valentine’s and they didn’t miss a beat.
Tsunami just got demoted to plan B. Chopfuku is the go to for sushi now.
Great variety, friendly service. Traditional Sushi decor. Gyoza great. Fried rice very good. The rolls done great. Presentation top line. Many options price very good.
Absolutely delicious fresh sushi! This will probably become our new go to sushi restaurant. We got the sashimi sampler ($50) and everything was unique and amazing! So many fish I had never tried before (the exception being peppered tuna which was delicious). Most impressive of all was the knowledge of the staff about the fish and how they are prepared. They also took the time to talk with us to see what we usually enjoy ordering and make recommendations (all of which were spot on). Highly recommend checking out this gem.
